- Hi everyone! I'm Aja Dang and I'm so excited to introduce you to Beyonce, Kelly & Michelle - my outdoor plants. This is an outdoor patio apartment tour/plant tour because... why not. I wanted to start introducing you to my new apartment (we moved in October) but we're still working on some things in the loft so here's an appetizer.
If you remember in our old apartment, we had this HUGE rooftop deck. It was beautiful and amazing but it was hot, dirty and high maintenance. We've downsized in space but I've spent more time on my current patio within the first couple months than I did all of the time we lived at our old place.

This is so on time . Like I just move in my first apartment and became a plant mom . I have three a spider plant , Aloe Vera ,and coffee plant . I’m looking at getting a zz plant next ! And hopefully I’m done after that . Lol no more kids .
ZZ plants are easy. I have in my kitchen that's thriving.

Love your outdoor space! Article furniture is so stylish, I have some dining chairs and the quality has been great. I also get the heebie jeebies from dirty outdoor furniture. I once had rat droppings on my outdoor cushions! I ended up washing them and now I take the cushions indoors at night and it has stopped the problem. I think the warmth of the cushions combined with the cover created a warm haven for rats :(. I love your plants too!

I normally go to Sunset Blvd Nursery but you can get great finds at FB marketplace and Offer Up
Love the plant names. I don't have suggestions for the little cacti, but naming them soon might give them good vibes in protecting from thieves. Have you considered taller natural bamboo fencing to deter theft?

@@AjaDang haha we used like electric netting for our goats when we used to live in the country. Might not be socially acceptable where you live, but at least it will keep you things secure lol

the Ring I bought has proven to be useless. They didn't take the sectional bc that's too heavy but plants/umbrellas/stools... everything else lol

@@mordecai8707 I also love plants, lately I've been talking to my avocado and ask him to survive. I believe that he hears me and therefore tries very hard. So I would never steal someone's plants, because then my avocado would know about everything and begin to condemn me. And I value our relationship 🙂

I compost my dead plants so I like to think that instead of me killing them, I am completing the cycle of life by turning them back into dirt.

One of the reasons I bought an apartment on 26th floor instead of a townhouse is the crazy thieves sh*t. My parents used to diy a B40 steel wire cage literally around the patio and balconies, because the thieves were stealing every thing they could, even the mop and broom. I'm done with that in my generation, lol.
Omg patio thieves?! You should make like a slatted fence or something tall and temporary to prevent people from coming in. It's a lot of work but I think it's worth it to have a piece of mind at night
Brian wanted to and our neighbors have done that but I just didn't like the look of it. Preserving the vibes is my selfish priority lol
Patio pirates sucks. Sorry this happened to you. If they wanna steal, they will find a way (even consider hopping over in the middle of the night).
Maybe consider adding MORE plants.... like privacy / uniformed ones like bamboo (like those dark green ones in restaurants) for privacy reasons and block off temptation (of viewing and stealing) or motioned detected lights (solar power)?
I added these for my patio, nosey people who walked by in our yard and stare inside our home tend to walk faster and avoid eye contact when the motion lights go off lol.
