Idk why, but I think it always looks nice when a character's playstyle and abilities are portrayed accurately in a cutscene, like layla's shield, faruzan's polyhedron, wanderer's propellers, etc.
This is exactly why I hope we get a Genshin anime soon. It'll be nice to see a more accurate portrayal of the characters' abilities.

Wanderer can fly as he want too, for as long as he want. Its proper flying not levitating like in game.

Yeah his agility is super good with that ability. Not only this his powers can help him stay far away from the enemy. Its just perfect for him. Though i have to say hes lost alot of utility after he got out of the shouki no kami robot

Honestly, Kaveh turned out to be a lot more "subdued" than I expected him to be during this event. My first impression of him has always been somewhat of a hot-headed yet cheerful guy who feels too much and thinks too little, and while the latter might be "sort" of true, this event also showed that he's very well aware that his habits of prioritzing the needs of others before himself can cause him more misery and that this has already been a long time inner conflict of his, and yet, he still does it anyway. Dude fainted in the desert and he brushed off like it was nothing since he managed to get the desert foxes to safety lmao.
Added to that, I also thought Kaveh was just going to be a smarter, Sumeru version of Itto but I'm glad that's not true, since the more I think about his character, the more he just becomes more interesting and complex. Empathy is a double-edged sword as Alhaitham eloquently stated himself, and hopefully, there would be some character development for Kaveh where he learns to balance said sword.
So basically, what I'm saying is, I'm spending all my primogems for this man and have him live in my sereniteapot for as long as he wants.
just be patient with him in the teapot. he is an architect and loves artistic items so he must have his opinion about our taste in decoration 😂

Holy heck, Scara is so OP in this cutscene, no wonder he was the 6th (aside from the durability/endurance as a puppet). Absolutely speedster on the battlefield and it took almost everyone’s efforts to get that diadem from him, just **chefs kiss** perfection.

We could easily tell here that among the entire contestants, only Wanderer and Cyno were the ace in their battle prowess due to their experience.
Well yeah, they're really the only ones with battle experience. Lots of Genshin characters don't actually know how fight in-lore eg. Hu Tao, Barbara, Kaveh, etc

I believe that it's the result of Kaveh crushing down the ground real bad. If someone falls while playing, you would stop and be like "bro are you ok?". Like, this doesn't happen that often in competitions, but you also have to consider that part of these people are friends of Kaveh. So I think they went "huh are you alright for a sec?" And then noticed that there was something wrong as the diadem was oozing some black stuff

Imagine telling some dude from 2020 that Cyno was gonna battle flying blue Scaramouche so that he can win a trading card.
There's zero question this is one of the best cutscenes this game has ever made. It reminds me of the Albedo event cutscene if I had to pick one to relate it to. A lot of people are talking about the fighting and the themes being mixed in, which is fair because they're amazing, but I love how it displays the strategies of the characters too. Faruzan confronting Layla with her device head-on, Hat Guy snatching the diadem by flying right through (being his usual showy and rude self while doing it; look at how he treats Faruzan after he breaks her device), and Tighnari and Cyno waiting for the right moments to attack.
I also love that the core of this event was Kaveh's idealism and the reason he was able to win wasn't because he fought the others but was trying to give Faruzan her device back by catching it and got swept up in the process.

I absolutely loved this event, and the reference to the philosophycal views of the characters actually helped me understanding kaveh and alhaitham's relationship better.
Said very simply they are like opposites. Kaveh is an empathetic idealistic, he cares too much, and that can result in him trying to help others in spite of hurting himself, the second match was the perfect example, when he helped the foxes at the cost of possibly being unable to win. The greatest risk for him would be to adopt a nihilistic view of the world like Sachin, that's why I was sure he would reject his inheritance and to continue his research. While alhaitham is a bit colder and rational, im not saying he lacks emphaty, but he does put himself first, but luckly his values align with a certain degree of integrity, if not he could have been one of the greatest villains, let's just say he has a more objective view of the world compared to kaveh. That explains why they keep on bickering, but alhaitham, although he doesn't agree, actually has a great understanding of kaveh's character.

i love how they they used abilities from the gameplay! Everyone was cool, but i'm glad they showed Cyno and Scara, guys who's abilities were most op in lore shining the brightest. Like, their fight fits both their characters and roles in lore. And ofc was cool af, the animations keep getting better and better!

Yeah, I really hoped in this competition that in the end he won’t move out if he won. Luckily, he did not move and the ”friendship” between Kaveh and Alhaitam will last. :D Althought it would have been great too if he actually MOVED and we’d get to see Alhaitham’s softer side with saying something like ”Are you SURE you want to move?” Or something.

I love how Al-Haitham didn't care about the fact that the participants could seriously injure and even kill each other during this competition and didn't create rules to prevent this from happening. It's certainly great that they can dodge attacks, but one wrong move, and one of them would probably be killed (or maybe not one). Also, I don't understand how Wanderer could take the diadem through the Laila's shield.
