- Big thanks to Pip Hammond for a very last minute sponsor job on this as I had no clue this was on and was pretty dead after the Trackrod Rally so wasn't massively fussed if I missed it! It kinda shows in the filming, showed up late and half the cameras didn't work. Yet another £25 club event thanks to Vauxhall show going on outside as well. Clearly this is becoming the norm and my advice is the same as it was at the Cadwell one. Stay well clear! Such a shame that the average club event is being treated like a national touring car event in terms of pricing (the joke here is that the TCR UK event WEEKEND ticket was cheaper last time) when the additions to the show so far have been a small collection of cars and a small on track demo at lunch of cars that funnily enough, you can see at a lot of club Motorsport events...

I still have no idea how car 1 managed to do that at the end. Just glad he made it half way round the circuit to the pit without loosing it.
It's one of the more impressive mechanical failures I've seen this year, must have built all the strength into it the wrong way around lol

God what has happened to Mighty Minis that was a once fantastic championship I just looked and saw there was about 11 cars in it split into 2 classes!?

Ngl it was a pretty big sting for that being even 22 quid for pre-order tickets.. it kinda showed imo too. Felt like there was nobody there.

@@PescaraProductions not even close 😂 I swear there were more looking at the vxr's in the car park then actually attending the racing.
Castle Combe autumn classic the day before was 20 quid and had fantastic racing and was absolutely rammed! Genuinely never seen a race day so quiet as that for a dry one. The grandstand at the top of the hill had virtually everyone for the day at it and the rest of the track a ghost town.
@@mrblackrock555 I don't get what they're trying to do? If they think they're going to attract people back to Donington with its shocking spectator access (trust me its usually as dead as this for most club events because people don't like being trapped 3 miles from their car when it rains), the staggering ticket price and the actual added exhibition being stuffed in the car park out back, they're going to be sorely disappointed! People like Combe and Mallory because of the accessibility. Donington has nothing like it
It all depends on what you were there for really. I had gone with my mate Malcolm and his Monaro vxr and 2005 BTCC car. If you look at it from a Vauxhall fans point of view you got to see hundreds of cars, some of which ran a fantastic display that you would never see or hear anywhere else. Jason Hughes showed what a properly sorted BTCC car can do, the sound of Mega Bertha woke up several people that had been dead for years. The mighty mini race, the historic race, the BMW's all added to a full day of activities. Yes, it is expensive, these places cost an absolute fortune to run with maintenance, marshalls, emergency staff etc it doesn't come for free. I wish it cost less so more people could go but can you imagine what the insurance bill alone would be like these days? I thought it was a fantastic day, despite the weather marring things a bit. I will agree that if you paid that just to see a particular race then it would have been extremely expensive but if you embraced and enjoyed everything that was going oon then it wasn't bad at all.
It makes no sense to charge that much extra if you ask me and they funnel the vaux valves people through a different gate so charge them 25 quid if they wanna deal with it🤷♂. Everyone else that comes for a motorsport meeting shouldn't be priced out of the market, it was already steep at the £15/£17 range they've put it at in recent years. If they actually had any brains at MSV they'd charge you guys the exact same amount of money because not only would they still be getting more people in anyway, but they might not piss the few people off that go to club events and actually make the events seem affordable to any future new spectators. As for the place costing a fortune to run, that again is solely on MSV's heads. They cut the grass 9 times a week and paint the place 52 times a year! And the marshals get a free lunch maybe if they're lucky, those guys are rarely paid! 20 Minutes of 6 Vauxhalls going quick isn't worth an extra £10, not when you can go and see those Vauxhalls compete at actual races for less, you absolutely can go and see them elsewhere
@aarongarter3917 Yeah I can't really grasp the idea behind the added cost, you'd think they'd be happy with apparent hundreds of extra folk going through the gate for the same price as it would usually cost🤔. The core principle here is not a bad idea, in fact it's a pretty good one. It's the added greed that I don't get. And yes Donington probably does have a high upkeep cost, but as you say, a little less spent on the grass cutting and paint job it gets every 12 seconds and more on the PADDOCK security (not the gate security) and more listening to what marshals and spectators would like here and I wouldn't have a problem. But I know for a fact that none of it will be put back into making this place better for both of those parties. We've seen that for years
