Nutella Puff Pastries | 6 Different Pastry Designs | Bakarkhani Recipe

  • In this video i show you how to make nutella puff pastries using 6 different designs. These sweet puff pastries are also known as Bakarkhani and are a great tea time delight. Create using nutella or just sugar either way its delicious.
    Ingredients:
    Puff Pastry (As Required)
    1/2 Cup Nutella
    1/2 Cup Sugar (Adjust To Taste)
    1/4 Cup Chopped Hazelnuts
    Method:
    1. Starting with a full sheet of puff pastry to create swirl pastries, cut in half length ways and spread a layer of Nutella on one side. Fold the other side of the pastry over and cut into equal lengths to create long strips.
    2. Twist each strip from each side and roll into a circle from the bottom to the top.
    3. Sprinkle with sugar and hazelnuts and bake for 12 mins, gas mark 6.
    4. To create elephant ears start with a rectangle sheet, spread a layer of Nutella and hazelnuts and roll each side into the middle.
    5. Cut off the ends and cut into equal lengths. Sprinkle with sugar and bake for 12 mins, gas mark 6
    6. To create twists, cut the full sheet of pastry into 8 equal squares. Spread a layer of Nutella and roll from the top to bottom.
    7. Cut down the middle and twist each strip over and under each other.
    8. For the braided pastries, create little cuts down each side of the pastry leaving the middle.
    9. Fill with Nutella and fold the strips over the middle in an ‘x’ shape.
    10. For the pinwheel, use a square cut piece of pastry. Create 4 triangles and fold each tip into the centre.
    11. Sprinkle the twists, braids and pinwheels with sugar and bake for 15 mins at gas mark 6.
    12. To create hearts, layer sugar on (or Nutella for a chocolate version) fold each side into the middle and fold in half again.
    13. Cut off the ends and cut into equal lengths. Spread out on to a baking tray and sprinkle on more sugar. Bake for 12 mins, gas mark 6.
