I remember chickening out on this ride when I was 15, but went on it again at 17, 19, 20, and 21. Every time I see this ride I will regret the time I chickened out. Classic. :D
i went on 2007 and the name still was Earthquake, anyway its cool when everybody is screaming at first, then they laugh nerviously and then they're like if nothing happened... so calm hehe. twister is a good one too!
i was there in 2001 and the ride was closed..that was a bummer..so thanks 4 putting it on here so i can see it as well..not going back very soon...to far...lol
"Disaster" is pretty good. The set up is you are an extra in a disaster movie. A few people from the audience are picked for special roles. They still do the earthquake thing at the end. Then they show you a trailer from the movie with shots of the audience spliced in. There's more to it than that, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
I remember going on this. The parts at the start showing how special effects worked was awesome. I remember a part where a guy from the audience "fell" down a destroyed elevator shaft or something .Then there was this part and it was going awesome until, 10 minutes later, we watching the ride reset and the lights come on. It was funny seeing a truck "reverse" up a destroyed road! I think the idea was you "just" survived it but sped out of the tunnel, maybe they added a guy because it was buggy.
I went on this ride when I was younger. I got to be one of the dorky kids before the ride that got to pretend to be on a submarine to demonstrate how a green screen works, it was so much fun! though I'm not sure how my dad's arm stayed attached during the ride.I recall clinging to him for dear life when the truck came down because the my jerk of a father decided it would be funny to stick me on the outside of the car even though the attendant wanted me on the inside cause I was so small -_-;
Ive been going to Florida every year on august 6th since i was 4. I still go :) This was one of the best rides but i was scared shitless of Twister when i was 4 lol
i just went on "disaster" the other day... this last earthquake scene is about the same, the parts before it were changed a bit but the basic idea is the same. it's a bit more interactive and it has a couple of big name stars in it now, a nice refreshing upgrade to the old ride.
When I first went on it, my parents never told me it was called Earthquake. I thought it was just a subway that transports you to the other side of the park or something. So when the ride started breaking down, I thought it was a REAL earthquake. Then they told me it was just the ride and I was mad at my parents lol.
I rode this ride back in 1995 when I was 10years old. It freaked me out. The part when the water comes out was the worst part for me. It is pretty cool though.
I was chosen twice for the demonstration. The first time (1995) I was a shopper simulating being in an earthquake. The second time (2007) I was on a 'boat'
you must be mistaken. this is Earthquake (now known as Disaster), and this wasn't replaced with King Kong (which actually closed in 2002), as for Kong burning down, that happened in the hollywood park. this is the Orlando theme park.
The truck was amazing!!!! I used to love this ride as a kid, and still do to this day. Now Universal made a movie ride out of this, and I really don;t like it.
i went on this when i was 4 and now i forgot the name and only renebered the truck and getting wet AND I LOVED IT!!!!!! never went on it again but i want to
i went on this ride two weeks ago, they change the name and add some hollywood effects to make an action movie it was AMAZING by the way the ride is now called DISASTER!
well i went on this in 1998 and it scared me shitless then, probably still does the same to kids now lol. i was 8 when i went on it so you can work out how old i am now :P
It's a 'ride' designed to mimic an actual earthquake in a 'mock' San Francisco under-ground train tunnel, otherwise known as BART. Complete with lound noises of bending steal, the street above gives away and a semi-truck falls in to the tunnel, lots of shaking motion and a water main breaks and floods the tunnel. In short: a simulated earthquake.
on all the rides here besides Twister and Men in black i had no idea what was going on till the last min so i alwayed FREAKED OUT BIG TIME. And i was only 6 YEARS OLD!
this ride used to really scare me when i was little.lol but i was thought it was like magic when every thing would just go back to the same way it was at first O_O
Oh my God, thank you for the memories, I remember going on this ride back in the day, when I was about 12, loved it, man I miss my childhood! :(
man how much i miss these rides is incredible. my childhood...:(
I remember chickening out on this ride when I was 15, but went on it again at 17, 19, 20, and 21. Every time I see this ride I will regret the time I chickened out. Classic. :D
I miss this Fantastic Ride, truly smashing 😁😃😁😃😁
omg i LOVE that ride! like when the roof cracked and all the cars slid down and the train was gonna run into us! it was so AWESOME!!!!
it is truly amazing that all of this resets in under 10 seconds. just the technology amazes me. it's fascinating!
i went on 2007 and the name still was Earthquake, anyway its cool when everybody is screaming at first, then they laugh nerviously and then they're like if nothing happened... so calm hehe. twister is a good one too!

ha I remember this like it was yesterday, haven't been there since I was like 6 but it was fun. I wana go back :)
I would totally cry my eyes on on this ride, especially the water part. It's like my nightmare come to life.
I got so claustraphobic on the ride. I didn't realize it would be so realistic !! It was an experience to remember.

Very! Especially if you are seated along the outside of the car! Thanks for watching!
I live in NY, so I never really understood why it would flood during an Earthquake, but I still liked the ride :)
This was the only ride i remembered from the first time I went there
my dad told me about this ride when i was a kid, thought id check it out! looks amazing
I remember going on this. The parts at the start showing how special effects worked was awesome. this ride never gets old
I LOVED THAT RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!

my friend jumped on me when we rode this ride during our chorus trip lol . it was sooo funny .
Ive been going to Florida every year on august 6th since i was 4. I still go :) This was one of the best rides but i was scared shitless of Twister when i was 4 lol

Been orlando twice, their theme parks are amazing.
I was so scared on this ride when I was little. I was litterally crying. I was like maybe eight years old at the time.
this was my favorite part of the tour. :D
I went last year and this was my favourite ride!!!
:)
When I first went on it, my parents never told me it was called Earthquake. I thought it was just a subway that transports you to the other side of the park or something. So when the ride started breaking down, I thought it was a REAL earthquake. Then they told me it was just the ride and I was mad at my parents lol.
i loved this ride, its truely amazing, so much fun.
And to think my parents almost dragged me onto this at age 8! Thank god I screamed the place down and refused to go on it lol
I rode this ride back in 1995 when I was 10years old. It freaked me out. The part when the water comes out was the worst part for me. It is pretty cool though.
OMG I loved this ride. I used to almost shit my pants at that fiery truck part! XD

I've been to the Back Lot Tram Tours in California, I remember being very frightened thinking that it was the real deal earthquake.
OMG i loved this ride!! just before the earthquake happened i looked at my waterbottle and it was jumping it's was so cool

Its the best part there!

I love all the rides there i live like 5 min down the rode from U S we r there every other week!!
I went on this in '92 and i'm full sure that at the end someone shouted "cut" and they made out you were just part of a movie.
By far the best ride at Universal
i was 6 when i first went on this, and it scared the hell out of me
"We just experience a slight tremor. There's no danger." RIGHT........
ive been on this ride it was awesome :) i remember a woman about my parents age screaming her head off when i was just looking around
This Ride is very well its so cool ive been on it
i was tinking that too!!! also they need to make an interactive Halo park. that wud be beast!
I cries on this ride. It scared the snot outta me.
i went on this ride when i was 4 and i screamed and cryed like crazy
in my opinion this is the best ride at universal!
Best bit for me was the falling truck crashing through the roof.
I was chosen twice for the demonstration. The first time (1995) I was a shopper simulating being in an earthquake. The second time (2007) I was on a 'boat'
i freakin love this ride!!!
OMG that was 1 of my fave rides in Universal studios florida!! Did u go on the one with da Tornado? Loved that one 2!!
I went on when i was 3 and i freaked out, had nightmares for a year.
like twister, this ride would make me cry cause it's so sad to see everything destroyed, and it's happening in the world right now.
Loved this ride
you must be mistaken. this is Earthquake (now known as Disaster), and this wasn't replaced with King Kong (which actually closed in 2002), as for Kong burning down, that happened in the hollywood park. this is the Orlando theme park.
i remember i was crying so hard during this i was like 3 years old
LOVE THIS RIDE
I been on this ride & It's so much fun!
that ride is so awesome.
Earthquake The Ride was 10x better than "Disaster" because Earthquake was A LOT more realistic.
imagine if an earthquake actually happened while you were on that ride..."woah this is more realistic than I thought it'd be...wait...oh shit..."
This looks a whole lot better than what they have here in California. The one they have is about 2 minutes and is part of the Backlot tour ride.
I like how they remade the Bart Station :)
THIS WAS EPIC
I love how everything repairs itself lol
The truck was amazing!!!! I used to love this ride as a kid, and still do to this day. Now Universal made a movie ride out of this, and I really don;t like it.
omg i love this ride sooo much
We went on this and we were still on the platform when the ride started and we freked out, lol. :D
This ride is sooo awsome!
i went on this when i was 4 and now i forgot the name and only renebered the truck and getting wet AND I LOVED IT!!!!!!
never went on it again but i want to
this makes me really sad..i had to move to California. Im really gonna miss this ride and the whole park. The on in hollywood doesnt even compare
i went on this ride two weeks ago, they change the name and add some hollywood effects to make an action movie it was AMAZING
by the way the ride is now called DISASTER!
Twister! Yeah, but I didn't do any video of that one. That one was wild!!! Thanks for watching!

Hahaha!! When I was little a few years ago I wasn't sure if this was real so i'd close my eyes and almost cry lol
I remember going on this ride when I was 11 now and I am 31 and it has not changed a bit
Same LOL!
Florida is awsome =)
this one seems much better than the new one
awsome ride i miss it already
this ride is awesome!
i remember this ride from a kid!!!
THIS RIDE WAS SO FUCKING FUN!!! I SCREAMED WITH MY FRIENDS SO LOUD!!! WE COULD FEEL THE INTENSITY OF THE FIRE ON OUR FACES!!
i remember my parents telling me if i didnt go on this ride they leave me behind
what would have made the ride even better is that dinosaurs pop out of nowhere and start taking back the earth
i loved this
1st: such a nice place
2nd: no lights?
3rd: earthquake
4th: hears screams
Can't wait till i get on this thing. it sucks that i came across this though because now i know there's an earthquake.
well i went on this in 1998 and it scared me shitless then, probably still does the same to kids now lol.
i was 8 when i went on it so you can work out how old i am now :P
the mummy is so fucking scary out of nowhere, in random parts of the ride, mummys pop out at you.
its the same game but now you are doing a kind of movie and you interpret the actors:D
