My mom, dad, and I were amongst the first to ride this when it was in "soft-opening" at Universal Studios Florida in 1991. I will always remember my first trip Back to the Future!
This used to be my favorite ride when I was little. The last time I rode this was around 2001. I can't believe they closed this down! Especially when there were far worse rides than this :(
i rode this ride for the first time just several days before they took it down! i wish they would bring this amazing ride back. The park just isnt the same without it.
I remember for the first time when I went on this ride when I was like three or four, I thought I was actually going into the real Delorean and going back and time and into the future. It was so amazing!!! I don't know why the took the ride out.
Want to see BTTF: The Ride 2..? We have the ears of Universal Studios and the films creators! The final episode of the official BTTF game is near, emotions and ideas are running wild with Telltale, the original BTTF cast, and Universal Studios. Now is the perfect time to show just how popular the film really is, and how its fan base continues to grow due to its timeless story line and amazing cast...
That is so awesome!!! I wish I would have been able to ride this ride. Just from this video it gave a better sense of what the ride did. I have the 30th Anniversary DVD of the Back to the Future trilogy and the ride is on the Back to the Future part 3 disc and from watching it, it didn't do justice of what the ride was actually like. Also, at the very end of the video, people better have seen part 3 or they just saw a spoiler of how it ended...lol. I loved seeing the people in line laughing.
'94..Back when the fashion was better, back when people actually paid attention to the videos and actually LAUGHED at them too. Lol I was like 3 in '94
cant believe it was there in 1992 and now am going in march with my kids from ireland ..heard jaws was closing for crappy potter..now ive seen back to the future is gone..arghhhhhh....both are timeless classics sure youve got to move forward but dont throw out fantastic themed classics ..my kids luvvv back to the future movies have them on dvd and bluray and jaws..now the journey from Ireland to Florida seems less attractive...bring it back.....pleeese.....ya dont mess up a good thing..
This is when Universal was special. Brought a tear to my eye. Ride the movies...? More like ride some old tat and a cartoon that is fading fast. All they has to do was tweak the ride based on the best trilogy of all time... Back To The Future!
I have just seen this and found out they have closed the ride. I visited US in 94 & 95. This was without a doubt the best ride of its type and blew my mind the 1st time I went on it. I am gutted that I will not be able to take the trip again. Gutted.
I remember I went on this when I was 5. I got so scared and pretty much closed my eyes the whole time. LOL I was such a whimp. I wish it was still there because looking at it now, I think it would be fun!
Yeah there was dude. You go in the elevator just before boarding the Delorean. In the elevator also was a copy of the letter used in Back To The Future 1 that Marty wrote to Doc warning him of the Lybians shooting him dead back in 1984.
i was fortunate to ride this it was the best ride in universal studios and probably disney world though for sure a top five road compared to the disney world rides to
I remember I was on that ride. It was so realistic, like you were actually in that town. I know that's the whole point, but It was a little more that what I expected. I went on that ride for the first time in 98'
I feel like crying...Universal just doesn't have anything to offer anymore. No Back to the Future, no King Kong, no Ghostbusters, no Alfred Hitchcock, and no more Nickelodeon. I feel like my childhood has disintegrated.
I went on this ride when I was five...and I was crying and closing my eyes the whole time. I was such a whimp. :P But now that I look at it it actually looks fun and I wish I could try it again! That sucks that they got rid of it. I don't even like the Simpsons, but the Back to the Future movies are great! lol
the simpsons ride is cool but i really wish they kept this ride. my uncle was telling me about it while we were waiting in line and he said it used to be his favorite.
What is wrong with Universal Studios? This is the best ride they've ever had. I went on this ride in Florida and was going to take my family on it in California during our summer vacation. Imagine my dismay when I discovered it had been removed and replaced with "The Simpsons"; a show which I've never watched. I did enjoy the ride but it doesn't compare to BTTF. Please bring this ride back!!!
I just bought a Delorean and I always said when I get a Delorean I want to put the horn from the ride on it. 0:42 does anyone know where i could find that horn kit?
@Tonytambe what are you talking about? "Men in Black: Alien Attack" isn't an original ride at Universal. That ride opened in 2000, 10 years after the park first opened and it's still in operation at Universal Orlando.
Apparently the ride still exists in Osaka, Japan at Universal Studios Japan. Of course that's all the way in Japan...At least it still exists in some form.
I remember riding this when I was like 9 back in 2000 and absolutely loved it :)
My mom, dad, and I were amongst the first to ride this when it was in "soft-opening" at Universal Studios Florida in 1991. I will always remember my first trip Back to the Future!
That epic music always brings a tear to my eye and reminds me of my Florida holidays as a kid. I was so lucky..

This was by far, my favorite ride at Universal.
Crying :'( I used to have this on vhs and used to watch it all the time when I was little with my brother. I wanna go back to the good ole days!
I got to ride on this when I was 5... it was pretty much the greatest thing ever. I feel 5 again just watching this.
Please--bring this ride Back to the Future....This was my favorite attraction at Universal. Thanks for posting....
wow! I remember that ride when I was a kid. So many great memories made at universal studios.
Damn, the narrator made this ride sound like a monumental epic. And rightfully so :)
UGH '94 I was 5 years old, loved it!
Never went on the one in Florida but the one in California I would ride every time I went on it. A piece of 90's history lost forever.
Should've never got rid of this, so many memories riding this growing up. I did too hope to take my kids on it someday.
Dude....that sux, it was probably the greatest ride i've ever been on.

I love the classy feel of adverts from this period. It's actually believable and genuine, their park is slowly becoming a joke now.
That is so awesome!!! I wish I would have been able to ride this ride. Just from this video it gave a better sense of what the ride did. I remember going on this as a kid. The only part I really remember was going down the dinosaurs mouth.
Nothing against new rides, but why not keep this classic and amazing ride? I had a great time. Thanks for the video.
Now see, why would they close this down? Honestly. It's Back to the Future. Nothing is better than that.
i was there on that ride, three years later.

Reminds me of the Star Wars ride at Disneyland.
