- Rosendo welds out a 2G back grind! Another very common test for structural welding. Pay attention to this very educational video. Welding with 7018 stick rod all the way out!

This guy gives the best explanation and technique for this welding position. I was getting mad undercut using the technique my instructor taught me. Running the beads in a small circle pattern is much more comfortable and makes it easier to fill in that top bevel. Cheers!
I’m so happy you added that’s slag removal that was super necessary and satisfying as hell. Y’all are great thanks for the guidance y’all kick ass ✊🏻
Very informative. Directions were clear. Good qualities of a teacher.
Thank YOU for taking the time to show this!!!
My 2G test is a 3/32 gap between the plates using a 6010 for the root pass.. wish my test was this easy
I saw this and was damn that’s way easier than the shit I have to do..my test at school is the exact same as yours
Same
Same
Same.
Damn we gotta do a 1/8 inch gap
I always did that position using a 2.5mm 7018 for the root and for the hot pass and cap with a 3.25mm 7018 but the technique is literally that spot on you guys are 5 stars 💪🏻
You explained did a great job! I understand what to expect now, Thanks!
I always learn from you guys!! THANK YOU!!
GREAT TEACHER! GREAT VIDEO FROM a Old School WELDER , EXCELLENT WORK!
Got a sub from me, you are a excellent teacher, I've tried watching other people and this by far is the best explanation and filming.
Hi. I'm a welder and I teach English through your videos. I understand you the most
Good looking welds, will keep some of your tips in mind on my open root grooves
muito bom !! nice to see this young generation , with much love and atention to details , nice video my friend , 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Very good video Rosendo
You are a good teacher
Rodriguez you are a boss in welding !
Can't wait to get in the shop and practice this technique
His a great teacher he really helps you and he would tell you where you made your mistakes and show you how to do it in so many ways and the school is amazing and the people are friendly and helpful south coast welding academy is a school worth going its worth it if anyone is thinking about going don't be afraid to go if you got a diploma or don't you still can go if yall work no problem they got morning and evening classes and no i don't work there anything im a student who is attending right now
how much did it cost for the class and how long was it?
Good job, thanks for sharing with us.
Horizontal overhand was my favorite position but overhead was a close second. 27 years, I welded on everything from structural, ornamental, mechanical and was also pressure vessel certified. I use to build airvac tanks for cruise ships or basically anything that processed waste. Those tanks moved material at 2700 fps. Ever seen a ballistic turd? Lmao true story. Mild, tool steel, stainless and abrasive resistant. AR plate is pretty amazing stuff. SMAW, mig, tig, oxy acetylene and brazing. I loved doing my job. Built some pretty awesome machines. Worked some very prestigious jobs but hands down my favorite Old #7, largest blast furnace in the western hemisphere. Produced 7 tonnes of steel a minute. Stood 360 feet high and when they knocked the bottom out of it, that shit was spiritual! Feeling the ground rumble and the roar would reverberate. An incredible feeling to experience and years later I can still feel it. ISG is an incredible place to to work. Makes a man remember just how small we really are. After a broken neck and back I can not do it any longer but hands down, I loved my job. Worked jobs all over America. That being said I fucking hated welding anything with 60 series electrodes. I'd rather slow jerk a mall Santa. Welded millions of square feet of decking with 6022 but other than that, 60 series is nothing more than a coat hanger trash rod. Thinking of going back to school to obtain a AWS CWI. Maybe one Day but for now imma arm chair welder lol so get'er done or take a soap stone and write hard on it and I'll get it
You do the same video but on 3G and 4G STICK please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
I love what you do a lot
That was a great example, thanks for the sample, example.
Thank you that was very educational
You are a good teacher. Love it. Love to stay contact.
Good job keep it up boddy!!
Chingon !!! Gracias Rosendo
Very good, since Colombia thank you, send more videos
Rosendo is an amazing welder
Good explaining only input I have to give. Is that the camera man should have showed the puddle so it can give an idea of what is going on with the puddle when you are welding
More power and like the video from the Philippines
Thank you for taking questions. I rally need a bit of help for my next block at welding school where the grading gets more strict. Please, when you say that you always push, ar you not dragging the 7018?
and i need help popping off--finishing the bead. it always looks like shit. how do you do that?
Thanks for the info 👍
You grinded that root pass immediately
Good info. What safety glasses are those? Thanks.
I like this guy 😂
Nice job sir
Hi Rosendro. Right now I am a student in welding class. I am having 2G practice. When I am doing it my hand always going down after some minutes from the starting point. Please give me tips how to keep my hand go horisontally. Big thanks dude
Rosendo, what sleeves are you using brother? I've been looking for good pair, as my old ones are falling apart and the leather shop I got them from closed down. Thanks!
That hood is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
very nice!
Do you have a video where the camera is on the other side so we can see the toes better as you are welding.
I'm new to welding but I don't know how to configure the welding machine in 2g because the rod doesn't turn on but if I put it on the table it does turn on
I feel kinda lame for it but I really appreciate the “ladies and gentlemen” like…thank you feels nice to be included 🥲
Some of the best welders at our company are female . Gender is not in the equation! Welder ! Also as a side note . Most tig and heliarc specialty welders are female ! 👌! Bless you all and stay safe out there!
Me gusta este video , espero hagan uno así en español. Good
Se gue estos videos ya tienen bien tiempo pero son de buena alluda para los que estamos comenzando em esta profesión mil gracias
Grind both parts back to back.
Makes matching lands on the bevel.
Can you give my tips and something to do it more better my welding plate test to next time l feel my test yesterday the 3g plate welding tesr
Not pertinent to Stick, but can y’all do a 2G on some big Dual Shield production wire, like 3/32 or bigger.? Love the content!
Are you using a cutting wheel to grind the bottom bevel?
Yes sir we want to see your 3G & 4G position if possible more videos to come wish you all the best
What's the degree of the bevel? So theres no gap at all inbetween the plates? 🤔
Does anyone know what the preparation angle of the bevel on each plate is.
Thanks
I can't find any of your videos about 2g open root with 6010 as a root pass. Is this vid still the same concept if it's closed?
can you do one with a 3/32 gap
Great how to video weld tube. I was wondering if y’all can do one on how not to get undercut on my root pass on pipe of course thanks. I was at work and got a report back from QC and their only concern was I had some undercut on the root pass

hello newbie student here do i need to cool it down before grinding it?
This was so important for me! I already got to have some electrodes to smash.
pls ur teaching is amezine
Are you doing a push? Not a pull? Been having trouble with this and vertical up can't tell the difference between flux and puddle
I’m doing a 7018 horizontal stick cert test and I’m getting slag in my root every fuuucking time and don’t know what to do I keep on failing these tests because of it
Thanks man
The horizontal doesn’t take a gap?
Why am i going through metal on flux wire? Is it too much wire the angle or what... or going too slow
Ok guys nice video but can you teach us wich one is the real way to welld structure with 7018 plz give me some answer. Ty.
7018 3/32
Hey bro I’m in the industrial world and planing to go to school for welding Quick question why do they use an XRay to pass the weld please enlighten me, hoorah Simper fidelis
I thought we don't weave when welding in 2G, why tiny small circles?
But please how can I master all the Amps that will be used in every steps ??
do you let the plate rest in between passes?
🤷🏼♀️
How you get that helmet😪
Should I still know this? Because right now I’m only 18, and I’m a senior in high school still, even though I I have welded at my school before?
Yes, you still need to. Its part of the course
Why 130 amp on 7018?
I can smell it. sometimes weld smells like burning green pepper and I can smell BBQ after all :)
It would be nice to see a video on how to do a tie end on tig if you were to stop on walking the cup
WELDTUBE: We need a video on how and when to add filler metal. There are so many gtaw vids but they all show the torch only. I'm having trouble feeding rod. PLEASE HELP!!!
You really want a constant feed into the weld puddle if your burning hot. If your welding cold, just dab into the puddle. Im sure some internet expert welder will answer this.
Todos sus videos son muy buenos pero me gustaría que fueran en español
for me it’s the root pass but eventually i got the hang of it
No rush no rush… *ZZZZZIIP*
It's weird not seeing a gap for the root
I think I missed your bevel angle? is it 50?
30 to 33 degrees for me
@@Bigknucklesandhands ok, so about a 60 degrees total
Yo that cap looks rough g
Let's see some thin wall pipe with the stick welder
Stick on thin wall? Why not mig or tig?
Our procedure calls for 1/8” gap for plate. Doesn’t say anything about a landing for all positions
Look how wet this guy is at the end. Its hard work.
The best 's

i didnt get to use a grinder during the weld out
Key words “during the weld out”🤦♂️
What do you mean by weld out? I am new to welding lingo so I’m just curious
Tarantula Fingers he means the actual process of welding the coupon out, from the point of getting it tacked and put in position and bought off to begin the test. lots of test shops will not allow you to use more that a file and wire brush during the test to assure you are cream of the crop!
@@renoschneider145 Thank you, that makes sense
🌸👍👌 halo teknik dalam pengelasan Bagus👍 salam dari 🇮🇩 Indonesia go jop
It looks like the gap closes up
I’m technically stick welding with my tig torch with the amount of sparks that fly off it...
Great camera work!
We probably have a better view of the puddle than you do.
How thick is the plate?
bring back the beard
Wish i had a OUTLAW welding mask.😞
So hold on.. your gonna take it..right?... on each corner???
ممكن الترجمة بالعربي
I want to see a video were you weld something thin and rusty as hell something more complicated
Why not just drag it? I drag and get the same look and passed for 2,3&4 g backgrind. Granted not everyone is the same.
Did u have a gap or no? I have the same tests coming up if FL
