The Flying Sterling (Emily & Henry's Themes Mashup)

- I never thought I'd do something like this one. Been a while since I did a S3/4 Henry mashup, I think it's been 2 years since the last one. Commissioned by StarThomUnderNinja, here is The Flying Sterling.
Similar to Old Iron Square Wheels, I've took Henry's percussion and tempo and laced the melody of Emily's Theme on top as well as the accompanying instruments in her theme. Another thing in here, is that the mid section is her Series 8 theme but re-written to match the rhythm of this one. Both Emily's and Henry's Themes share time signatures that can be blended with eachother whereas the Series 8 theme is a standard 4/4.

Before you decided to ignore this comment as it usually gets brushed over, let’s be honest here.
While I know a lot of you enjoy the recreations of O'Donnell and Campbell's legendary work for TTTE. I'd also really appreciate if you'd take a look at music I've written too. I'm looking to experiment and expand as a composer to test my range and ideas, the Thomas stuff is nostalgic and everything but the original works is what I really enjoy to work with. Quick question: Are the commissioned themes you put up on your channel free for use, or do I need specific permission from you or the person who purchased it?
First Henry and Spencer, then Arthur and now Emily. This was bound to happen sooner or later as Emily and Henry had a great dynamic in season 7. Also I love how you mixed her season 7 and 8 theme together while still keeping Henry's theme in this as well. Keep up the good work Ty!

The Series 7 dynamic between Henry and Emily is something I wish we got to see more of

I LOVED this so much. It felt like a faster version of Emily's theme. I can imagine this being played when Emily rescues Henry and brings him home or to the Steamworks. I am adding this to my favourites 😀.
Or when Emily flies along the line with the Kipper behind her, feeling scornful that she has to take a goods train of all things, only for her to (and in typical fashion) crash.
I always thought Henry and Emily were cute together. Victor Tanzig confirmed this when he made them married in his series. But this theme proves both right. Perfect mashup. Can imagine this playing when Emily took the flying kipper for Henry in Emily’s Rest Cure

absolutely loved it! i think Emily is probably the most underrated of all the core engines later on. she deserves more spotlight and i loved what you did here. sounds like she is pulling or helping to pull a full train of passengers.

I agree. She is quite underrated and she's one of my favorite characters, at least the season 7 version of her.
This mashup is a little faster considering that Emily was an express engine but still has the same beat from Henry’s theme. Really good mashup theme!

Henry honestly blends really well with the S7 newbies (not sure about Fergus though).
This is magnificent! This would have been great soundtrack if they make an episode about Emily’s past when she was a premier express engine along with her siblings who helped build the GNR heritage, or for her occasional express run. It’s retains the grace of her theme yet in fast bold express vibes.
Now this should've been played in the UK dub of What's the Matter with Henry? In Hartshorne's music, he only used Emily's theme which actually gives a more solid moment within her character.
Emily and Henry's themes sounds so good it's a great combination you always do great with mashup Thomas and friends themes. Mike and junior would be happy you're passing on good Thomas music like they used to do you're doing good so far!
Woah, I wasn't expecting a mashup of Henry & Emily's Themes to sound as good as this!
Another wonderful composition Sudrian Afro! It matches both characters perfectly! I can see Emily bringing an ill Henry to the Works, or helping him with the Express like Edward did.

The Flying Sterling…
Pretty appropriate for this soundtrack name since ironically Engines like Emily used to pull a train called “The Flying Scotsman”. Her brothers and sisters were part of the GNR which later became the LNER some time later.
Honestly, I kind of like this better than the original version of Emily's theme. It has much more momentum, and the Season 8 reference is a nice touch.

I like this a lot, I do, but I wish Henry's theme had some time to shine a bit more than being the background, kinda like Old Iron Catapiliers, where you used both themes in that way
