Happy Birthday!!! My Death is definitely on my list now! And Iâm also so happy you talked about loving Writers & Lovers as well, I put it on my list foreverrr ago and youâve rekindled my excitement about it!
Happy belated birthday! I had the same issues with the first book in the Neapolitan Quartet and, like you, the people around me have been pushing me to pick up book two swearing I will change my mind. Knowing that you went through the same thing makes me much more inclined to scoop it up this summer.
wooo woo happy birthday!! i rlly need to get to splinters soon, i feel like i would love it. also makes me so excited to hear you loved the last sane woman bc itâs one that got brought up as a pick for the book club im in & i hadnât heard anything about it before!
thank you!! i canât recommend splinters enough, definitely not a light read but itâs so well done. the last sane woman would be a great book club pick i think, there are a lot of themes and ideas to unpack!!
Happy Birthday! Iâm so glad to be reminded about The Last SaneWoman! Iâm searching for it on my library site. đđ. Maybe Iâll try that second book of the Neapolitan series!
hbd bb!!! OOF both you and Sophie have sold me on My Little Death! Will be waiting for the next NYRB sale lol also, if you are wary about Ali Smithâs prose from what you said about narrative, i say call it quits! i donât think narrative structure is key for her. it really is exploration of language and wordplay.
thank you â€ïžâđ„ omg i would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on my death, i feel like you would have some really great takes on it!! ugh yeah i think youâre probably right about ali smith. i might still try how to be both since i already own it but not gonna push it otherwise. sucks because i enjoy an exploration of language but somethingâs just not clicking for me
