Bring back the longer episodes please!!
How about they just make good episodes worth watching, the first 2 seasons were tolerable but this season should never have been aired.
Completely agree. My wife and I thought that by the second episode, but it really showed during the last two content episodes. It was just so obvious that they cut out a massive chunk of what it took for them to make videos, or even making them in the first place. While even last year it's clear they need a better preselection process (because it was obvious who was getting it by Ep 2), it provided a way better connection with the riders and all they had to do to prove themselves. Because this season's episodes were so short, we didn't get much of the riders themselves and thus it just felt like they did half what the riders did the last few years. Of course that's untrue, but man is it so disappointing to see a change made to the series that made it worse rather than better. To be clear, still entertaining enough, but forgettable.
Everyone freezing and hunkering under blankets... Tarmo looking like yeah this is the mild Finnish weather.
just give tarmo the contract already
fr
yeah but he’s not the “full package”🤓
Tarmo's doing every mtbers dream to go fast, be in control, not die, and WIN. Get it bro, you deserve it!
His riding looks so effortless, like he was just casually riding down the hill. Nothing extra, just fast, efficient biking. I haven't seen anyone make riding look so easy. It is wonderful. Like a master craftsman.
One of the problems this series has always had is that there were maybe 2 riders you could tell would win by day one. I think there’s a lot of improvement here in picking the contestants. I know it’s hard to tell by videos, but maybe there should be a qualifying type challenge from, say, 20 riders? Then narrowing down from there for who would make it to the actual production. Theres almost no mystery or anticipation as the episodes progress and overall is not as engaging as it could be.
It's not really about competition though. They knew who they(the manufacturer) were going to pick BEFORE the series started. These "reality" series are not real.
@@briangarner Even if that's the case, the point of a reality show is to be entertaining to the viewer. If the audience can tell, it's not very entertaining is it?
@@wumbobo Yes I agree :)
The worst part from this year is that I still don't know half of the competitors
Someone's on the screen and I don't know who this is
Dumbest show on the internet, there's no fixing this abomination to MTB'ing, just let it die, swiftly!
The Flying Finn deserves the win!!! Go Tarmo!!!
Frustratingly difficult to figure out what the heck Orbea is looking for here. Yea, they say Total Package enough but it doesn’t seem like that’s a clearly defined set of characteristics.
Seems to me like more than better or worse, each rider is just very different. Eric seems like the male who is most well rounded (maybe that’s a bad thing if they want a female rider for marketing/racing/etc tho?), Tarmo is the obvious choice from a race perspective (and looks like every clip of him is an insane speed fest), Max clearly is already a semi-pro and super rad content creator who has a following, Mia seems like she has more fun on camera personality than Brittney but Brittany seems a bit quicker and more polished as a rider/racer.
Not sure I really care who wins at this point, but I am fascinated/frustrated enough by the elusive “judging criteria” that I’ll begrudgingly watch one more episode.
I suspect they are just leaning heavily on that so that it doesn't seem like Tarmo has won already. To try and keep a little bit of suspense.
It's sad, but the reality is that a Social Media influencer sell more than a pro rider.
Do the hosts even ride bikes.. XD
Who else thinks this thing about being "The whole package" is a bit B.S.? If you are not on the Podium yes, you better bring more diversity to what you can offer. Even the Orbea marketing dude stated it. They want to be able plug someone into a position that works for them. Yes, they want someone that can win races. But since they have committed financially to that person if that person cannot show results Orbea wants to get something out of their investment. No different than any other company. Do we see Jesse or Ritchie on social media constantly? No. Occasionally yes.
I think someone just thinks it's the best joke ever to have everyone say they're looking for the "full package".
I like the hosts and I think they're doing a good job but they have way more screen time than the contestants!
The series is almost done and we barely got to know them.
This is the season I liked the least, the format and decisions just felt weird.
I think it would be nice if contestants are given 4-5 challenges at the beginning before the series starts voting people out.
season 2 is the best for sure.
Agreed S1+2 there was way more rider/character development. This felt like six minutes of MTB and 20 minutes of show structure elimination 💩
the hosts are the worst, well 1 of them is.
@@mikeloamzzz9593 i totally agree, i watch it for the riding and tips. i hate all these shows thats draws out the elims, maybe if i was there in person i'd be more nervous and for the contestants thats what they want.
I feel like the producers might have been hamstrung by the sponsors. I can imagine that the Orbea rep was there during the filming and even in post production giving "tips" on how he thinks the series should look and the director had little choice to but to grin and bear his suggestions.
I think Tarmo and Eric could get better contracts with cooler bike brands than Orbea. For me Orbea sound like a washing machine or a kitchen aid 😂
well, they can change sponsors after joining orbea, just like the season 1 winner, which disappointed orbea
@@vtwl24 Well to be fair, Evan hasn't exactly posted stellar race results, so Orbea wasn't losing an EWS team slot to a guy who has had one top 15 result. Flo has been pretty competitive though for her first season as a factory rider (she was a privateer for a bit before PBA) even getting a podium.
I can’t wait for Tarmo to lose pba because reasons and to be immediately picked up by a better bike brand and start getting serious results!
That segment about Tarmo was the first time I felt really inspired by anyone on this show.
The girls are neither talented enough nor interesting enough to win (and that includes Mia’s “character”). Flo was legit last season, but these two are minutes behind the guys on short stages . Tarmo is a pro and he’s interesting b/c he’s not trying so hard to *seem* interesting. I want to follow his career and know we’ll learn more about him over time. Eric and Max would both probably be good ambassadors in different ways, but they aren’t the rocket ship that Tarmo is. The real question is does Tarmo want to ride for Orbea or will he be better off on another team?
On the money.
This series is a great add for GoPro
The more you try to make it like Survivor, the less enjoyable it is.
Ohhhhh Orbea could be looking for someone to be a content creator not a racer. I never thought of that. It may not matter how fast you are depending on what they're looking for. Also, one gender may not even have a chance depending on what they want.
It's kinda hard to improve when the conditions are polar opposite of the first race..
Again, too much time spent on the deliberation (on last episode), it was pretty obvious they are not gonna send Eric home.
And some of the editings were off, like first they show Eric riding the stage and next it's Tarmo at the end of the stage?!?
Thank you so much Mia for making a point of inclusive sports. It matters and makes all the difference to hear that not just in my head.
Cam is the man!!
Writing this as a fan of the series, but sorry pink bike, this season wasn’t as good as the first 2 seasons. Please make it good again for season four!!!
I like the effort they put into this, but it just misses the mark so badly
I'm going for the free rider all the way
🤘🍻
Should totally do an episode after the initial timed race based around coaching and learning the track and parts to hit hard and such before racing it again.. Additionally, an episode like that could have a social media aspect to it with understanding how to get content and still be focused on learning in the process.
such good contestants this year. its hard to pick who you want to root for!
Top of the series in the world this stuff
E-bike💀
They need to do all female or all male casts. To stoke the competition
EZ4TARMO
Love it
Amazing 🎉😂😂
Would be sick if they showed everyone's Top to bottom runs . Other than that it's a sick show
Yea, release the RAW runs as a separate video.
Should be bonus footage on YT
Yeah! At least one top to bottom from everyone. There’s not one, from anyone. 🤷♂️
They still managed more than EWS haha!
What's not to like about Canada and their love of beer.
Let's make these an hour long!
Tarmo are continous sets of Flying Finns!
so it is not an academy but a job interview ;d
Worst season so far. Bring back the secret pro and please drop the idea of the "total package". Make two series: one for real racers and one for freeride content creators. It's so much more engaging to think of someone like Tarmo who is ready for elite racing to get an opportunity to do it through a series like this if he is the fastest. Racing is very expensive and most folks can't afford it. A series like this should focus on the top performing athlete getting a chance to race in the big leagues and then follow their pro season to see how they do. I'll skip next season if it's still about the total package.
Yes, and I still feel like that no one knows what the "whole package" means
@@ollizz I don't understand why people it's so confused about the "total package" deal. I'm pretty sure they want someone who can get podiums and still have a lot of engagement on social media. For brands, riders aren't just someone to just finish 1st anymore but also who can market their brand on social media. It's pretty obvious if you see how many "ambassadors" are out there that are ex-racing riders or content creators.
I think it's pretty safe to assume that Orbea wants someone to do everything.
If the Joker would race Batmans Batmobile on a mountainbike, it would be on Mia's mtb. Crazy Joker themed colour and awesome speed
This season is so short , episodes were easily cut by half in length . Any guesses as to why ?
It's NOT a TOUGH ONE. #JusticeForTarmo
Brittany and Eric seem to have thing going on.
This season seems to have lost it edge.. nowhere near as good as the last two.. and Gully talking about personality… seriously, the guys is as exciting as a lump of wood.
Getting boring... Bring back secret pros, more riders with big cuts and focus on performance. Whole package just means you want a marketing influencer.
I really enjoyed the first two seasons, but this one is horrible. Bearly see their riding. And it's hard to actually get to know the riders. I like the commentators, but the judging seems off, they tend to say the same thing every week with no real context. Not to mention the challenges are not fitting of what they actually want. This season lacks cohesiveness and intentionality.
I loved seeing the riders push themselves to the breaking point in the previous seasons. That's where we saw their personalities shine. It was also motivating as a rider. This season is really missing that. Eg the dual slalom was only 2 races each. Come on, they could have mixed and matched more then that.
If they wanted to mix it up, a point system would make more sense and keep everyone till the end. This also gives the audience a chance to vote for who they wanted as a runnerup. #longrant
Another episode where nothing happens
This show really took a turn BUT… MOTO MAX ALL THE WAY
Yeah...This is getting cancelled after this season, no doubt about it now.
Please get rid of the current HOST and go back to season 2, Katie is all but drooling over MIA. very unprofessional, Christina is an amazing host..
too much bla bla bla, not enough riding
The cheesy "reality TV" aspect of this show is absolutely making it worse. Id rather watching MTB influencer tik toks all day.
such a non natural acting, pretty not satisfying to watch
this was crazy! I think this season was definitely better than season 1.
u crazy? szn 1 was elite
This is exactly what my 12yo daughter would say.
NO. WAY. JUST. NO.
Cannot stand Mia. She thinks she is fun, but she isn't.
Mia is super annoying
Why do you guys have a gay flag and not a Canadian flag? Well, I think this is the last episode that I watch
for just a flag?
Praise I had the exact same thoguht
Like it just wasn’t necessary
@@AlexanderBallot I think its like a subtle thing to say that everyones matters (and I believe its techicly not the gay flag. bc it had more than rainbow. but for most its prob the same.)
@J V
just for that.
And why have a flag that represents sexuality, pleasure without purpose, delusional ideologies, and promoting war because it also has the Ukraine colors. The Canadian flag represents a nation that fought for the freedom of men and women of Canada 🇨🇦. By the way, I'm not Canadian
Weird how the last challenge is a race, when they complained that they have to many racers and are looking for Cringe “content ‘creators’” that have the fundamentals of MTB… The show tries hard, especially on the hosting side.
Yeah this season has been bipolar
I almost wonder if Orbea was contractually obligated for this one, so the winner may not actually get the 3rd EWS team slot. Orbea certainly doesn't need it having snagged Martin Maes last year
