  • Right after this photo was taken in August 1985, Janet Jackson boarded a plane and flew to Minneapolis, Minnesota and arrived at Flyte Tyme Studios 4330 Nicolett Avenue in Minneapolis, to begin recording her 3rd studio album.
    After a long introduction and discussion of her targets and ideas, she was presented with this track as a demo drawn up by the owning pair of James "Jimmy Jam" S. Harris and Terry S. Lewis. It was the first recording for the project, which concluded 6 weeks later.
    I don't really see many differences in this version, but I will upload it anyway.

    Pretty innovative for 1985! What were Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis' influences? There's Prince obviously...

    Thx. Wonder if Jimmy was using an Ensonic synth on this song? Also, the car crash sample sounds like the one on the extended version of, "Alphabet Street", by Prince.
