A quick look at my Mora Craftline Pro S I have been using for 2 months and my new Mora 511. They have some small differences but are essentially the same knife.
I love Mora's. Not only are they exceptional values for the money, but they out perform many knives that cost much more. I own many fixed blades, up to over 300$, yet I keep grabbing my Mora's for my everyday use. They just work, and if you lose it or break it, you're not out a bunch of money. You just grab another, and keep on cutting. Don't get me wrong, I love my higher end blades as well..they have their place..just depends on what you are doing, but the Mora's, for what they are made for, are awesome.
I have a Pro S, and love it. I haven't really found anything that I strongly dislike about it. Great knife at a great price. Surprisingly, I actually like it better than the Companion because of the way it feels in my hand. Fairly easy to sharpen too. With stropping I can get it shaving sharp. I like the stainless so much that I'm in no hurry to try the carbon.
I have no problem,,CARBON is my choice,I will do Patina myself and sharpening is easy..That’s my take on blade material...
I like the carbon blade, I got the morakniv robust. But with the humidity in my country, I very much prefer the stainless steel for daily chores. It resist rust better and save me time in cleaning the blade.
I was confused at the blade height difference when I bought 2 knives both advertised as the 511 (one from Atwood's and one from Amazon). I like the taller blade
The mora i see.....the mora i like....the mora i get! Lol.
If you own the 511 and 546, would the Pro be an advantage or improvement?
To me, there is an improvement. The pro series has a wider blade, meaning you will get more life out of the blade. The grip is better since it has the rubber material over mould.
These are the added feature that is worth the price to me.
That’s weird. I own many mora. Companions. Garberg. Kansbol. Eldris. Spark......etc. I bought a robust in carbon and it rusted sitting in my house. But all my other ones are stainless......and they do NOT rust. I’m curious........not owning either of these knives.....are they made of a different stainless steel than the others? I am an outdoorsman and a waterman.....I use them in wet environments all the time. A carbon would require way too much maintenance. Thanks for the video! Well made and super informative. If anyone out there is trying to decide if they want a Morakniv, trust me, they are excellent knives.
Chase Savant My Friend Carbon will slowly rust,to prevent that you put your own patina on it to prevent rusting. I have simple Mora Companion Carbon steel I put Patina on it(mustard, vinegar, lemon, lime, orange mix it looks like planet Jupiter 😂)and it never rusted..Also Carbon knives 🔪 are easy to sharpen..All Chef 👩🍳 knives 🔪 are Carbon for ease of Sharpening..People mostly use Stainless at Sea 🌊 and salty water..
Carbon steel is prone to rust, it needs a lot more maintenance, I rarely choose carbon steel blades, and only if they are factory coated in some rustproof material (such as the Ka-Bar clack coated blades).
FlorinU I agree ☝️,,Carbon steel is not for lazy people,,since it’s “Too Hard” to maintain and God forbid the sharpening part..That’s a Taboo..Best choice for lazy people is Flint Knife,no rust or maintenance required for the life of the Knife..
@@ilijabosnjak76 not all chef knives are carbon, just to clarify some of the more expensive Japanese Gyuto knives are carbon but the most commonly used (Victorinox) knives are 440c.
Another desktop fondling video lol
