    Hi. I have been watching the videos you make a lot over the past 2 months. I am a 22-year-old university student. The dizziness started 3 months ago with a general feeling of instability and dizziness. I have been dizzy 24/7. In the first month, the dizziness sometimes went away, but it has been chronically present for 9 weeks now. I do exercises on a balance ball and sometimes go for runs.
    The doctor showed a 24% decrease in my left ear and a 2% decrease in my right ear. He said I would get better with VRT therapy and VOR exercises in 8 weeks. Unfortunately, I do not feel any better and I do the exercises every day (50 minutes a day). My symptoms are oscillopsia, mild nystagmus, and constant dizziness, which disappear when I travel in a car. My head always clears up and I don't feel dizzy when I'm in a moving vehicle. I have terrible brain fog which makes my university life difficult. Severe stress and depression have developed, my condition is not really improving and I don't know why. Neurological causes have been ruled out (CT and MRI scans are clear and my blood work is completely fine).
    Can you say something about this because I am not getting any other help. Thank you very much.

      @@vincentvega3747 hi! until the fellow community member response to you I just wanted to share with you my cervicogenic playlist. It is very common for those with hypofunction to develop tightness in the neck because the neck overcompensates for the lack of inner ear function. Hopefully this helps ☺️czcams.com/play/PLxFNCwzw2eJ2EW_ZAqbjrFIsqc6A95e2H.html&si=nYniGKn7eUkKzGLD

    You've made me aware of a symptom I've never described to a PT or Dr. I'm at a porch party. It's crowded. Crossing the porch I need to step over and between many sets of feet and legs. I've needed support every time I've attempted something like that. I didn't recognize that as an individual symptom, but the crowded environment really throws me off.

      Yes, try to use eyes closed exercises to really ground and override the visual input when your out and about. Hopefully the video was useful ☺️

    Suffering from all you explained in this video (diagnosed with vestibular BPPV without vertigo due to untreated VZV in ear) Also suffer from neck injury, so many of the exercises bring on migraines. Thanks for your informative videos!

      So sorry for what you’re going through! Definitely check out my playlist on cervicogenic dizziness if you haven’t already. Sometimes it’s beneficial to calm the neck down before you can tolerate the exercises. Also, I have a video on troubleshooting your vestibular therapy, because it is very common to trigger migraines with vestibular therapy . My suggestion is to definitely break up Exercises throughout your day or throughout the week and try not to do too much at one time. The goal is definitely not to produce elevated symptoms or cause migraine. The good news is everything is modifiable. 😀

    Great information,you have such a fantastic knowledge base....the grounding is particularly helpful....I like to step forward with backfoot on toes eyes closed (in my head feels like a bowl of water sloshing back and forth,until comes to rest)...but after doing it a while I feel more stable,have to do it everyday as it does not stay....thanks again for all the expert advice.

    I have bilateral vestibular loss, but also strabism and fixation disputation. i, m waiting for a strabismoperation . There is little knowledge and explanation of this disease. What is the best exercise for this condition?

    • @treatdizzinessathome2023
      @treatdizzinessathome2023  Před 2 měsíci

      as far as the strabismus, it depends on the location or type. Does the eye sit up, down, in or out. Prisms or surgery with consultation from a neuro-optometrist or neuro-opthomolgist is the most appropriate provider to consult. The eyes do need to be in proper alignment for you to have success with many of these vestibular exercises. I have had patients with eye misalignement from stroke, tumor, concussion, and vestibular disease of the otoliths- so I guess I can say there are many causes but every case should be diagnosed by your provider if they can find the cause

      thank you i have multiple causes so it is hard to treat. i have a prism for my strabism exotropia and to help with the fixation disparaging, but the changing prisms also aggravate my dizziness. thank you for your response

    Hi thanks for the video. Just wanted to ask is it possible to completely stop the oscillopsia with bvl?

    • @treatdizzinessathome2023
      @treatdizzinessathome2023  Před 8 měsíci

      It is truly dependent on the severity of the case and person. It’s a hard diagnosis to recover from FULLY. But I would recommend three things that would improve the oscillopsia 1) doing gaze, stability exercises, lifelong 4-5 days a week 2) use walking poles or walking stick to stabilize your body and your sway When you walk & that will reduce how much your eyes have to move to stabilize you 3) and if it’s really bad, slow down, you’re walking this way your head doesn’t have as much movement as it would if you walk fast.

      Both horizontal and vertical. You could even do diagonal. The key is to Make it functional ☺️
