Hiking the North Kaibab Trail from Phantom Ranch to Wall Creek in the Grand Canyon is a captivating journey through diverse landscapes and geological wonders. Beginning at Phantom Ranch, hikers set out on a trail that gradually ascends along the rushing waters of Bright Angel Creek. The path winds through shaded groves and rugged terrain, offering occasional glimpses of the towering cliffs that define the canyon walls.
As the trail progresses, hikers encounter notable landmarks such as 'The Box', a narrower section of the Bright Angel Creek. Continuing onward, the landscape transitions, revealing panoramic views of the canyon and distant plateaus. Along the way, hikers may catch sight of wildlife, from elusive birds to agile bighorn sheep, adding to the sense of adventure.
Approaching Wall Creek, the trail descends to the lush oasis nestled within the canyon, where the creek meanders through a picturesque setting.
This video is part of a video series depicting the complete point-of-view experience (4K HDR POV videos) of all the major trails in the Grand Canyon. These videos were recorded as part of a planned Rim to Rim to Rim hike in the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, this hike was not completed due to the closure of the North Kaibab Trail above Cottonwood.

Excellent! Your video shows the trail conditions perfectly!
Right at 3:47 is where I had a rattle snake strike at me, as I ran through on a R2R run, headed into Phantom, mid-Aug '23. I didn't see it until the last second, because it was pink and gray like the trail, and the Cicadas were buzzing so loudly that I couldn't hear it's rattler, which was also buzzing (not just making the slow shaking noise). As it struck I jumped to the right and the last thing I saw was that white mouth heading for my left leg. It missed, and I kept right on running.

Ouch. I guess that if you are stricken by a rattle snake down the canyon, it should better be close to Phantom Ranch. I believe that it ruined your trip nevertheless. I had an encounter with a rattle snake in the Canyon a few years ago, closer to Cottonwood. It was already late evening, and I was on my way back up to the North Rim, completing an R2R2R. The snake was to the side of the trail, quite. Only when I almost hit him with my hiking pole is when it started making noise. Luckily, nothing happened. It could have been bad otherwise.

@@RubiHammer I out jumped the snake's strike, so it didn't actually hit me.
I'm glad you had poles and the snake let you know it was there!

Same! Happened to me on the way back from the North Rim, but perhaps a bit closer to PR. Woke me right up!
