Eames Office Oral Histories: Robert Staples on Furniture Development

Robert "Bob" Staples joined the Office of Charles & Ray Eames while he was still an industrial design student at the University of Southern California. Sixteen years, the aluminum group, airport seating, and numerous exhibitions later, he joined Barbara Fahs Charles in Washington DC and established Staples & Charles. Staples is the senior exhibition designer. Recently, he design-engineered the new "Louis Kahn demountable walls" for Yale Center for British Art.
