I think Viral’s reaction to the jewelry was because she was so shocked that he would get her such an expensive gift so casually. I was shocked too.
It’s all prearranged by the producers, who pay for it, as well. Every single thing you see has been planned in advance.
Absolutely. I would not know what to do with such an extravagant gift. I was discomforted when my BF (now blissfully married for 21 years) bought me one of those new-fangled DVD players.
That jewellery was over US$40,000. I would go home thinking about what I'd have to give in return. Like, does he expect me to go 3rd base on this?

Just one note - “Hindu” is a religion. “Hindi” is the language. So Vikash wanted someone who spoke Hindi.

Sima listens to your wants in a partner then gives you what she wants 😂😂😂. When you tell her they are not what you are looking for Sima says you only need 60% in a partner don’t be picky.
Not even sure why she asks them to list their criteria…(only to tell them that none of that matters?!)
Good. Because most of their criteria belongs in the trash can. 😂
I also love the marriages they highlight between the stories. Those are great.

In my opinion, you weren't hard enough on Vikash. He was getting on my nerves!! Priya was on my last too! Bobby was the absolute sweetest!! They should come back just so he could get someone!

i immediately recognized bobby from the english panel show “would i lie to you” he really is such a lovely and bright guy! i recommend looking up his episode; he had some great stories!! seeing his students in this gassing him up was really cute! priyas loss!!

No waaay! I literally just binged season 3 last night. My mom is visiting and she joined in watching and was so invested! Absolutely loved your review, yess I feel like Indian matchmaking is such a great palate cleanser from all the toxic drama dating shows lawd. Also one thing I'm surprised you didn't mention that I was so impressed, auntie Sima sent Rushali to a "relationship coach" but that Dr. was one of THE BEST therapist I've seen on TV. Really insightful and it looked like it helped Rushali hopefully for future relationships. And yess I agree, justice for Bobby! Poor guy, he really is a lot, but what a sweet vibrant soul. Hope he finds love.

I loved the season, but it was to short...I liked the serious approach ...and most importantly the lessons one could take for oneself (talking with your date to clear misunderstandings, counseling etc)
I agree - too short - and it left me feeling like the match making wasn’t working this season.
I really liked Bobby, too! His bubbly personality reminded me of an Indian guy I was in a situationship with at some point. That guy was actually talking so much about himself because he had some issues. But Bobby? He seems to be just talkative and not too self-consumed. I would've liked to see more of him! I hope he'll come back in S4 and finds his soulmate

sidenote to my other thoughts, her reaction to the diamond bracelet didn't seemed misplaced to me, I used to work in Luxembourg and knew a lot of guys who will dish out that kinda gift and it just doesn't feel exactly nice or right when you cannot reciprocate in the kinda financial bracket they do and your mind spirals as a woman you will now feel compelled to reciprocate in other ways even though you're in a relationship and do all the stuff anyways, it can feel kinda implied and weird.
What about the fact that it sounded like one of the pieces of jewelry was over $20k!? (Or did I hear that wrong?) I agree that all of the guy friends of miss India are secretly in love with her! And the parent’s phones during the date reveals 🤣

Hey such a great video! I'm really sorry but I just wanted to bring this to your attention cause perhaps you are not aware that "hindu" is the religion and "hindi" is the language. It was sounding really weird when you're repeating the word hindu multiple times. Anyway, great video overall and really appreciate your reviews!

23:29 it’s important to point out that even though the show is called “Indian matchmaking” the show follows singles with North Indian, especially Gujarat, roots. India is a big and diverse country and there are cultural differences between north and south India as well as Amon north or South Indians as well. I guess arranged marriages play a role in south India as well but the show does not represent India as a whole. It is still entertaining to watch and nice to see Indian people being represented in a reality show on Netflix.

I completely agree and had the same issues. I was so excited to see some dark-skinned south Indians and walk away completely bummed. I clocked the concerns over color and caste which made me roll my eyes so hard. It's weird because Sima is clearly willing to travel so I'm not sure why we don't see her matching people in South India. Oh well. Still love the show!
Great review! Bobby and his parents were my favorite people for season 3. I was sad he only got one date this season. He was a bit chatty and high energy but he is more mellow on the other TV stuff I saw him on. You are right about the nerd thing. He needs someone who is into the stuff he likes to fully appreciate him.

Priya wanted an emotionally intelligent guy but had to be coached into communicating properly with him? Come on mayn!

Justice for Bobby! He is so sweet and sincere. Yes he talks too much and he's a little awkward but its endearing. He would make someone an excellent husband. He seems kind, smart and fun. Can't see him cheating, talking badly, or putting his hands on his wife.
I don't understand why women are so hung up on height. Seriously, Priya was 5'2'. The audacity to want someone tall. Everyone is tall to her. Leave the 6' guys to tall girls like me. I'm 5'8" and can't find a tall guy to save my life cause all the shorties are taking them. It's ridiculous.
Nothing wrong with going with shorter kings. Look at Zendaya and Tom Holland!
Bobby is sweet, but he acts like a manic cheerleader!! Just zero sex appeal 😂 I don't mind his height because I'm only 5'1", but he needs to regulate himself and leave a little to the imagination. He's far too adorable, kind, and smart to be single.

Vikash was very cringeworthy. He knew what he wanted. Sima asked him what he wanted in a "life partner". At first he said "person", then "woman". Its sad to see these people on these show not be able to acknowledge who they really are because of tradition and wanting to live up to their parent's expectations.

I agree, Viral's response to Aashay buying her jewelry was off but I think that is because she has a hard time receiving (or could be me projecting my issues with receiving). If you're not used to people (even loved ones) giving to you in any unconditional way, receiving generous gifts feels like you're waiting for the other foot to drop. I hope if this is accurate for her that she is able to heal that with time and trust in this relationship.

I don’t like Viral, she’s plays lots of hard to get games. You can tell she has lots of insecurities and self love issues she needs to work on first and really open her mind and heart first, I feel like she is going to use the sarcasm and “funny” (petty) insults on her partner her entire life 😒

Not all matchmakers are super expensive to hire. Just like in all fields there are some matchmakers who are cheaper to hire than others. And it also depends on the matchmaker themselves, sometimes it's not about the price but about you trusting them enough to do their work well.

I totally agree - Priya was still shorter than Bobby, and quite a petite woman. I feel bad about how blunt she was about his height to her friends, knowing that Bobby would eventually hear that once the show would air
