    Thanks so much for sharing!
    I had a change in workplace recently. Where I‘m now, everyone is using iPads, so I started to use GoodNotes with an Apple Pencil only last month - six years late to the game, I guess. I‘m still using a Hobonichi Weeks for work, but I‘m thinking about transitioning to a Weeks style planner on GoodNotes. My note-taking has become mostly digital, but my journalling is still analogue and I want to keep it that way. I love my fountain pens and stickers and my fountain pen-friendly paper, and I believe you‘re more likely to flip through a beautiful paper journal than through a digital file if you want to revisit memories. My”main squeeze” is the Hobonichi Cousin.
    So that‘s where I‘m at right now. As people have commented here already, I think the right planner for you is the planner that works best with where you‘re at right now (as in: your current life situation). For me, that seems to lead towards work = digital and journal/memory-keeping = analogue at the moment.

      Better late than never right?! Haha and yesss analogue journaling is a great idea!

    I have reorganised my planning system in 2024. I was travelling in February so I used your passport inserts, discovered that I enjoy the size and now make myself monthly booklet. At work, I lead a team of 300, so I plan digitally for everything that involves the team, make a list in the passport of what I need to do myself to ensure that I don’t loose track in the midst of emergencies.

    Totally understand the magnetism of paper!
    Have you tried digital scrapbooking? If not, it may be worth a try! You can purchase templates, journal as much as you want and then have it printed. Or print it yourself.

    I’m thinking of creating photo collages in Goodnotes then exporting them as photos to print for my paper journal, if I don’t remain 100% digital. I want commonplace and reference to be digital so I can find info easier. I want photos and memory keeping digital so I can see and relive the memories more often. But I miss paper if I’m doing everything else digitally.

    I truly believe that your system needs to work for you. Over the years, I've learned to work with my brain and now I know that i don't process digital vs written/printed content the same way. I'll blame it on reading scientific articles on my computer for years, but if I want things to be actionable and looked at often, they need to be on paper. Even at work, using my bullet journal signals to my brain that I'm jotting something down for me to take care of, as opposed to the detailed documentation we constantly create digitally for reference keeping and transparency. I sometimes take digital notes for my team and our project planning is completely online - but I still regularly synch it with my bujo. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't like long form journaling, but I keep a creative journal just for funzies. Typing has never conveyed to my brain that sense of peace and organization that putting words on paper does. 🤷🏼‍♀️

      Totally understand that and couldn’t agree more! System needs to work for you and even that sometimes changes depending on the phase of life!

      Really interesting that you said this, I’m exactly the same way. Something about typing a task into, say, OneNote, that my brain thinks ok I’ve dealt with this (by typing it, ha!) and I don’t feel the need to actually do anything else with it... What?? So, writing it down keeps it in a “to be done” state, if that makes any sense at all 😅

    I was in an a6 bullet journal all year last year, the same one nanami paper notebook, it worked for me but there were things i was trying to improve on for this year, mostly organization issues (you know how that can be an issue in a bound book) also the feeling that i didnt want any messy notes in my main book, that was a constant struggle. Anyways, i was fighting rings so hard in December and for the first month and a half of 2024, but I finally broke down and got an A6 compagna, its helped SO much, im so glad i gave in, i only wish i would have done it sooner. It is exactly like my a6 notebook, just in rings, easily organized and no fears of messing up my entire book with a bunch of messy notes! Its funny because my "messy notes" section in my rings is my most used section now right after my dailies 😆

      Yesss! Welcome to rings! There are definitely a lot of benefits!

    Don't go completely digital!!!!!! What happens if the internet goes down for a significant period or if there's a power outage that goes on for days and you can't charge your devices? What happens if your service provider goes out of business or their organisation gets hacked? You could lose everything! Think of all those lost memories. And what about "Big Brother" watching you? If everything is digital, "they" would potentially know every move you make, every appointment or meeting you attend, every thought, fear or dream that you journal about. Please, please, don't go completely digital! x

    • @marydetray6776
      @marydetray6776 Před 4 měsíci +1

      That's always been my reasoning for not going fully digital, I'm not super proficient with new tech either so the whole linked devices via some cloud network isn't something I can just set up and run smoothly and I have no time to learn all that stuff. Furthermore, though I take photos alot, they rarely become physical objects I can hold, I don't want my memmory keeping and planning going the same way. Sure I'll SAY I'll print them out, but I never do.
      Also, I just love Stationary, its my ONE thing, I'm not letting it go, that would be such a sad day for me personally.

    • @MomYePlans
      @MomYePlans  Před 4 měsíci +3

      I’ve actually thought about this! Not as drastic but more in the context if my files crash or something! I recently had a hard drive stop working that had a lot of old photos and now I want to print everything! It’s so tough cause that is the way the world is going

      @MomYePlans You are in a very privileged position because people listen to what you say, so you have the potential to influence an informed move away from digital planning and a return to paper based planning. Paper lends itself to creativity and is way more secure than anything digital. It would be such a shame if all of life went digital and people forgot how to be creative in a tactile, tangible way that appeals to the senses of sight, touch and feel. Tapping away on a keyboard is very impersonal and can never appeal to as many of the senses as using paper does. How about challenging yourself to go completely paper-based for the whole of April and see what happens? Go on, I dare you! 😊

    You are wrong I saw one bunny sticker in your FC Compact rings which means you used it lol KIDDING :) but yeah I just loaded up my amazon cart with all things passport TN for a TN on the go. I've been in HP mini size with Levenger discs since December and feel it's time for a change and I'm thinking I want to either go back to standard TN for a while or personal rings for a while. I miss a nice leather cover. I tried digial once since I am in the tech field but found I needed that paper and leather feel as a security blanket since I'm on PCs all day I need a different tactile response other than a screen and keyboard. The paper feels are real!!! lol

      @MomYePlans  Před 4 měsíci

      Bahahah good eye! It was very lightly used haha, but ya love passport TN for on the go and have no doubt when I’m travelling again that I’ll be back in it! Sometimes we just need a change right?

    Is it true that franklin covey pocket is the same ring spacing as true A6 binders?

    • @kaywueno
      @kaywueno Před 4 měsíci +2

      @marydetray6776. Yes. However FC Pocket binders are taller and narrower than Gillio A6 and Mulberry Agenda (I have all three models) and their ring mechanism is similar to Moterm’s not Krause. I cut my A6 pages 6 x 4.13” and they fit in Mulberry, Gillio A6 and FC Pocket binders with top and bottom tabs only because the FC Pocket binder is narrow. Hope this helps.

    I carry my Mini in the same planner cover...lol. I feel my Apple pencil is safer in there. I've been consistent with both my Hobo Cousin and my Bujo. However, I have been looking at my gorgeous A6 ring planner and figuring out how I can use it without the whole annoying printing and cutting inserts issue. I am not putting that system down for others it's just I'm awful at it. I waste so much paper trying to print correctly....ugh.
