Hello, you may have done some of this already, but the order I would do is check the fuse for the circuit (may be inline or have a spot in the fuse box), I can’t recall. If blown, follow wires to make sure they aren’t pinched. If good, check heated grip connection under the dash. (Google wire color code). See if you get power there with ignition on. If yes, grips may have to be replaced. Good luck.
Have a 19’ special and i can find where those two pin sizes looking wires from the clutch side plug into that you mentioned. Been trying this for a few days now :/
Great video. However, I'm struggling with the wiring from the grips. You said that Harley provide you connections. I have a 2019 road glide special and for the life of me I don't see any connectors to connect them to the heated grip. Any clues?
Sam Israeli on the throttle side there are two metal pins on the end of the throttle tube that are the connectors. On the clutch side the connector is under the speedo cover in the center of the handlebars as I recall. It’s been a while since I did it. Good luck Sir.
@@captholmes Thank you. On the 2019, Harley seriously hid the connectors to the point that you could not see them... It's not after I followed the matching color wires with my fingers deep into the bottom of the harness that I found them. Oh well, all well that ends well. Thanks again.
On my 2017 Road Glide I added a H-D accessory harness behind the right side panel. This is not necessary to run the heated grips, however, I added the harness because I also installed the H-D air seat at the same time. The wires for the heated grips were already provided on my 2017 R-G under the speedo cover.
The original H-D heated grip kits should go on without any additional wiring harnesses needed. The throttle tube is prewired to connect to the new heated throttle grip. The left grip will have a wire that needs to be threaded down the bar to the provided wire with connector that is hidden under the speedo cover.
Hi Ed. I'm now the proud owner of your bike. I found this vid researching how to fix heated grips :) They don't work anymore.

Thanks! Just about to do this myself.
Awesome, great write up
2017 bikes have the wiring in place you don't need anything other than the grips
Not the road king
on the 2017's you dont need the acc plug kit, there is a power connector on the right side to plug from the grips in..
yeah both the SGS and RGS are prewired in the fairing and the right hand bar for heated grips
Not the Road King
Doesn’t have a fairing... so no.

The wiring harness you have to purchase. Once it is connected to the battery, where does the other end connect to? Thanks
I'm trying to figure that too. he does not explain any wiring coming from the harness
Thomas Henderson did U ever figure out the wiring, been trying to install them on my 19’ glide special and stuck on the wiring

Thanks for the video. It helps. I am hearing conflicting info that you do or don't need that other update harness. Can you clarify?

captholmes OK. thanks.... So if you are only doing grips they will work without 69201599? Right?

what is the part number for the grips?
Did you need to remove the gas tank?
Chris Cherryholmes No, I did not have to.
