When I was 17 or 18 it was my dream to learn from Chris Garver. I’m living the dream right now.
🤗
It's always cool watching very practiced artist working right in front of you because you see how easy and how efficient his lines and shaping are, and you know that its super difficult to get to that point
That's the master right there!
The confidence he has in his drawing is so impressive! So awesome to watch
This is crazy!!! This legend teaching us how to draw! My mind is blown, y’all don’t know how legendary this is! Sheeeeeesh!!!
Thanks for sharing your process Chris, legend.
Chris has a really high knowledge of japanese drawing, one of the best by far.
don't stop posting videos, your channel is a great help to us, your content is really worth it, don't give up 🏴☠️🖤
I really appreciate you taking the time to do this, Chris. It means a lot. I have been an admirer of your work ever since I got my first tattoo 10 years ago. Your and Freddy Corbins' work has inspired me so much to become a tattoo artist. Hopefully, I can get tattooed by you someday :). I already got a Jesus done by Freddy in 2019.
It’s so satisfying to watch you draw mouths, I was obsessed with taking up a whole page w an animal’s profile and filling the page with sharp teeth! Esp loved drawing alligator jaws lol ❤
Просто ВЕЛИКОЛЕПНО !! Обожаю эти уроки ♥️♥️♥️ ( amazing. Very amazing)
Thoughtful and educational content. Thanks man.
Thank you for taking the time to post this
You made it look so easy though it’s hard for the beginners😅great work🔥🖤
I like the design you did. thank you for sharing
Sensei is back
Those heads are similar because the three of them are predators, the predators have the eyes on the front of their skull (like us), their skull is pointy like a bullet which is very different from animals that are usually preys, the preys have the eyes on the sides of the skull (very convenient at escaping) in animals like horses. rabbits or common fishes.
Very understandable, and satisfying, thank you
love the work, sick af
the angle is kinda weird, but ive been drawing more and more thanks to this videos, keep it up guys
Thank you.. at least someone else thought zero effort for the viewer
I went to art school and most of the classes are filled with useless information. I've learned more about drawing, painting and proportions from tattoo artists. The best thing any artist or illustrator can do is find images he/she likes and try to repeat them 100s of times. You can tell Chris has perfected a lot of these images because he's drawn them 1000s of times.
thanks for sharing these skills
Yeahhh finally! Hold on I’m gonna take my pencil
Thank you, thank you very much!
Bien ahí Cris🙌👐desde Argentina
very nice drawing, dragon is amazing 😍👍❤️
Thanks Chris.
I love your videos and I hope to meet you one day!!
I needed this i struggle wit dragon head thank you!!! 😭😭
Coooool!
"A quick indication of scales " you sound like the Bob Ross of tattoo art
Bad ass, thanks for sharing your craft.
“If you draw it good, it will really look cool”
Let’s go!
Pro, great technique but can we straighten out the angle. I'm breaking my neck turning my head
what a great tatoo-rial
Awesome tutorial, but i will soon have a stiff neck with your drawings at 45° !
Does anyone know the type of pen he uses to ink with? 🤔
clearly the pen matters not technical skill
not sure but i spent some time searching and if it's not these then it's very similar
Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen for Lettering Calligraphy, Black, Soft Tip (GCD-112)
Can we get a spit shading/painting tutorial 🙏🏾
I didn’t know you were sinister Chris!
Hi love all your stuff a lot im in my 50s and kinda need a little help with vision. Ant chance you can draw in Black ink. ha ha just saying thanks
not an age thing, i'm 30 and same problem !
Does anyone know what kind of pencil that is please?
Red pencil
I wish you would've done better angle for this :D or maybe I'm just bad at it.
Do deadpool next
🙏💪💪💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏🙏
I've always felt that the dragon is the most forgiving of the four. Unlike the rest of them that are real animals, dragons are mythical beast, therefore there is no "wrong" way of drawing them, simply because there's no reference for them.
No, wrong. You can absolutely draw a dragon incorrectly. Anatomically, the belly scales should always be opposite to the top scales, there bodies can also only bend in certain ways, trying to do this while having the dragon curve and swirl around is very difficult and if you look closely you'll notice MANY anatomically wrong dragons and snakes in art and tattooing.
Darker pencil can't see it against the white paper
How difficult is to start tattooing for someone with 20 years plus in drawing ?!
probably would take a year to do some sweet
This camera angle is not helping
It would be awesome to actually see what he's drawing in the begginning...
My mentor says i should stick to drawing the Japanese traditional way of dragon heads before i do my own thing. I dont neccessarily agree with this because of things ive seen and heard from others like yourself. Nobody has ever really seen a dragon so is there really any wrong way? I love the way my dragons are coming out so i dont reallly wanna give up my style for a more traditional. Idk domething thats just nitpicky for me
Tradition is a good base from which to explore. Also these images and forms carry meaning. A dragon is not just a “cool creature “ its traditional form has deep significance to a lot of people so throwing that out the window is potentially problematic.

Mine looks like a bear
Learn how to draw animal heads…. (Pre cursor. You must be able to draw animal heads
Chris Garver's is a legend, but the over exposure on the camera is painfull to watch, the Peony video too... Fix this exposure for Christ sake....
When you literally paid for those classes and they giving it up for free on youtube … 😐😐😐 no bueno guys
What kind of pencil is he drawing with anyone know?
