Can you make one video about Cinema P3 Best Settings to get best footage?

  • @theoldgitwatgames4640

    Cracking video 🙂
Dehancer is good, and I have used it with davicni resolve for a good while. The bloom, halation and gate weave etc might be worth the investment alone if you need to give something that "shot on film" look, and of course that can often help hide imperfections of footage shot with a mobile phone (never a bad thing) That being said, it's subscription which may put solo shooters off and it's not cheap either, so if you are shooting with filmic and grading with this the cost mounts up. Still, it's good at what it does and quicker than doing it your self in the fusion panel.

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah the details in the film emulation are incredible. Good point on the details hiding a smartphone’s imperfections.
£79.99 a year is quite a lot but I think £9.99 for a month as and when you need it is really good value.

Love it, the only thing is the workflow when doing an edit, colour should be the last thing you mess with after youve finished slicing

Thanks! Agreed. Although you could edit scenes separately and colour them in the app as you go along. Otherwise the plugin is great too of course.

Hi Rob, a very interesting and complete app. Thanks for sharing, I think it is a good tool like the one for Davinci. Very professional but as you say related to the price is interesting if you use it frequently.

    DeHancer is a powerful tool!
I'm still wrestling with when to "bake in" effects with a filter and when to create an effect at the editing stage, if possible (which I lean toward more).
For example, I'm presently looking at purchasing the Tiffen "Black Satin 1" filter as a permanent filter for use with all my iPhone footage since it's subtle enough to soften mobile phone over-sharpening, adds a subtle bloom to lights, but still preserves sharpness/details that are subtle enough not to draw attention as an obvious "look", like with Black Pro Mist, etc.. I like when no-one notices I used it. :-) BUT.... I've recently started to save custom presets in FCPX to do similar. Saving them as custom presets really saves a LOT of time with future editing. I like the subtle halation effect in Dehancer.
The VND, polarizer and possibly the "Black Satin 1" may be the only iPhone filters I might use.

It sure is! I am amazed by it to be honest.
I prefer doing most effects in post but I usually use the Moment Cinebloom 10% during filming as it kind of guides my camera angles slightly to enhance the shot.
Sounds like you have a really good setup.

Hadn't thought of that big plus for purchasing a subtle diffusion filter -- -- If I shoot with the "Black Satin 1" on the phone, it's a bare minimal starting point (for way over-sharpened phone images) that becomes a valuable in-camera visual guide when tweaking composition, angles, etc., with the possibility for additional diffusion in post.

I’m trying to use your 10% code for IOS APP, but I don’t see where I could use it when purchasing it. Could you please let me know whether the code is only for Desktop version? Much appreciated

Hi 👋🏼 greetings from Australia. Im very new to video editing. Im considering purchasing this app for my iphone 15 pro.
Is it worth the download if i were to only use it on my phone?
And also, do i have to shoot pro res log in order to achieve a nicer edit if i use dehancer on the phone? Or can i just record like normal and edit with the app?

    • @SmartphoneFilmmaker
      @SmartphoneFilmmaker  Před 9 měsíci +1

It's definitely worth downloading. It's free too. You don't need to shoot pro res log but that will give you the nicest looking image whilst taking up a lot of storage. The average Joe won't notice if you have shot in pro res log though.

Astonished at how grubby the footage looks after all that processing. Would be better to learn to use the grading tools in DaVinci Resolve well and spend less time on pseudo-film. If the goal is to recreate dingy 8mm film Dehancer is right on track. And all for just $499 single purchase or $7.99/week!
