- REMOVING THE TWIN TURBO 5.2 magnum engine from our 98 Dodge Ram 1500 twin turbo 4x4 drag truck project whitie. This twin turbo 318 has seen some abuse and is still ready for another run just not in our Dodge Ram drag truck build.
Want to help the build pick up a t-shirt by emailing: keepitboosted@racingramfam.com
0:28 Hear me out 91-96 Dakota single cab shortbed drag truck
Totalled my 2015 Ram this morning in the snow. Im not hurt, but I cartwheeled over my driver tire into a creek upside down. Ram saved my life. I will definitely be getting another one.
Sorry man glad your safe!
@@RacingRamFam Yeah I definitely think the truck saved me. I didn't even hit my head. If I did the curtain bag did its job.
@@timbrwolf1121 oh yes they crazy safe now!!
@@RacingRamFam I sent a picture to the keepitboosted email
Badass build can’t wait to see how she turns out 👌
Thank you whitie for your sacrifice! My whitie is a baby in comparison a 2001 with 10k miles ☺️ im thinking of doing my girl right because shes still so pretty and i dont want to cut up the hood so expensive ass procharger it is 😅
Now that I’m thinking about it fed up fab has a 5.9 with a single turbo, stock heads and stock bore A cam and it’s a monster, im starting to grasp what’s about to happen to whitie on a real note
I mean the 5.2 was a beast! Just time for more power
@@RacingRamFam it was but man this motor combo is gonna be fun
Check out, Cope racing transmissions. Crt
You should build a shrine for that 5.2. The engine that started it all
Yes lol 😂
Me personally the fact it was a high powered 4x4 truck is what made it. It's the truck you don't suspect
Ya but will be much faster now
Is there a way to plumb the turbos without cutting the hood for more of a sleeper look?
Yes just I like cold intake air temps and under hood temps
Merry Christmas 🎄☃️
Merry Christmas too you too sir!!
I salute the twin turbo 5.2, she was definitely a trooper 👍
Ya 35psi I think it def change peoples idea of how much horsepower these things can handle
@@RacingRamFam were you running e85, 110, or 116? Timing? It's impressive it could hold together at 35 psi.
@@Jeff-oc6tm e85
@@RacingRamFam Thanks. I was curious because I want to turn up the boost on my 5.2 ZJ. I'm only running 10 psi right now with a draw through 750 holley and a single gt45.
@@Jeff-oc6tm gt45 only good until 900hp so prob only good till 22-26psi on your setup
hows whitie going?
Good got rear end in the tube chassis and front control arms just working on strut mounts then will be mounting the engine
Pls tell me the 318 is going in something small like a Dakota
I got another 2nd gen. Thinking manual behind it and burnout truck
@@RacingRamFam That's going to be badass.
@@acbvisuals6621 ya plus wife wants to try drifting
@@RacingRamFam I get that, I have a 03 Dakota V6 5 speed as a daily. I'd love to slap a 5.9 and LSD in it and burn tires all day.
stock bottom end?
The 5.2 yes 200k miles
@@RacingRamFam well being it was a low compression engine from the factory. im not surprised it can take that much boost. it was built for economy during the gas crisis.
@@RacingRamFam if i recall it was 8.1 to 1 compression from the factory, i dont know what generation yours is(im talking about the one that you can find in a dodge diplomat)
@@jackmagnium6115 ya I put thinner head gaskets and stuff so it was 9.7:1
@@jackmagnium6115 9:1 factory in these
