- Not to overstate it but this is one of the most important elements of electric guitar production, PARTICULARLY when you're using Kemper, Fractal AxeFX, Guitar Rig, Helix and so on, and no-one ever talks about it! Using very short room reverbs we can place our guitar (and other) recordings in a physical space to add character, body and presence. Space Designer is the way!
Thanks to Tiago Dias for bass guitar and Stuart Pringle for drums. The full track breakdown video for the musical example is • Why combine fuzz pedal... (it's an oldie!)
Say hi on IG: @jonwrightmusic
Jon, you are a man of quality and these videos are brilliant. I'm getting a lot out of watching these, I think you're onto something here.
Morning all - this is exciting stuff! Trust me it's a whole new world of tone to consider, and getting hold of this idea and applying it will make a difference to how you approach not only guitar tracks, but placing instruments and voices in the mix when you're recording almost anything. Any thoughts, comments, or questions welcome.
Thanx for the your videos Jon! I wish you 1 billion followers.
Killer groove
Tiago bringing the funky bass 🙌 nice walk through mate!
Thank you.. 😁👍🏻
Another great video! In my opinion you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the bleed in older records. Way back when bands recorded live there couldn’t be as much isolation which lead to much more organic sounds.
An essential topic, very well explained. 👍
Nice
Fantastic sound and song, mate. Has it been published somewhere?
Thanks Jon, do you have an opinion on Lexicon for guitars?
Informative whilst also feeling trapped inside a 70s porn movie. What do you make of Logic’s stock reverbs? The shorter ones always sound a little artificial to me without some eq.
Any chance I can buy this track to sing over please? :D Yes I am being serious.
