    Hey I tune piaggio scooters all day. So a yasuni r with a pod filter you should be somewhere around 110 with your main yet. Your rollers with piaggio at least should be around 5 that can go up or down. Get an polini 22kg spring and 5000rpm clutch springs or get an polini 3g that you can adjust. Never have to worry about those damn springs again. And if it doesn't pull its pretty obvious because your clutch is not made fore that pipe. Your whole cvt isn't. And get an 70cc piaggio engines is not like one or the other you can go with a cheap alu 70cc like 60 65 and stil pop it up at 55. Or tune your cilinder, 50cc piaggio std can go pretty fast if you widen every port en raise your exhaust port bij 3 mm. Hope you see this. Love the videos.

    About the derbi.I have an sr50r 70cc mhr replica cylinder.I tried many pod filters with the stock carb 17.5 dellorto and u cant get it really to work .Now im running a stock air filter box with 21 dellorto carb.Try buying STOCK air filter box from piaggio nrg,gilera runner those can be dererstricted and u can run them even with bigger carbs for exp 19,21 and myb 24 if u drill some holes and they are way better than the pod filters in my opinion.Only downside is that it doesnt scream as much as if u were to use pod filter.And that yasuni r pipe is not really for stock cylinder is more likley to work good on sport even racing cylinders.Piaggio engines have premium crankshaft with shitty stock cylinder try putting in a better cylinder.My crankshaft resisted the mhr replica pretty good and i have no problems running it .Sorry for my bad english im from europe.Have a nice day and i hope this will help somehow about your bike.

    used to own and ride piaggio here in uk , Trevor have you removed the pod filter and ran it without , a good way to check if its gettin to much air is to run without a filter and put hand over the intake to see if it picks up when you have it semi covered, . in the UK we DO NOT run pods, we run the stock box with some slight modifications, we drill holes into the airbox and use black electircal take covering all holes then as we tune we romove one piece of tape each time till we see a good tune . the stock setup is Run rich with a heavy restriction on the air side , when we add a new exhaust we just Upjet by 15% or slip a slightly bigger carb on (19mm carb ) and jet it up by 7-10%.
    roller weights 8g is way to much thats a total of 48g , you want to be around 4g - 5g so between 24g and 30g total weight , you could cheat a little run 3x 3g weights and 3x4g weights to give a combined weight of 21g , its gonna open that variator quick for pullin away then fully max as the rpm hits its max .
    yasuni r is a high rpm pipe 10,000 rpm where it produces its max power, and the yasuni R is more for a 70cc kit not a stock 50cc jug you have installed if im correct ?

    When changing the jets, look at the colour of the spark plug. Its very important to drive a bit full throtle and look what colour the spark plug is. Black = to much gas, white ish = to much air, too less gas. I hope it helps!

    I noticed you had some problems painting in your last couple videos. Allow me to give you some tips on paining plastic. The most important tip is use the same type of paint. For example, if you are using acrylic paint, then use all acrylic paint, clear coat and primer. Or oil based, water based etc, use all the same type or you will have problems. The one tip people seem to overlook is using the same manufactures paint. Companies use different formulas, and their paint formula is made for their products, so if you use Krylon, then use all Krylon products, Rustoleum, then use all Rustoleum products and so on. You can have luck mix and matching paint from different manufactures, but you will always have good results using paint, primer and clear coat made by the same company. you do not want to use Krylon primer with Rustoleum paint or clear, stick to using the same brand for the entire job. And if you are painting plastic, use Adhesion Promoter. Adhesion promoter is made specifically for plastics, and will stop paint from bubbling, chipping and flaking off. So basically use Adhesion Promoter, use product from the same manufacturer, and use products with the same base, acrylic, oil etc, and you will not have problems. I will recommend some spray paint for you, get some Rustoleum turbo. Rustoleum turbo sprays like 4 times faster than a regular spray can, and you can spray paint things super fast with a rattle can. I think they only have a couple colors in the turbo cans, but they also have turbo primer and clear coat, so you can primer, paint and clear super fast. Just search CZcams for Rustoleum turbo, and you will be amazed by how fast it applies paint.

Polini CP19 is too much for stock cylinder, the 8g rollers are waaay to much for the yasuni and the stock cylinder. Yasuni R is a pipe that likes revs and it has all the power in high revs. Sorry for bad English greetings from Croatia :)

    the stock variator is really good on the piaggio engine, i just built my gilera runner (same engine) id lower the roller weights to 4.5g-4.8g ish. stiffer clutch springs around 6k or 7k engagement and stiffer contra spring ..that pipe makes power up top so youd want the clutch to engage closer to the power band. also the piaggio engine really doesnt like pod filters ive seen bikes jetted all the way up to 110-120 main with a pod and still doesnt run right ..on piaggio engines they only work well on full on race setups. try find a stock airbox.. i run a stock airbox 68main jet on 17.5 dellorto which is probably best size for 50cc...id go 21mm on 70cc or bigger

    One massive thing is getting Piaggios into their powerband. Make sure the rear clutch bell isn’t slightly engaging as that can be enough to make them bog. Make sure it spins up before grabbing with light weights. Or check the compression of the cylinder because if it’s not new, it’s very likely that it’s been ripped

    if its a 70cc the carb is fine , 19mm, 21mm 24mm is prefered with the correct jetting of 90 and up (contd if its a 70cc your weights are too heavy if u want the bike too fly youll have to resort back to 5gr or 5.5gr ...... after the jetting the carb to perferction you just have to play with the air screw...hope it helps..piaggio is very easy too tune :) put bck the carb needle in the center

Jetting with airfilter on piaggio engines is really hard and you need to have a lot of knowledge about tunning.

    Try Malossi Multivar. A 68 jet is usually standard for that pipe I think if it is the same Piaggio as the SR?

    Check and see if the pin that goes down in the top of the carb on the derby isn't slightly bent. Cuz it kinda sounds like my toatoa did when I cleaned my carb out I made a mistake and bent it just a little. And I had to rev it to a certain rpm before it got going. Replaced the pin after trying everything. And that pin turned out to be the problem.

    i have that exact piaggio hyper 2 engine and had the same problem but i figured it out i had a 70cc with that exact air filter and a polini for race 4 exhaust and mine took a 112 jet if its a 50 maybe you need a 82 jet seemed to work perfect for me

    • @TestHardware823
      @TestHardware823 Před 3 lety

      i think if its a 50cc than the 68 was way to lean and 90 was to rich

    • @TestHardware823
      @TestHardware823 Před 3 lety

      i think the fact that you have a 19mm carb a 70cc kit should be way easier to tune its pretty hard to tune a 19mm carb to a 50cc

  • @mjes

    11:35 that is not for oil pump. That is for stator wires and a rubber seal is supposed to fill that in.

  • @daniel-681
    @daniel-681 Před 3 lety

    Like @
    Milac Wurst is saying, you probably need a smaller carb (17,5mm - 21mm). It definitly leans out with full throttle. You also got to know that the new exhaust (Yasuni c16 or Yasuni Z/R) on the derbi is for highend 50cc and lowend 70cc. Take care of the Piaggio engine, the Hi-Per 2 engines are really good, they make around 2-3 hp more than the horizontal minarelli.
    And could you please make more technical videos about your Zuma, because i am currently fixing a mbk booster rocket which is very similar.

  • @samuelkoek7091

    lighter rollers for the yasuni and if its an 70cc you prob need bigger carb or if its 50cc you need the stock airfilter
