You can tell that Dolloway has tons of experience backing him. Negated the reach with leg kicks forcing Jiri to come in and give up the reach advantage, good jabs, good lateral movement, very relaxed boxing. He was doing good. This is exactly how you fight a taller, dangerous opponent.
But Jiri just has that slick craftiness and touch of death. He's got the style to land a hit from anywhere coupled with one of his hits being enough. It's almost an unfair combination.
You broke this down beautifully. Love when one has knowledge of the sport and exhibits it without a hint of “know it all” you da man.

While we give all this love to Jiri and Glover we must remember one thing…. There is a dark horse waiting in the myst and he is patiently and quietly waiting. Magomed Ankalaev and this guy in a fight is something worth paying for. That would be one of the greatest striking matches to ever take place. Ankalaev is the type to intentionally not use his wrestling just to test his striking against him. Yes of course let’s get through the title fight first and in all honesty if Glover takes him down this fight very well may end quickly. I would love Jiri to win because then I believe talks for him and Magomed Ankalaev can begin.

@@erick7704 I don’t know man. It’s technique vs technique. I think Magomed might just pull it off because he seems to be a bit more disciplined. Jiri puts himself in some situations and against a guy like Magomed that will result in a finish.
@@tariqrobertson54 magomed had problem with Thiago Santos on the feet, and got clipped once. He was not so comfortable in that fight while standing. While Thiago may or may not close distance faster than jiri he is a lot less unpredictable. Both have shown their weaknesses and their strength in their previous fights, its a super fight for sure
@@SalvaTheGod81 he really did not have “trouble” you only say that because he got clipped once. The man just showed tons of respect for his power. And even with all that respect he still got clipped. All he did was wait until Santos got tired then went for the wrestling, he played it safe. Magomed played it too safe honestly a bit more aggression would have probably gotten that fight finished a lot sooner.
@@SalvaTheGod81 also Santos made adjustments that made things a bit more difficult. He didn’t go first as much because Magomed was countering at will and that would have led to a KO. You mention the ONE time Santos clipped him but don’t mention how Magomed wobbled him in every round of that fight. All we react to is something big such as a KO or a knockdown.

These rules apply in several different styles of fighting. It's a tactic thats supposed to give the fighter more grip and maneuverability as well as protection for their ankles and feet during pivoting and kicking. Which obviously didn't help this poor fella. 🤣

He knocked Reyes out. Reyes put the hurt on Jones, and had 3 rounds over Jones, but championship rounds are the most important. He already proved he can hang with UFC fighters, but we will see how he does when Teixeira wrestles him. The division is lacking wrestlers fight now.
