This C&C 40 Sailboat Is For Sale! This is a classic 1980 C&C 40-2. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and this one-owner sailboat with its storied past and prolific racing history could be yours. She has raced in the Marblehead to Halifax Race - twice - and she has raced along the coast of Maine and Chesapeake Bay since 1980. Her owner not only went to the Olympic trials on a Finn, he also participated in the 1962 America's Cup Defender Trials aboard NEFERTITI.
FIESTA!, this C&C 40-2, still has a lot of love to give and a lot of sea miles left to sail and what made making this video so much fun was the fact that one of my boat partners on our Morgan 382, founding BoatFools member, and life-long friend, came down from Vermont to take us on this tour. Between us, we have 90 years of sailing experience. When our third owner shows up, we'll have well over a 100 years of experience. But you know what? We are still having fun and still learning! For those of you wondering where our third owner is, he's down in Mexico somewhere having the time of his life. He's also from Canada. But he's real! You'll meet him soon, too. Promise.

Nice boat, I scored on a 1969 cape cod mercer 44. Purchased Skylark a couple years ago from original family. She is presently slipped in Groton, Ct

The Mercer 44 is a slick boat! Yawl or sloop? Pretty lines. Congrats. Sail her on up to Maine! Thanks for tuning in.

    Hey Boys,
If that boat could talk! Lots of good times aboard her. At one point I think in the early 90's over 2 seasons she won 8 races with 8 bullets! (First across and saving her time on her class). She is a solid boat and handles well in a sea. Cruising is pretty comfortable aboard her too, the roller furling jib make things pretty easy, and having a full oven on board goes a long way for some tasty meals. Rick was known for his roast cooking in there while racing the Camden-Castine. Makes for a happy crew. Couple of corrections: Rick crewed on the 1972 Olympic trials in the Soling (3 person boat). They won the west coast Regatta and were one of the top boats going into the trails, but only the First place boat gets to go to the Olympics! He did campaign in the Olympic Finn (single man) for many years, placed 9th in the North Americans and went to the World Championships in Bermuda. Great job fellas, sending the love

Thanks, Skip! And thanks for the clarifications on Rick's racing past. So great! A fantastic boat - just need to find her a good home.

I will ask the owner, but I believe they are original to the boat. Stand by!

She has not. There was an offer, apparently, but the deal fell apart. She's on the hard at Lyman-Morse in Camden.
