    Yep, when the three wheeler hit the market they were awesome, and Honda new how to build machines back in the 70's and 80's. But when the real Big Red (I call it) came out in 1985, that machine was a game changer for us that didn't want speed, but power and reliability.

    The plug cap is a screw on type you need to cut off the bad part of the coil wire and screw the plug cap back on.

      The wire ended up short so I just bought a whole new replacement just to be sure I was getting good spark you no how it is!

    Hi There. I have owned 5 Honda AC's in the last 25 years. I don't care what shape an Honda trike is in, if all the electricals and the carb is there, if you put some gas in, it will try to run. These things were built like tanks. I only have my 200 es and my 85 250 es left now. I am rebuilding my 250. So far i've put about 1600$ (Canadian). I have about another 1000$ left to put in. If you buy the plastic kit from Maiers the kit will run you about 850$ US. Is it worth it? Maybe. In my case, I would like to rebuild mine to almost factory specs. It's expensive, but much cheaper than a newer ATV, that will brake the first time you try to pull a 2000 lbs trailer. If I go slow, I can tow 2000 lbs of dust. (I actually did it with my 200es, which is smaller). You couldn't do that with a new ATV. Good luck with the rebuild.

    Join Honda hoarders on Facebook and you can get a discount on new Maier plastics. Talk to Greg jr he's the owner of the group and he will have the info you need.

    Are these expected to be worth lots of money in say 30 or longer years. Should I restore one to show room condition for one of my grand children to enjoy? Or will these just have a normal increase in value over the next decades guess there must be a lot of these around. There are quite a few in Newfoundland!!

      Well in my opinion these ol trikes are increasingly getting harder to find! Parts are becoming more valuable as well I would think in 30 years these will fetch a pretty penny! Scoop one up and enjoy the ride 🤘

      Its amazing to me these 30 plus year machines fire up after sitting in a field outside somewhere for who knows how many years ready to go to work, all i can say is its a Honda.

    My big red is stuck in gear and it won’t shift to nutral, it has been sitting out side for a while. Do you have any idea how yo get it to shift out of gear?

    • @radnplaid8083
      @radnplaid8083  Před 3 lety

      Try to adjust your clutch it’s on the right side of the the bike, 17mm wrench with flat screwdriver in Center turn it in till it stops don’t force it back it off 1/8 turn hold it and tighten the nut! If this don’t help you could have guide plate or drum shifter issues ect. Good luck

    I’m trying to get one myself I wonder how much to bring it back to life tho? Do u want these to haul wood or should it be like a old knuckle head barn find worth $100,000 in 50 years time? Hahahah 🤔

      A long time ago, I pulled an old farm trailer (for haybales I guess.) that was stacked with 6 cords of wood. I was on the flat mind you, and I only had to go 2 miles. The guy i worked for told me, you can either go get the smaller trailer and do 7 trips, or try to pull this thing to the wood shed. I got it to the wood shed at about 2 miles per hour. it was an 84 200 ES Big Red. Eventually, I bought the 3 wheeler from his wife after the old man passed away. I still own that 3 wheeler today. It only needs a ring job, but that thing on low gear will pull like there is no tomorrow.
