    "Fade Away Jumper" .... In college the talent pool is tighter.... The Fade is going to be the Kobe Shot she needs to learn......... He did it so many times in a game in short or mid range or out at the 3 point line!!! Late you learn to fade left or right depending on how you are being guarded!!!! Do not be afraid to be fouled 2 points is 3 and 3 is 4 when the bucket goes in!!!! Foul shots are a must to hit and be in 90% or better!!!!!!!! Games are won at the free throw line!!!!

    There is a little bit too much hype around Paige. She is very good as far as handling the ball, passing, court vision and is a good shooter. Nothing we haven’t seen before. Based on what I’ve seen, she needs to improve as a defender in a half court game and can be stronger on both sides of the court. She will also meet much quicker players at the college level and need to improve on her own quickness on both offense and defense. Don’t get me wrong, I really like what I am seeing. But she should be allowed to grow and continue to develop as a player and take her game to even higher level. All the talks about how she is going to change the game like a Steph Curry or LeBron James is premature and does her a disservice.

  • @jtoddjb
    @jtoddjb Před 4 lety +4

    as a hardcore UConn fan for around 20 years I think Paige should take a good hard look at what's going askew at UConn and try hard to find a school that is more of an up and comer. Look at what little development UConn has gotten out of the likes of Dangerfield, Walker, Williams, etc. All top recruits along with the biggest squandering of God given talent and athleticism in Olivia Nelson Ododa. Anna Makurat probably wont stay the full 4 years, and the freshmen with real potential beyond measure Aubrey Griffin, hustles, rebounds, plays great defense, and is super athletic around the rim has missed most of this year playing a few minutes behind the walk on gang. This is a championship group, as was some of the Katie Lou and Napheesa years after the big 3 graduated. Geno and company just cant seem to get anything out of their new players for the first 2 years and this has been going on for at least 4 years. If you look close you see it creeping in late even during the 4 in a row run. Now Jamie Lister left the season after Marissa Mosley left. I wish the best for Ms. Bueckers . She has talent there is no doubt about it and a lot of good things going for her, but does she really want to go through what recent top ranked recruits have gone through in the last 4 years? She'll graduate after 4 years and have the playing experience of a sophomore. That seems to be the way they do it there these days. I wont make any suggestions on where she should go because I am at heart of course a UConn fan. If she does show up at UConn I hope she can handle the bench and watching kids with more turnovers and fouls than any other positive stat combined, playing well over double her minutes. I hope she finds the success she works for and deserves.

    • @jtoddjb
      @jtoddjb Před 4 lety +1

      @@jaxonellis2995 and lets not forget Saniya Chong played ahead of Dangerfield all year and we saw how that turned out; 1 she did her trademark stumble drive kick the ball out of bounds early in the final shot clock in a tied final four game, and 2, the following year we have what is basically an incredible sophomore point guard with barely freshmen experience. Kyla Irwin played ahead of both Walker and Olivia for a year. Walker a #1 recruit getting a couple minutes here and there in conference games? In desperate need of size we got nothing from Azura Stevens? And then again in desperate need of size he goes with Irwin over Olivia? These are not the decisions of a sane man. I've talked to these kids, I've seen them play since high school and in practice. I'm truly scared for Geno's health. Saying he's a great coach goes beyond stating the obvious, but so was the great Pat Summit. Also losing some of the transfers he has over the past couple years? I think that was part of Marisa Mosely leaving. How are teams like Vanderbilt and others getting more out of freshmen than UConn can out of top ranked McDonalds All Americans? Teams will lose games of course I have no issue with that, but the decision making has made it so painful to watch I just check the box scores and that's about all I can handle at this point. This is coming from a fan who watched every single game at least several times since the Tina Charles/Maya Moore era. Lets hope we get big things from Evina Westbrook next year and not too many of the current lot transfers out, or for the first time since 1995 UConn will go over 5 years without a championship. Sorry for the long rant

      Good for you to keep watching. I gave up on Geno and his coaching last year. May be age or just plain stubbornness, but his teams have become weak, clueless and spineless. Hard to watch. They've wasted so much talent in the past few years. Get some big, tough girls who are willing to mix it up (think Tuck and Dolson). Interesting dynamic...recruit 4 players and one stays after two years. Then recruit one and not play her on a team lacking of motivation and intensity.

      As a Uconn fan who watches just about every game Derrick, there actually is some merit to your comment. But the players who do thrive at Uconn and are usually not restricted by Geno, are players the caliber of Paige. Sue Bird, Nykesha Sales, Taurasi, Maya Moore, Breanna Stewart, Geno pretty much took the restrictions off of those players and they all thrived under his system.
