    Excellent review. Thank you. I'm returning mine, new in the box and get another camera! I watched other reviews and none of those reviews mentions that twelve second motion clips work only with the subscription. I'm not subscribing so in two weeks the bell will be useless. I bought the first version of indoor and a panning camera a year ago. They worked great while I was away. Viewing an indoor thermometer through my panning camera every day, I caught a boiler failure before my pipes froze. I was so impressed, I installed wireless outdoor camera and required base router 6 weeks ago. The battery will last about 20 weeks at it's current burn rate. I'm still impressed. Add-on outdoor cameras cost the same as the starter kit, so I bought another kit for second camera and used the SD card for the camera.

    • @Wanderer001_Reviews
      @Wanderer001_Reviews  Před 2 lety

      Just to clarify you do not need a subscription for the 12 second clips, however the lack of an SD card slot and 5min cool down period without the subscription makes the doorbell camera a little less useful.

    Hey Wanderer001, your in depth reviews of both the Wyze and the Eufy 2K Wireless were great. Now that it's into Feb. 2022, I'd like to know if you have you retained the Wyze doorbell cam as your choice for the front door? The Eufy Wireless 2K and app looked pretty good, too, with the wider camera view and other features in the app. I'm undecided as I like both of them. I just wish the Wyze had a microSD slot inside as well, just like the indoor cameras, and the lag in the notifications from the Wyze product are a concern for me. Since you have cam+ do the notifications seem "slow"?

    • @Wanderer001_Reviews
      @Wanderer001_Reviews  Před 2 lety +2

      To be honest I kept the Wyze doorbell because I paid for CamPlus for the year. That is not to say the Eufy 2k was bad at all. in fact I ended up giving it to my next door neighbor who has been watching me these reviews wondering what that crazy guy is doing. They have been very happy with it. They need to charge it a little more often then I did because of the comings and goings in there home. As for notification even with CamPlus I did notice that notification were a little slow compared to the Eufy. I even had them both up when testing at one point and Eufy would come in a few seconds before the Wyze. I do to wish that Wyze had an SD card, even their Pro doorbell does not have it. Really pushing everyone to that subscription sadly. Hope that helps you out.

      @@Wanderer001_Reviews Wyze almost folded during the pandemic and subscription service is the only way they stayed afloat. They even made a vid about it. I'm happy with Cam Plus though and the benefit of Wyze AI. If something happens to my cameras, it's in the cloud.

I think for those of us that bought into the Wyze eco system early on when they were a small disruptive company a promise was made that person detection would be free. Hi, thanks for the very informative video. One thing I feel thought, is that you skipped it's actual natural function. Does it work well as a door bell? Do you need a subscription to have the videos of when some one rang the bell. How far could the chime be placed and still be connected? Also I think you inadvertantly told us that you can turn all movement based recording off so that only when the bell is rung the camera is activated?
    I'm thinking of buying this product to use at my garage door. My house is about 200 feet away. This way if a package delivery comes I could open my wifi garage door, and tell them to put the package in there.
    Thanks for your time.

    • @Wanderer001_Reviews
      @Wanderer001_Reviews  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a good point. as with something calling itself a doorbell first that function works fine when people press the button and not the camera lens. Which is a lot just because of the way this looks. You do not need a subscription for 12 second clips that are saved to the cloud from a doorbell press. You are also correct that all motion based triggers can be turned of leaving just the doorbell press as a trigger. As for having the chime that far away from the doorbell I am not sure that would work. In cases like those a cell phone notification would be the better bet.

    You have not discussed that this doorbell constantly shows error 9 message which will not allow you to playback video from the timeline on the app. The video doorbell will provide live footage but you are not given access to view any previous footage on timeline. So, if a crook has entered your house you are unable to playback footage to police from timeline on Wyze app. Quality of picture is superb though. Also, you do not have the capability to use an SD card. My other 5 cameras have Wyze SD cards that work intermittently. However, for the price Wyze offers more bang for the buck.
