The bad thing in 2020 ; it was a song BOUGHT to a swedish song maker and in english. I disagree with sending impersonal and standardized american or latina songs with sexy and naked girls to have a lot of points...

In 1974 the President of France (George Pompidou) died 2 days before Eurovision. France withdrew because there was national mourning. In 1982 France did not participate, the TV channel TF1 decided to no longer participate in the competition, not leaving enough time for another channel to participate. Antenne 2 (now France 2) has broadcast the competition since 1983.

You really should watch Amina's performance. The video is too short and cuts the highlight of the song. It was a tie that year but Amina lost because in that case, that's the song that has got the more 12 points than wins. It was a big hit in France, like Joëlle Ursull song.
I think they had to go down to the 10 points, because they both had the equal number of 12 points. They had to ask Monsieur Naef .
