    An amazing build, as always, Michael, few bits from my experience to help out - you can use, Kapton tape as a thermal insulator, it’s normally used in soldiering to protect plastic connectors from getting too hot. Also, if you’re concerned about the heat going through the metal cap to foam also wood, then you could isolate it using a ball bearing or a drawing pin, whichever minimizes the contact area to the cap, while still providing support.

    I figured that’s how! It turned out just perfect!!! The chimney cap is a really nice touch, and I love how it gives it top access but stays protected!

    This is brilliant! I have played around with modified vapes to create smoke, but the glycerine I used made things really sticky and was just a hassle to handle. This looks so much simpler and a much better bang for your buck, thanks for the idea.

      Yeah, this works really nicely! The one down side which I should have mentioned is ash disposal, but you can simply remove the little unit and tap it off in the sink and wash it away... so not too bad. Hoping you have an epic 2024 !! ;)

    Neat idea. Teenagers from the 90s held this technology for.. alternative smoke effects purposes. Incense is smart, and basic aluminium foil would do the trick too :)

      Yes... But in this model it is sitting on a cross of MDF with low surface contact! However , that is a good observation and my friend Dafydd made a great suggestion in the comments of using an insulating tape. Have a scroll through the comments .....     I like the idea, it looks great.. but for two things. I'm allergic to incense... plus you probably should be very careful about burning things in your model builds.

      Ohhh thats a shame! Yeah, taking care is essential! Thats why I used the tin and metal bottle cap. Gladly that create plenty of insulation for the amount of heat generated. Thanks for watching :D
