Rescue 50 *Ride Along* Accident Involving Motorcycle

- Rescue 50 responding to assist Station 54 (Lampeter) with a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Units arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident and the rider up and talking with minor injuries. They were evaluated by EMS. Once the roadway was opened, units returned. Willow Street Fire Company. Taken 6/13/24
Rescue 50 is a 2003 Pierce Lance.

A: Our fire house is located in the town of Willow Street, just south of Lancaster City, Lancaster County Pennsylvania.

A: That is called the "Roto-Ray," it is a spinning light designed to catch drivers attention.
Q: "Why is the call so far away?" or "Why does it take so long to get there?"
A: Many of our responses, or at least many of the ones that are uploaded are responding to assist other departments. Usually another firehouse can be seen or is passed by who is already on the call. We can reach the far end of our first due in West Lampeter Twp within 5 minutes, and in Providence Twp about 7.

A: For dash cams I use a GoPro Hero 12 Black, helmet cam videos I use a FireCam 1080

It's always either that, or they stop in a blind curve or on a blind hill. Only time I won't pull over is if I'm in one of those bad areas to stop, in which case I'll usually activate my rear facing emergency lights and hazards while searching for a safer spot to stop, so they know I'm aware they're there and just don't want to be the asshole that stops in the worst place possible.
I glad everyone was OK I was in a motorcycle accident 3 months ago and I'm glad I'm still here I wasn't breathing when help got there

Motorcycles aren’t dangerous. People not paying attention are. Cell phones and smart vehicles are what makes it dangerous for everybody who rides a motorcycle

I’ve noticed too. And this is the only channel that I know of that does virtual firetruck ride alongs today. Other channels have videos of doing it like 7 years ago.
