The efficiency of the 40 series cards is probably a huge part in being able to make them so thin and light but holy crap £1.6K is a lot for a laptop with a 4060, even the 4050 model is £1.5k...You could build a really nice PC for that. It is a nice laptop though
@@iitzfizz Laptops in general are always a huge price premium for packing in such a small space especially when they're sleek and "premium" rather than thick and pure plastic. This actually looks like a really nice laptop, a jack of all trades, things have certainly changed a lot in the portable gaming device market in the last few years, for me personally my laptop was a compromise because the wife said we didn’t have the space for me to have a PC… so a bigger screen was important to me as I didn’t really care for the portability of it, but I would definitely have considered something like this if the technology existed back when I was in school… 20 years ago 🤣
I have a victus hp with a i7 and rtx4060 and 32gb of ddr5 ram and I added 2 more tb of memory that I use to travel and I love it. I wish the screen was 1440p however, I can’t complain because I got it in sell for $950 US dollars.
Too bad the TGP is mediocre on this variant. G14 and Lenovo variants run higher TGPs getting a bit better performance. G14 2024 even has VRR which is HUGE (if never experienced a VRR display you should try one out if you can ... it really helps with wild swings in fps for some games / low 1% smoothing it out so that you rarely if ever notice it).
hey guys need some quick help and advice. i just aquired a 4090 founders editon that was refurbished off ebay. i havent had a chance to test this card yet as im waiting for the rest of my pc parts to arrive but i noticed that the long metal prong on the top of the card is slightly bent. will that be a problem? is the card going to have any techbnical issues becuase of this? super paranoid and would love some advice

no chapters on thermals, battery, speakers (got to be honest speakers and heat vents on bottom sounds terrible idea for anyone with laptop on actual lap). If you are NOT putting on your lap, there's no real point in such a small machine.
I was seriously considering the 4070 model of this laptop. The I stumbled the 14 inch 2024 G14 which will give you better performance and even better battery life for the same specs and similar price. If you are considering this laptop I'd recommend you look into the G14 as well.
Omen transcend actually has better battery life and lower fan noise. This has been shown in many reviews on CZcams already. G14 gets more power because of higher wattage allowed but I prefer the omen 14 for better fan noise and lower temps
Oh yea?! What's this got that my G14 aint got?! 🤨...oh you say the charging port is conveniently located on the back instead of right in the damn middle of the left side..? 🤔😐 **Drops G14 into trashcan**
I think that, while a 14" display is fine for a compact general purpose laptop or 2 in 1, it is too small for gaming. Being hunched over this laptop all day is going to wreck your back. I don't mind carrying a larger laptop. And the idea of a gaming laptop being fully portable is laughable. If you want to casually game anywhere, grab a handheld. You're not going to get RAM slots on something that thin. There will be a burgeoning industry in another year or two upgrading laptops with soldered RAM to 32GB. I am working on learning the necessary skills to capitalize on it. If they can do it on a GPU, a laptop should be even easier because the new RAM should just be automatically recognized because the CPU can handle that much (if not more). There might be a resistor or two that needs changing but that's not difficult. Performance here is hardly impressive. You wouldn't expect a mobile 4060 to perform that much worse than a desktop 3060. But then you'd also expect the performance of a desktop 4060 to be substantially better than a 3060. However, it isn't.
Since you ask, you get your answer: this kind of notebook is not for me. I have settled for a desktop. Just picked up this laptop at Best Buy as an open box for $1000 saving $700. I don’t get to complain at that price. I’m loving it so far.
same! I was considering the new OLED g14, but pulled the trigger on an transcend 14 open box that was basically brand new at $1053.
