That's a great question - I was the main (big lens) cameraman at the weekend. The camera is almost irrelevant as long ad it's an ENG type with side viewfinder near centre of gravity. What's more important is the tripod and lens. We use top end Vinten trips that generally cost more than the camera. The lens is very powerful too equivalent to about 1200mm on a 35mm camera.

Great footage thanks for posting. Btw anyone know what the plane at 9:41 is - saw it today but didn't recognise it?

Is the Yak 3 with a P&W 1830 engine. Original engine was a Russian v12. I actually fitted the magneto to this aircraft after it went technical at Solent Airport (ex HMS Deadalus) so I'm so happy it was going so well at headcorn.

@@garethwood3474 many thanks for the response. Interesting anecdote I am not familiar with this aircraft so was having a debate outside as to what it was. It did feature in Saturdays footage but was flying very well yesterday when I saw it so good to know you helped make that possible. Cheers.

What's interesting is that Russian marked aircraft are not appearing at shows now but this Russian aircraft has been painted in the Ukrainian markings it would have worn at some stage. Very important and successful aircraft series.

@@cruachan1951 agree. Also interesting that they were happy to display aircraft sporting a swastika but apparently Russian insignia even historic ones are now verboten.
