The EE Wembley Cup 2018 is a seven-part football series building up to one massive live final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 25th November. EE have teamed up with Next Level to rip up the football rulebook. We’re hosting a tournament with four of CZcams’s most talked about teams, a group stage, EE Wembley Cup Draft and plenty of big twists on old rules.

Thanks for all the support this year guys. Was a very different format, many of the reasons for that were out of our hands but I very much enjoyed some of the additions such as Man Down, the Group Stage, the Draft and the added competitiveness between teams which are concepts that Next Level brought to the table. 30 minute games were definitely too short, didn’t get enough action or game time for drafted CZcamsrs but this was ultimately a Wembley/pitch issue. We learned a lot behind the scenes too. To do this event 4 years in a row and have hundreds of different people get to experience the pleasure of playing at England’s national stadium is something I’m very proud of and I have to thank EE for supporting us so much throughout the years. Cheers guys.

Honestly I prefer it when it is a CZcams match not a semi pro game when no one has any idea who any of the players are. People like the true Geordie should of started. It’s what people came to see not a load of ringers.

They didn’t even get to play, even then there’s a bunch of nobody’s playing on the pitch but it’s a youtubers event with some legends.
Out of all 22 players on the pitch, I think it was Elliot from the XO that helped Billy get off the pitch after the injury. What a top lad. That's what we call "sportsmanship". Not even Jeremy Lynch went up to him to see if his mate is alright

Spen, saying this as constructive criticism, but this Wembley cup lost its roots. People watched to see their favourite youtubers kick a ball about, most people in this years, most of the audience won’t have heard of unless they had watched all the channels. No body cares about just watching semi pros play that we don’t know. Also, it was a good idea in concept, but 30 min games just didn’t work... hopefully is more enjoyable next year and you take on advice..
You don't get it. This is where the build up plays. Of course it's 30 min, what do you expect?
however many teams there are, 2 or 4.. 30 minutes games don’t work, they don’t give the teams enough time to get into it, especially with the amount of subs happening
For me, the 30 minute games idea doesn't work with 11 v 11 on a full size pitch. It would be much better suited to a 7 v 7 game on a 7-a-side pitch. I absolutely respect Spencer for trying new things but in my opinion the Wembley cup at it's core is all about an 11 v 11 game with teams made up of youtubers (however big or small shouldn't matter too much) with a couple of legends thrown in for each team, played with an element of competitiveness but mainly played to have a good time. The whole "tournament" aspect of this years event took the fun element away from it other than XOFC.
Charlie Sheppard This is absolutely SPOT ON. The whole point of this Wembley Cup was to see CZcamsrs come together to play a football match, we aren’t interested in seeing a whole heap of players nobody even knows or cares about, we wanna see 11v11 of CZcamsrs, no Hashtag United, no other teams, that’s what made it fun to watch.

No hate but the 2016 Wembley Cup will always be my favourite then 2017. Then 2015 and then this one

2017 had the best banter and challenges but the final was anticlimactic. 2015 was too simplistic, without legends and a crowd but I appreciate it for being the first. 2018 was bad for many reasons. 2016 combined unique challenges with new features that actually made sense and improved the spectacle, unlike 30 minute matches and sin bins. 2016 also had the most entertaining final.

Honestly, the group stage idea is briliant, but the 30 mins match just ruining it. We want to watch football, not fricking futsal in wembley.., not even mention the "sin bin"😥

4 teams is definitely an improvement. The new rules are interesting. Hey, don't tell me you weren't even a bit excited when it was man down. Plus, yeah not many episodes this time ; I don't see the problem though. Don't do anything unnecessary - group stages and drafts, get it over with. Straight forward! Dragging it out isn't such a good idea to me.
On the other hand though .... yeah, the final should have benn 90 mins, it's the final gosh darn it! Also, they need to a better job on recruiting the CZcamsrs - 4 is just not enough. Bump it up to 10 or 12. Daniel Cutting, Kieran Brown, Harry (W2S) were all left out. Also, if you are gonna dedicate an entire episode to drafting CZcamsrs, let them play the whole game or like more than 80% of the whole game. I don't remember Joe Weller even playing! Need to do a better job on recruiting legends too. Get more famous players ..... I may just be dumb but I didn't know half of the legends - get Carragher, Kaka etc.
Overall, Wembley Cup 2018 isn't the worst one. It had potential to be amazing. But in the end, it turned out GOOD (not bad ; not great) ..... just good ~

Ref missed so many sin bin chances, f2 should have been punished, it's a joke that Will was the only sin bin (it should have been a sin bin I agree but the point is that wasn't the only one that should have been)

Spencer should be incredibly proud, I 100% believe this is the best event created by a CZcamsr hands down, well organized, entertaining, professional production. You could just see it in Trezeguet's reaction to his goal and winning it, I swear its like he scored the euro winner all over again.

90 minute games next time Spencer. The group stage should stay. But only two teams play a final at Wembley. 30 minute games especially on that big of a pitch is not competitive at all.

Enjoyed the four team format this year and a brilliant effort once again from all involved. However I can't help but feel going forward that it's better as a one off game with more CZcamsrs involved. With the teams that played in this, nobody knew the majority of their players. Feel like two teams of CZcamsrs and legends made from scratch for a one off game would be more enjoyable and more entertaining to watch.

Despite the obvious issue that 30min games were way too short, I also missed having the team lineup and formations before each game started, something I feel adds a lot and isnt that hard to do, but wasnt done for some reason. Other than that good work lads, obviously have to appreciate all the work and effort put into production. Hopefully next year well return to the 90min single game final at Wembley, it could still be tournament style, just have semis before wembley on different pitches.

Spen I have to say I love what u do and how u are changing the game that everybody loves and that you are constantly trying to improve but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that the first year was the best. 1 - Its all youtubers so everybody can see a range of content creators rather than good football players, 2 - Less Chem meaning more goals, 3 - 90min football is just better for a game, you get to see a better range of a players football range nevertheless I will continue to support you in whatever you do.
