Shane Van Boening faced off against Dennis Orcollo on day nine of the 2018 Derby City Classic and round seven of the 9-Ball division.
“The South Dakota Kid”, Van Boening, was a four time Derby City Classic 9-Ball Champion, and a two time Derby City Classic All Around Master of the Table.
Orcollo, known as “Robocop”, was a two time Derby City Classic 9-Ball Champion and the defending 9-Ball Champion. He was also a two time Derby City Classic Master of the Table, and the defending Master of the Table Champion.
Both players had rebuys. This was one race to nine, winner breaks.
Commentary was handled by Mark Wilson and Danny Diliberto.

Unlike most players, Dennis Orcollo was fast on every game.!!
He's slow, the slower player I have ever seen as he hesitated often, much too often! No wonder Shane Van Boening shows his frustration on 54.27!!

I must say dennis dressed terribly.:( iknow the guy’s not rich, but he could do much better than that. Haha. He gambles thousands of dollars. Go get a nice shirt and well fitting pants dennis.
I mean I wouldn’t mind if he’s playing a money game back streets in the philippines. But he’s one of the top players in the world playing in a televised match. The guy is somewhat an ambassador for the sport. That’s why i dont mind tournament organizers imposing stricter dress codes. Even “uniforms”. Just looks bad on tv. Not presentable at all.
if we want the sport to be treated as a legit sport. some sort of professionalism is expected of the top players for pool to progress. They got to dress the part. I’m not saying like those fancy bowties those snooker guys wear, but just something decent and good looking like what svbs wearing. Haha
That’s why SVB, biggest earner 2023, has only earned 70-80k this year. Ridiculous if you compare it to skill sports like golf or tennis. Very small fan base.

Yeah because every pool player knows to just throw them in there and slug rack yourself so that only 3 balls move with rent money on the line
@@SpaceboyBilliardsexactly! Learning how to read a rack & executing a good break is a huge part of the game at this level. Both Shane & Dennis are great at it!
