marie montano RIP
J. Dilla is the greatest producer of all time. Then Premier. RIP Dilla
thank you! these are my two favorite producers by a landslide. i wish j dilla was still here to hear his beats sampled and used in rap today. his music will last forever
WildfireWiffler44 for sure. imo its then pete rock, madlib and nujabes in that order
Ewan Harvey My list is similar as well, but where is Preemo and Kanye?
sorry i wasnt clear
1. dilla
2. dj premier
3. pete rock
4. madlib
5. nujabes
i know kanye is a good producer but imo those are the 5
+Ewan Harvey Good list. Also Kanye isnt a traditional Hip Hop producer,he is more of a Musical Orchestrator since he works with live instrumentation, and blends it with modern and classic sounds instead of just cutting up a sample and adding a few drum loops like most Hip Hop producers.
Today's kids wouldn't understand, this song is a classic.
Agreeing with you :)
Nope they wouldn't
No! Of course not, this current gen of kids listen to auto tune rubbish, it hurts my soul
@@HUYI1 Agreed.

Man, I don't understand how Dilla manages to make a relatively simple beat sound this soulful and incredible.
Pretty much one of the best songs in the world
True
In the dam universe!!

One of the greatest hip-hop songs, easily. Common is so underappreciated because he isn't fond of the spotlight
Common is a top 10 rapper, hands down
common my top league rapper one hands down
🤔
MC..m
@Jeremy Leveille true that. Still respect to common tho he's got some of the most chill music that's for sure 👌
So called conscious rappers don’t get enough props. Most def talib kwali beat nuts, tribe, mr monch
Proper pioneers
Peace kidd!!!
I sure do miss J Dilla, I never knew he produced this. Beautiful melodies man. Detroit's finest.
Bobby Caldwell: what a voice! Incredible.
It's important that we're close to the Most High.

This is my girlfriends ringtone. I plan on proposing to her on her birthday this spring💓
Howd it go?
wow she has amazing taste of music. Take care of her please
Don't do it b. HAHAHAHAHA!
JK.
Did she said yes?
I would too if she liked this song hahaha. Cheers
Old school rap music rules better than crap music today.
lol you must be a youngling cause in terms of Hip Hop this is not oldskool :)
hip-hop dope Awesome music hip-hop real poetry lyricist play word
Yeah that's crap on the radio SUCKS!!!! And I'm only 12 so like......... Why can't people open their eyes?????
Both new school and old school are great, it’s just mumble rap that’s bad imo. There’s still great artists like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Tyler, the Creator, Joyner Lucas, Hopsin, etc
Troy Lewis 20 years ago, lol. You’re getting old
I was attracted to this beat by itself, of course, J Dilla Changed My Life
RIP Bobby Caldwell 😢 what a sample
This is the song that shines for my parents 👨👧👦👨👧👦😞😞😞
one of the most talented artist but yet he was so underrated during this time ...wtf?!?
Bc he wasn't the only good MC out at that time
It’s incredible how nuanced the instrumental is. Dilla can paint a lot of emotions with his beats
I had to go away and educate myself about James Dewitt Yancey - J Dilla, Jay Dee. And I'm glad I did because it all now makes sense.x

Common, Biz Markie, Nas, Slick Rick, Little Brother, Outkast, Cypress Hill, Ice Cube- These are real hip hop groups
AllTheWorldsWonders don’t forget mos def.
the enlightened one
Throwbacks
Common is the most ironic name for the man, he wrote about things deeper convictions
I saw him perform for my college, and he is so so short.
I love this song it's awesome
Sum of the Best verses ever.
And of course prodigy legend verses.
R.I.P. J Dilla
Thank you BOBBY CALDWELL 🎤🎶👑
Bobby Caldwell, (blue eyed soul) is one of most sampled artists of all time.
People don't realize what dilla was saying when he was cutting the vocals at the end of the song. "I gotta take this opportunity before i lose it. I love the D but I can't stay in the gutter. Check the other side of the game compared to where we at and you'll agree.""
... spot on bro.
“You need to look at the **other side**
You’ll agree....” that shit makes me shiver
I just keep falling in love with this soooonnnngg!❤(and Common too)😊
This is infectious 😎
i love that i had this album to listen to before i knew anything about hip hop or its' craft
This is my favourite song forever of all time, -and I listen to a lot of music. Thank you brother Jesse Field for showing me Common!
There are times when you need someone, I will be by your side. There is a light that shines special for you and me... 😔 Smoke a Bulb. Ha

The beat at the end comes from "the 80's" from Dilla's "Old Donuts"
