FILISUR SWITZERLAND LANDWASSER VIADUCT HIKE

The Rhatische Bahn Railroad model Ge 6/6, with freight train emerged from tunnel onto Landwasser Viaduct. This a single track six-arched curved limestone railway viaduct. It spans the Landwasser River between Schmitten and Filisur, in the Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. 30-minute hike from Filisur, Switzerland - no bus tours here! Steep trail - wear hiking boots and bring water.
Designed by Alexander Acatos, it was built between 1901 and 1902 by Müller & Zeerleder for the Rhaetian Railway, which still owns and uses it today. A signature structure of the World Heritage-listed Albula Railway, it is 65 metres (213 ft) high, 136 metres (446 ft) long, and one of its ramps exits straight into the Landwasser Tunnel.
You need to hike into this location - takes about 30-minutes from Filisur Switzerland. Some helpful signs are found along the way. Some parts are quite steep and one's eyes are kept busy taking in the unfolding vista, of mountains and valleys.
