  • Sitting amongst the wooded trails by Hillandale Park in Euclid, Ohio, is the Hillandale Bridge, otherwise known as "The Bridge to Nowhere." It is a solitary, crumbling testament to days gone by and ambitions that were never fulfilled.

It was the former estate of Charles Brush, rediscoverer of AC arc welding of which Lincoln Electric is successor & World HQ in Euclid. Old house foundation remains & several smaller bridges nearby.

That was interesting and informative. The first thing I thought of was the old Inter-Urban light rail line that went east and west of Cleveland. There are still signs of it in Bay Village where there are columns left in Huntington Metropark.

Thank you for the comment. When we're in the Cleveland area again we'll have to check that out.

@@alterworldparanormal kinda the same but the structure was almost perfect compared to now.i mean no holes in the road across the bridge no graphitty at all and all the railings were perfectly in place we use to have big fires in the middle of the bridge Euclid police would show up every now and then but couldn't do anything to kick us out because it was private property believe it or not the guy who lived on the left side of the bridge right before the entrance owned the property said it was ok if we were back there he was a nice old hippie from the 60's

The whole old world complex was destroyed by I271 and modern day medical hi rise, big shopping plazas, car dealership, industrial buildings and many multifamily apartments. Most likely looked like Stan Hywett Hall in Akron at one time.

    Cool bridge.
There was one in Grand River, OH built after the war to creat jobs. It was another 'bridge to nowhere'.

I don't know what's creepier - the abandoned bridge for a subdivision that never was, or the sole house located in those woods that you mentioned.

I've been here many times. His footage is fantastic. Not really that much more to see. It's an interesting park. Blink and you'll miss the entrance. Also, the area is mildly sketchy. Be careful. Don't go alone.

I thought about returning for some night filming but, as you said, there's really not much more to see there, much less film. I had no idea that the area was a bit sketchy but we also picked a pretty crappy day to go (a hidden talent of ours, apparently). It was cold and it had rained so much that morning we had to slog through several small flooded spots in the park area.
