  • The chief of the North Port PD is doubling down. He is meeting critics head on - answering to complaints that Brian Laundrie managed to sneak out of his parents' house, even with a live police camera trained squarely on the home.
NewsNation's Brian Entin and former FBI director Chris Swecker join "Banfield" to break down why the police chief defended his team, but never apologized to the Petito family.

Chief of police should be removed. The officers who watched his mother walk into the home, and mistook her for Brian, should be terminated. This is a massive failure on so many fronts. This agency failed Gabby miserably, and any pursuit of justice she was owed. I hope her family sues, and are compensated immensely for the inexcusable incompetence of that entire police department.

TBH, this excuse from the chief is probably not transparency. It is most likely something that the Police Union decided that they should tell the public. The real reason is that the police wanted to make more money from the continued search. They gave the press some outlandish stupid excuse so that the public will just sweep it under the bed, instead of making a big deal out of the truth. This happens quite often. You can ask a police consultant. I don't know where the video is, but I do remember that the documentary interview is on CZcams. Could be in my playlist. If I find it, I'll post it here. Law Enforcement is corrupt. If we don't vote to restructure it from top to bottom, it remains the same.

He was the Only Person Of Interest which means he may have committed a Crime. A Suspect is where there is strong proof the person committed a Crime. A Target is where they have proof and are ready to charge the person for a Crime or Crimes. BL was a Person Of Interest at first so they could find Gabby I believe. He continued being a Person of Interest after they found her while they did get proof of who committed the Crime. I believe the Man Hunt Was due to Gabby being found and BL was the only Person Of Interest told in the Case and for the $1000 as well and I do believe they have the evidence of who actually murdered Gabby and it seemed to me they were hunting BL to finally get answers and charge him but later found his Skeletal Remains well the Laundries helped with that one. I hope and pray Gabby's Parents, Siblings, family, and close friends of Gabby and her family are informed who murdered Gabby and it's made official. There's so many dead bodies that's been found out in the area she was found in that I hope they all get Justice and if there's Murderers on the loose that they are found and tried. I feel there were far too many mistakes, excuses, and jaw dropping mess ups in Gabby's Case. Just my thoughts and how I believe.

I find it interesting that Gabby and Brian had MOVED to New York after putting their things in storage. That hints that they may have been planning on returning to New York after their road trip.
If thats the case, then Brian could have told his parents that he and Gabby had split up and she'd given him the van to return to Florida, and the 'no service in Yosemite' could have been to delay any suspicion from Gabbys parents, who weren't expecting her home until after Halloween.
That would have given Brian NINE WEEKS before any suspicion was aroused, and with leaving Gabbys body exposed her remains may never have been found, had it not been for Red, White and Bethune.
Those youtubers really threw a spanner in the works for Brians plan - and yes, it DOES sound like a plan to both conceal and dispose of the body and distance himself from the crime.
What a cold hearted, cowardly, cunning creature, to plot all of that when he was allegedly 'grieving.
I doubt he was grieving, his actions after Gabbys death were too calculated - he is either wicked beyond redemption, or he had advice and help from someone who is.
Which begs the question, is he REALLY dead - or has there been even more cold, calculating cunning at play - with assistance?

I just read that Derek Chauvin had 17 complaints against him and it look what it took to finally get him out of the police force and jailed. If a small police force like NPPD is unable to handle such a serious and very publicized case not only important to the family but to the world they should’ve asked for help, without social media this case i know the remains of Gabby would’nt have been found. While I’m on my diatribe about inept cops this brings me back to Moab… I’m thoroughly saddened and sickened by the information on the body cam videos. Another small town group of cops that dropped the ball due to their ego and not willing to ask even a social worker for help in a situation that was beyond obvious it was DV, not a couple having a little lovers quarrel. I’m really frustrated bc I don’t believe the remains of Brian if they were his were handled properly and I really believe the laundrie family and their attorney should be in jail feeling the shame.

Actually no, most state Law Enforcement Agency have a policy on either the missing person usual residence or the state the missing person last seen would have the jurisdiction, just because the missing person is driving a FL tag car or have a Florida Driver license does not make it Florida jurisdiction.
You need to look at which state have most to do with the person missing, in this case, Gabby missing have almost nothing to do with Florida. she wasn't in Florida since June, the jurisdiction in the conventional sense would lies in Wyoming, where she was last seen. Actually, till this day, I still have problem as to why North Port would have jurisdiction in the missing person case to begin with, and once they do, they should have relinquish it because there are not much you can get from Florida. And noticed that beside the Bethumes were from Florida, there are nothing related back to Florida throughout the entire time Gabby was missing. Which mean if NPPD were the lead, they would mostly do out of state investigation, as the FBI guy said, it's a 17 member department, they can't really do that.

Everyone is being too hard on the cops. Stop! Okay, now reflect on this: They are surveilling all the comings and goings at the Laundrie house. Okay so 3 people are in the house. The parents come and go occasionally. Brian leaves whenever (dark maybe) but when they weren't even concerned where he might be, but the Mustang leaves the property. The cops write that down. Let's not forget that Mustang isn't Brian's. It belongs to Roberta. So the parents leave in the pickup and later, in the dark, the Mustang comes back..."someone" got out of the car in the dark and very briefly passed through the light then back into the dark, and behind the camper and goes in the side door. You'd be surprised how the human mind sees what it expects to see and all the police training in the world isn't going to stop that. So for them, Brain leaves in car and Brian comes back later in that same car...let's not also forget that at that time, it was casual surveillance, Brain wasn't a fugitive at that time. He was free to come and go as he liked.
