This was good during covid. Would like to see a live gathering and really go extra ham on the ornaments.

Great job! Frankly, I'd much rather hear Baroque trumpets played in such a manner (with vent holes), ie with accuracy, intonation and wonderful phrasing, than have to listen to folks trying to bend the out of tune notes (f and a) into tune and being only marginally successful.

Both are great. You'll never here a pro baroque trumpet player saying bad stuff about the holeless players. I play holess as well but just not on here. I wish the holeless brigade were a little less scathing in their opinion of the holed natural trumpet players.

@@markbennett5274 - I studied with Ed Tarr from around 1977-81 or so. Then got a job teaching trumpet at the Musk-Akademie der Stadt Basel, albeit at the prep depart. teaching modern trumpet. Way back then we sounded about as ... trying ... as many of the homeless folks do to. When Ed died, a group got together to play a memorial performance and frankly, it was embarrassing. About as embarrassing as we (often) did back then. But there are so, so many really fine recordings of specialists today playing 3 and 4 hole systems who play very well, both within the section and within the orchestra. And I'm talking about live performances, not edited recordings. The Czech crew 1704 is a prime example.

No, noone said they are? Our company name is Norwich natural trumpets because we also make natural trumpets as well as baroque ones with vents. We started off only making natural trumpets but quickly found more people asking for vent holes,.so we started doing both! As well as keyed trumpets, flat trumpets, modern ones, coiled ones, sackbuts and horns.
