  • Off the beaten track in The Netherlands! This country has a lot to offer. It is famous for its amazing historic cities like Amsterdam, wide views and beautiful tulip fields. But there is much more to explore on the Dutch countryside. Recently I brought a visit to the "Kaapse Bossen", a rolling forest area in the middle of the country. I was amazed by the views from one of the lookouts! Let me show you this wonderful place!

@@robindiscovering I released a video about Utrecht. Is it your city, doesn't it? I didn't include the tower De Kaap, but I included the pyramid. Can you take a look? )

@@robindiscovering The pyramid looks interesting. Now I can say the Netherlands isn't a flat country :) Indeed it is the nice place to visit. I think one day I will return and will get inside. I had to check the schedule on their website.

Hello there and thanks very much for posting this, great video! I just found your channel while searching for advice for the Netherlands "off the beaten track" and I really enjoyed your videos. I especially liked the one about Spakenburg and the Amerongen one. I can't believe that you only have so few "likes" (mine is No6 actually 🙂)... Please share more places we can visit, both in nature and small villages and towns but also inside cities, as cities have their hidden corners that few tourists may know about. Hope to see more material from you soon, all the best!

Thanks a lot for the feedback. It is really appreciated! I'm currently figuring out what I should do to improve and what style fits me the most. The feedback where you hint that you liked the Spakenburg and Amerongen videos the most is really useful. I'm currently working on a video about a fort Island near Amsterdam, which is a really nice day trip from the capital. I think it will be released next week. I'm trying to edit it more in the style of the Spakenburg video. Thanks once again and enjoy the weekend!

@@robindiscovering Thanks for the feedback on the feedback! Some ideas: combining current information about a place with information and unusual anecdotes about its history (you already did that to a degree, and of course there is so much more to say about the country's history),. Also, some information about the Dutch language (for non-Dutch speakers of course!), and its various forms and idioms (north vs south, cities, vs villages etc., unusual expressions in each place you visit etc.). Another one is giving some information about how to reach each place, for travellers - train, bus, driving, walking, bicycling, riding, rowing (!!), maybe showing some google earth shots & maps etc. Another idea (more difficult, but maybe worth it for later) is to try to do some short interviews with locals. This would give an even better "feel" of the place to us watching. Anyway, thanks again, all the best! 🙂

@@manostroulinos1726 Useful tips, thanks! The new video about Pampus was already recorded (and just released today), but I will definitely work on the things that you mentioned above in the next project! Including interviews is definitely something that I want to do in the future, but first I want to work on the style of the video's and the presentation, so that once I start including others, they will be happy to be included. Thanks once again and have a nice day!

@@manostroulinos1726 Hi Manos, thanks once again for your reply. The new video wad delayed, but if you are interested you can watch it here: czcams.com/video/DAgJ_RFnpok/video.html. With your feedback in mind I included some interviews with locals, how to reach the place and some historic insights. It is not perfect still but I'm trying to improve. If you got the time, let me know what you think of it and wetter it is an improvement over previous videos or not. Anyways, have a nice day :).

@@robindiscovering Hi Robin, thanks very much for the update! I just watched your Montfoort video, I really enjoyed it, I think the combination of beautiful shots, historical information and talks with the people really worked great. And I am really glad you used my feedback for some ideas 😊 We visited Hague and Utrecht this Summer with my wife (first time in the Netherlands, and we absolutely loved it), so on our next visit I am sure we will try one or more of your suggestions from your channel! Best regards and keep up the great work!
