I like the idea that Jake's uncle booked him through his square-space page instead of just asking him.
im dead laughing at this comment 😅😂😂😂😂
Hahahahaha
So when Gui talked about the “hollow fist” we all started test punching ourself with it right? Lol
Yeeaah haha im not the only one
Guilty XD
TRUE LULW
Erm I did yeahhhh??? We are such dorks! ROFLMAO
Definitely!
The image of someone hurting Gui and then laughing about it makes me really irrationally mad
Same! I got so irrationally angry at Tom Ellis
@@ximenatm7756 not that irrational - since what he did was both dangerous and unnecessary. -.-
Missed him
For sure it's not cool, but I don't think anyone laughing was happy that he was hurt, they probably didn't know how bad it hurt and they didn't notice that Gui didn't think it was funny. I'd like to think things are usually misunderstanding rather than malicious intent.
Same here man
Gui: Explaining the hollow fist
Everyone: Punches themselves in the face repeatedly
Underrated man
I laughed because I did that too as I was watching.
4:27 I now need a movie where Wren goes mad and just punches anything and everything with that exact same face.
Yup
A face of a psychopath
He looks so enthusiastic while throwing out the punches

Title of the top of my head. "Revenge of the *Wren*ch". Local mechanic loses his composure or something.
Stuntman I want to have on the show: Gui, but again. Love whenever he's here.
agreed hes badass but also so sweet
His laugh is fantastic.
@@lizh4244 Wholesome masculinity
Agreed, he is always great.
hey your a lion
Great selection! My dad and I both did wing chun - Dad trained at Ip Man's school in Hong Kong the same time Bruce Lee was there - and the wing chun portrayed in the movie is very pure, things like chain punches ('machine gun style') are a real technique that we were trained to do.
Shek Kien, the actor who played Han, was my dad's eldest uncle. He was a very good martial artist, practiced praying mantis style and his signature weapon throughout his career was three-section staff (not claws; Jet Li used the same weapon during Last Hero In China). That kick to the doll's head turns my stomach a bit; I know it's not real, but watching someone kick your 'great-uncle' in the head like that is still brutal!
That's so cool dude! Great insight as well👍
@@zahnngweetao9980 not a dude, but thanks! ;D
@@fionatsang9353 oops my bad. Didn't see your name clearly😅😅. Sorry
@@zahnngweetao9980 all good :) that actually happens a lot, my fault for having a blue pic :P
Really cool to hear. Thanks for sharing this! I'm glad that Martial arts has been displayed in films so much to make us non martial artists able to appreciate it as well.
Fun fact the American high school in IP MAN 4 was my high-school. Its called Pensby high school and is near Liverpool in the UK.
The American high school in the Asian movie was actually filmed in the UK. Amazing

@@casesandcapitals well it's actually Yip Man, dunno why they took out the Y.
@@gaspenpayne6755 because people would mispronounce it as *yipp* instead of ipp.
@@gaspenpayne6755 Because in Cantonese i gives the "yi" sound.
Finally Gui is back! He's the coolest, bring him back more often.
Keep bring Gui back, love him. He's like part of the crew
Yes! He should also choreograph something with them sometime.
He has such a great presence and personality plus his knowledge and experience in the physical aspects of cinematography is a great balance to the effects background of most of the rest of the Crew; he's definitely an honorary Corridor Crewman at this point.
I would definitely not complain to get more Gui in these Reacts videos.
He is great
We need an "Animators react to" so we can put some of the great traditional animation into the mix.
Edit: They did it! Awesome.
Please!
It's really difficult to lock down a person who does a lot in it though.
When it comes to 2d animation, would you rather hear from the artists who drew the black and white images, the ones that went frame by frame digitally after that, the concept artists and art director who designed the characters or perhaps even the background artists?
There are so many components.
YES please
And sfx designers react to movie soundtracks and sound effects
@@Elm98 First on my list: Baby Driver
I would like you to try and get Chris Evans stunt double the one who does that spin flip move he does in like every movie with Captain America in it.
Have him talk about certain stunts he's done and if you can, end it with him doing his iconic spin flip lol
Thats called a corkscrew flip, or rather just "cork". One of the coolest moves, Deadpool does one too in the trailer for his first movie.
Also, Rich Evans many slap-stick stunts over the years would be great to review in awe.
You mean the dude who directed extraction?
it has to be Sam Hargrave.
If you want to know more about him search in youtube for Art of Action Sam Hargrave

Wasn’t expecting the Shad Gaspard shout out. A true hero in every sense of the word. Rest in Power. Keep up with the amazing videos that pull the curtain back on the movies we love. It honestly promotes a deeper appreciation for stunts or effects that could potentially be taken for granted. I haven’t seen all the videos yet but I’m on the lookout for The Punisher, starring Tom Jane
When he talked about hollow fist, you tried it.
Don’t lie to me 😂
And it hurt 😅
Sure did. Still hurt
Don't need to, already knew what he was talking about!😁
That's what you use when you are playfully socking a friend or family member in the shoulder/stomach and not trying to hurt them.

Do not clap people on their ears. You can seriously damage the ear drums.
Why else would Sherlock Holmes "Discombobulate" in the fight? cause it actually hurts.
@@CallMeMebe hes sherlock holmes
E Dot what?
I once got punched in the ear during a sword fight I was clearly winning and was instantly out of the fight. That shit hurt and seriously disoriented me. Also, it completely confused me and broke my concentration. Yeah, I was a total noob. I was surprised how well I had done up until that point. But I was also wearing armour and padding underneath it and I was grappling the guy when it happened. His punch landed on my ear by accident. If he had hit me on purpose without the head protection, it probably would have been 10 times worse.
Oberonjames jeez was there any permanent damage or are you good now?
Zoe Bell would be a great guest! Her Death Proof stunts are insane.
We are so lucky to have this series. Insightful, funny and captivating - especially when Gui is invited. Please continue with this one

I have never missed a vfx or stuntmen react. This is by FAR the best one yet!!
Love all of your VFX/stuntmen/animator/etc react videos dudes! Love when Gui breaks down the stunts too! Super informative but funny AF too. Keep him and the rest of the other videos coming! 👌🏻 👍🏻 👏🏻
3:30 The punch that sparked the "jump the line" conversation was actually also necessary from a cinematography standpoint as well.
When he jumps into the air on the right side of the screen, your eyes are engaged over there, then the punch cut happens and he's punching him on the right side of the screen again, so your eyes never left where they needed to be to see necessary information. It was practical for more than one reason which makes me really want to watch it 😅
Wrf though..? How has Niko never heard of the 180 rule haha..?
It's like a really basic aspect of filmmaking
For OTS shots, dialogue, not just fights
@@KaladinVegapunk Pretty sure he knows, but was asking the question so that it would be explained to the audience.

This is still one of the best episodes of this series they've done. I'm rewatching them all. Great clips and information here
You guys are literally the only CZcams channel whose sponsor segment I don't skip through because you put creative effort and humor into it every time.
Kung Fu Hustle and/or Shaolin Soccer! Stephen Chow is one of my favorites.
Great, fun movies!
Shaolin soccer is such a hilariously good movie
Yes! I've been wanting them to cover Kung Fu Hustle, either for both the stunts and VFX
The 2010 Norwegian film Trollhunter is a great one for the next VFX artists reacts video! It has some really good VFX and the movie is low budget. Also to mention, the film is a mockumentary which makes it such a unique and interesting film.
Didn’t they already cover it? I could’ve sworn they’ve talked about Trollhunter

I agree.
It'd be good for either stunts or VFX tbh
I've requested this on a bunch of videos. For VFX and stunts.
Shaolin soccer would be another one of Stephen Chow's which would be fun to look at.
They should make a video on all Stephen Chow movies. I heard Stephen chow made most of the VFX himself in Shaolin soccer with a laptop he had.
Honestly in my opinion you guys are the ilm of the movie world love your edits and fixes and I will always love the reacts. You guys have truly inspired me to follow this profession. Thank you and good luck!
I've enjoyed several of these videos, but this is the one that got me to subscribe. Very entertaining, moving tribute for Shad, and great explanation of the 180 degree line. I recommend you breakdown some stunt scenes from the early Indiana Jones movies. Watching them as a kid made me believe all I needed to be the hero was a bull whip and a Fedora. Thanks
Clint is going for the cult leader, Joseph-Seed-esque look. I just finished Farcry 5 and the resemblance, down to the glasses and hair choice, is uncanny.
Did you like the game?
Just needs a man bun and he'd be the spitting image. Next episode will be "VFX Artists React To Apocalypse Movies" and he'll be talking about how the end of the world is coming
Oh my god I didn’t see it before but I see it now lol
Hey, have you guys considered bringing in a Hollywood animal handler to react to animal handling/training scenes?
This is a really cool idea!
Bring in the whole film crew at this point

Yea sound can really make or break a given scene, especially a fight scene.
There's an awesome documentary called Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound you can also check out CZcams videos on Foley artists.

The Final Master is a movie about a martial arts using various weapons specifically two knives. Fantastic choreography!!
There's a scene in Ford v Ferrari, 'It's a perfect lap', where the camera flies from afar towards Ken's car going 220+, it was amazing, I bet there is a lot of camera/CG magic going on there too.
I love that stunts are still like: "Yeah... Let's just do it for real and hope for the best."
You guys definitely need to react to Atomic Blonde fight scenes with a stuntwoman; especially to the fight scene during final act in the apartment building which is a 7 minute or so long scene that is made to look like it was all done in one take. The film's directed by David Leitch who was co-director on the first John Wick and his style is very prevalent through out the film, especially since he got the same cinematography as John Wick 1 to work on it as well.
I feel like I've suggested this one like 5 times already. Get on it, guys! 😁
oh i loved that movie
I'v never seen the movie before, but I just searched for the scene. It's so good. I wonder if it actually was done in one take too.
@@DaveYognaut I think there's definitely a few hidden cuts in it, there're most noticeable when the camera pans away from the main character to something or someone else like the shot where the camera pans down stairs to where the bag is after that guy tried to throw it at Charlize 's character. That one's the most obvious to me since they could very easily cut there since none of the actors/stuntmen are in the shot and continue the fight on the next take. Either way it's a very impressive fight scene and there's still a lot of decently long takes during the whole fight where I don't even see any hidden cuts until when I do like almost a minute later.
@@marvinvargas4988 You likely have since I've notice a few comments recommend it quite a few times before but they have yet reacted to it lol. I'm sure they'll get to it eventually since it's just way to obvious of a film for them to not react to with a stunt person since it's easily one of the best hollywood action films of the past decade. It's just kinda painful how long the wait is, especially since this series isn't as frequent as VFX artist react and it's gonna obviously be harder to get stuntmen to guest star on it because of covid-19
I just watched Extraction on Netflix and it had some sweet stunts y'all could breakdown. cheers!
That section on the sound effects made me want a version of this series about sound design. I'd watch the shit out of that.

1. Martial Arts of Shaolin (1986): I would love to see you guys react to the unbelievable speed of a young Jet Li
2. Avengement (2019): absolute brutality
3.5 Element Ninjas (1982): you could talk about the insanely intricate choreography and tell us whether it's more like a fight or more like a dance.
Keep making content like this, I will look for more suggestions.
I love how at 13:31 he's talking about the Muay Thai kicking style but then shows a Meia Lua de Compasso aka the Capoeira version of the wheel kick.
I would love to get Dwayne Johnson’s stunt double in one of these.

"of course everyone was laughing at me, cus they knew i was in pain"

Yeah it's pretty lame. It's the same thing where your friend does something and they get hurt, and the rest of your friends just stand around laughing instead of helping.
Sometimes to make it feel real it's got to be real. I see the point you're trying ro raise but here's the thing. You dont become a stunt person for the personal safety of the job, and they are well aware of their own boundaries for safety. Seems to me they take carefully considered risks but are never forced to perform things they deem too dangerous.

yes! enter the dragon alone influenced so much action cinema! we would not have films such as the matrix or crouching tiger or almost any jackie chan film without bruce lee paving the way for martial arts popularity in america. enter the dragon also directly influenced the creation of dragon ball, the blaxploitation genre, as well as popularizing the “mirror scenes” in which the villain is amongst mirrors and the protagonists needs to find them. iconic masterpiece!
