So Much Shop Work

- Here is a lot of the randomness of our shop work. This is what's it's like having an offroad recovery fleet to maintain. Upgrades to Ol Blue, fixing the steering column in the Scrambler, buying a new truck, installing our Challenger lift in the new shop, cutting the tailgate on the red dodge... Just all sorts of things going on lately. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

My family was in Moab for Christmas and stopped by the new shop to take some pics of the trucks. Mike was there working on his camper and came out to chat. Ended up giving us the full tour and showing my young sons his trailer project. Top tier human being and it was a great Christmas gift for the whole family. Thank you, Mike.
Pin! This comment Rory📌
This is so incredibly wonderful. What a wonderful bunch of people the trail mater team are. Thank you for sharing.
@@imfloridano5448Rory has talked in the past that he doesn’t appreciate people coming up to the shop because they are very busy.
I have never said that. I love when people stop by the shop and check out the trucks and look around, I don't like when they come strolling in the shop like they own the place, but I love seeing people and talking to them when we have time and are around.
look up oil burners..no fumes, sht load hot.. $300..burns engine oil, ect..im in aus.. guy in u.k. does vids on allsorts, says there trying to ban, tax them, there soooo good..@@trailmater
I worked factory for over 25 years and I don't remember ever having as much fun as the three of you do. What a great environment. Really enjoy your videos and love how much all 3 of you have relaxed in front of the camera. You laugh, we laugh. That's such a good thing. 🥰
‘Ole Blue’ is looking like a show truck. Great work you guys!
Magnusshawn- I told you guys those scratches would buff right out.
Agree, but Robby from Layton Autobody deserves most of the credit for the way it looks. At least from the outside.
@@Dave-ei7kk it looks a lot like Shawn buffing out the passenger side door & rear fender. It must be the scar from his mortal combat with a toy car's battery that threw me off; LOL.
I’m glad you finally put lights in the dually fenders, for some reason it was driving me crazy. You now have off road recovery vehicles at both ends of the spectrum.
My favorite time of the day, new trail mater videos, or shawn and mike show videos. Love em guys, keep up the awesomeness. ❤
Old Blue is really coming along. Now if Rory can just not hit stuff - never mind. It is a truck to be used and abused in the ever duty of rescuing and recovering offroad vehicles. Great job guys.
That was a great episode. Giving Fab Rats a bit of competition only fancy, because they never get around to painting 😂
FabRats have to maintain that "rat look" style of their rigs, hence no paint. =)
I love when Rory guest stars on the Mike and Shaun show 😂🤣
Well done guys with all the mods & repairs ! Ol’ Blue is looking awesome, really nice to see all the holes filled in with the reflectors, & the rock sliders look very capable.
Sliders turned out super nice...under Mike's sharp eye
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SEAN'S LAUGH!!!!!
It's called a blood sacrifice, Rory. Most repairs call for at least one. The more important the system you are repairing, the more blood sacrifices are required.
Ol' blue keeps looking better and better!
Congratulations Rory and team
That's a sharp dodge!
Hard work paying off!
The sliders look awesome thanks Shawn for taking care of the scratches on blue it looks awesome to
That's got to be new for you guys, buffing out scratches lol. Ole Blue looks great!
Great repair on ‘Ol Blue. Shawn buffing out the scratches, Mike building Rock Sliders, Rory repairing the column. Look Spiffy again 🤙😎
That truck gets cooler every time a video does out
Congratulations on the new tow rig. Ole Blue is looking sharp with the new grill, reflectors and rock sliders. You guys have too much fun 😂. Thanks for taking us along for the ride
I thoroughly enjoy when you guys are building stuff, as much as the recovery work.
They could be folding laundry and it would be entertaining.
@@Fix_It_Again_Tony yeah, 'cause you are watching them and not really what they do but how they do it. =)
I love your shake and bake paint method. Something I can do at home.
I like the shop videos watching the stuff you build and the improvements. tow truck looking good
No wonder you guys can beat the tar out of your trucks and not worry about it, because you can fix anything. Amazing work!
Everything done to Old Blue makes it better!
Im happy for you Rory glad you got a nice truck.
Ok Blue looks so pertty!
Ol Blue, looking SWEET great job guys.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That is such a bada$$ truck!! Ole Blue!!!
Trail Mater has an awesome team and the amount of fun they have while getting the job done is awesome
"The straps fit 54" Tires and we know who has 54" tires..." A friendly little "Dig" at Matt followed by a clip of a messy little dig by Matt. 🤣🤣
Once again, Kudos to the editor!
Ol' Blue is sure looking good gentleman.👍👍
Old Blue is looking sharp 👍
Rory n Eric from bsf are the actual goats
Ole Blue is looking top shelf gang.😊😊😊
Ol' Blue gettin' pretty fancy there folks! 🤙🏽🍻👍🏽
Great job, it’s nice you guys work well together !
I think Rory’s Mark 1 eyeball is pretty accurate.
Ol Blue is looking a little GREEN around the gills -- O0000 a beautiful truck
My kind of guys do things cheap as possible and get it done and have a laugh and joke while doing it. Cheers from Australia.
That radiant floor heat would sure be nice to get working! Much better than heating air, especially when you're opening bay doors a lot. You could plumb a regular hot water heater into the system to keep the slab warm once it's up to temp. Use the wood burner to heat it initially so it doesn't take weeks.
in floor heat is like an ex-wife 😝😝😝
A “Ol’ Blue” islooking sweet
Old Blue is sure looking fine these days.
Thank you Rory for taking some time out of your Saturday to sell us some shirts. Even though you were closed and headed to Junction. Yall are classy. Most folks wouldn't give the time of day. But y'all do that. Great people. Bless y'all
Should paint the front grill black too! Ol Blue is looking Greener and Meaner!
....classic- welding the ground to the tailgate- 'been there done that!'
Blue looks like it can pull a mountain down ❤❤🎉 , 😅
The difference between a tow op with nice equipment and one with garbage ain't money, it's maintenance. Looking real good, those sliders are something to take pride in.
Sweet ol Blue wow
Old blue keeps getting better and better loving it
Old blue is getting too nice, it needs to be called new green! Live it!
Wow Ol Blue looks awesome, paint, lights, rock rails and black rims. Shop looking good too! Keep up the great work!
Another great video ❤ You can tell Rory likes Ole Blue the best. It's so pretty. 😂
A lot of cutting and welding. Rock slider on Old Blue looks great. And a new truck to pull the trailer! And a nice new lift!
I am getting pretty old. So old that I will probably never see Lilley going out on her own to do a rescue but it does make me smile thinking about it. Cheers from Canada. ~ulrich
In my barrel stove, I drilled holes and slid two rebar across, near the top of the stove (welded in the rebar from the outside holes), and slid a thick plate on top of the reabar.. So it acts as a shield to catch the heat. It makes the barrel stove a lot more efficient; because my plate comes far forward, towards the door; so your fire in the back has to vent smoke towards the door and then loop back around to the flue--- so it's like adding a second chamber in the top of your barrel. It really works well to catch the heat rather than it being sent straight up the flue...... So you can leave your damper open to keep the fire oxygen fed --- and it still catches all that heat with your sheild. Totally worth doing. Just make sure you put the shield up as high as you can so that you don't really lose any capacity of the stove. Best mod you can do in a barrel stove.
I freaking love the subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, shots back & forth between Matt and Rory.
Oh man, that first dent is gonna kill us all!!! Mr. Wolfman did a fine job and you guys are putting the icing on the cake.
Polishing paint? Who are you and what did you do with Rory...? lol
Those rock sliders came out really good. Liked that you added the "step pad" for accessing the bed - nice little touch there.
That is a sweet looking truck, Old Blue.
I am anxiously waiting for the complete buildout of Big D
Ol' Blue who is green, look'ng good! 😊😊😊

The Rock sliders look fantastic.... so does Old Blue....

As long as it looks good from a galloping horse… You’re good
Blue just gets better and better. Nice sliders Mike and Shawn got the shine back. Great team Rory.
Shaun had the best job, buffing out Rorys mistakes 😂
A nice looking and functional wrecker!
Wow- blue is looking more like a show truck than an off road recovery rig. Great job! Thanks for taking us along......
I should have known you had to buy a new buffer. Seriously, I reviewed the pictures from my Dad and I trip.. Ol' Blue still looks good! Great job, guys. Love what you do
Best wishes to the Trail Mater crew for a happy & healthy 2024!
Ol' Blue is looking MIGHTY FINE👍👍
WOW That Thing LOOKS GREAD !!!!!
Mike, that’s a nice looking wrecker. Looks a lot better than the biggest off-road wrecker. Thank you for showing, and sharing this build.
Olé Blue looking sharp
That turned out to be a great looking wrecker!
Yay!! After years and years, Finally got the fender lights in! I'm starting to like the shop videos more than the rescue videos.
Great job on ole blue...looking good

The rock sliders look great!!! Great Job! I want a set of those for a XJ! 😂 Ol Blue Is Looking SWEET!!!
Trail Mater video on Saturday , just makes me feel so much more gooder .
Big Thumbs up 👍 looking great guys!
Green Blue looks good guys!!! You were my first off-road recovery I ever watched. You were recovering a new jeep that was speeding and was not smart enough to stay in road. Removed front suspension that you brought out on the trailer. Thanks for introducing me to the Utah off road recovery’s. Who knew watching someone enjoy their work would be so entertaining!!😊
'Ol Blue is looking better and better, new interior liner, grille with a Bowtie, and rock sliders?!! Not to mention the that'll buff out treatment. Always a great show here on this channel! keep it up gents, Happy New Year!!
I was a little skeptical about the black wheels at first, but now I really like them. Great job! All of you should be proud.
Trail Mater: The ultimate recycling center!!
