    This one is a bit more focused towards the newer players to Helldivers 2 as I felt it might be a bit overwhelming these days with so many options for Samples and wanted to put something current out talking on how to get the most out of your hard earned alien bucks.       Due to this being focused on newer players, one thing I would have included is that Samples can be maxed out. If they are trying to follow your formula and are having issues getting SS, they may end up maxing out and not realize it.

    Rare samples being the rate-limiting step for most Super Destroyers has made me realize how relaxing Difficulty 4 missions are after weeks of slogging through the top-tiers.

      @@dagdamor1 now I’m curious… don’t you spend the same time (less stressful) for less samples though? I feel running with randoms the yield is better on 9 but I didn’t try enough to be sure.

      @@ThePortuGerMerican Oh, the yield is *absolutely* better on 9. 4 will spawn, like ~12 rares, while 9 usually has somewhere just under 40. And since the spawns are relatively equally spread out across outposts and PoIs in both cases, collecting the maximum takes the same amount of running (But not the same amount of _time_ , since there are infinitely more annoyances on level 9).
      It's just that if you're capable of playing 9, you can easily solo 4, and if you only need 10 rares to reach your cap, it can be a nice change of pace. And, even if you can solo 9, the way the solo experience works will mean that you probably won't get the chance to loot everything unless the map generation RNG is uncharacteristically nice to you (and/or you're insanely cracked at the game and manage to handle every encounter at maximum efficiency).
      Playing with a coordinated team is a whole separate story. You will be able to clear out level 9 missions consistently, but by the same token, you can also speedrun a level 4 extremely quickly by all splitting up to hit all the objective stages as soon as they become available and check every corner.

      I realized over the last couple days that I was getting close to equal samples of common and rare on diff 8 compared t to 6 and 7 but this makes me want to give 4 a shot

    The new orbital 10% increase really makes the 380 decimate the field

      It's not really noticeable with the OPS (no bigger explosion animation, unfortunately), but the 380mm barrage can just clear a row of bot reinforcements in no-time. I seldom use the 120mm, because it feels like peanuts.

    One more thing that's worth keeping in mind with Superior Packing Methodology - This upgrade's effect is _based on the person who throws out the "Resupply" stratagem_ , and not on the person who's picking up the resupply crate.
    Therefore:
    - If you have this upgrade, make sure you're the one calling resupplies. Even if you have SPM, you will not get full ammo from a Resupply pod package if it was called in by someone who does not have SPM.
    - If you play with a consistent stack of friends, you can potentially forego unlocking SPM for everyone if one person already has it. Just make it a point to always have them call in the Resupply stratagem.

      Are you 100% sure? The way I understood it was that the Host has to have the SPM, or was that a previous iteration of this?

      @@TrveBlackMetal1 I have seen it happen in games clear as day - I pick up supplies from a drop called by a teammate while I have an empty SPEAR backpack, I get back two shots. I spend those and call the next resupply myself, I get back a full load of 3 from it.

      If true, that's changed... For the worse.
      It used to be based on whether or not the person who had called down the weapon had SPM, which was already pretty awkward.

    Eagles used to dominate my load out, now, the 380 and OPS with the T5 upgrade is starting to make more of an appearance. X45 might have had something to do with that, too.

      I use orbitals more than Eagles now just 'cause of how they've been buffed--I do take at least one Eagle, though. Only reason I run multiple eagles nowadays is 'cause of orbital scatter which really needs to be removed.

      The Orbital Gatling did that for me. It's so versatible for both bots and bugs, decimates reinforcements and has a cooldown that feels almost nonexistent.

      ​​​​@@damienmcdonald7610 It's because the CD starts at the beginning of the barrage and the barrage lasts so long. By the time it's finished, there is barely any time before it's ready.
      I was actually thinking about it's up-time earlier today. It gave me the idea of keeping it going indefinitely in a HVA mission. Maybe pair it with Shield Relays as a lure and safe zone since they also have high up-time.

    The only point I might quibble with is you may want to get Targeting Software Upgrade early for the 1 second reduction in Orbital call-ins for only 60 samples.
    That can make a difference if you are trying to drop an OPS on something moving, and it's a cheap upgrade.
    Power Steering is also handy for when your 'buddies' decide the best way to reinforce you is to drop you right in the middle of the Termanid swarm... again...

    I also think the most effective way to "farm" samples is to go on ICBM bug missions on level 8 or 9. You can get up to 40 rare and common samples EACH (realistically you'll get about 24 each), and it usually takes 15-20 minutes to 100% clear with a team of 4.

      Blitz has been feeling really consistent for my community seems like, usually splitting up and full clearing thanks to the new Commando in under 10 or so. Fun stuff.

    Highly recommend people who watch this to really look at the costs of tier 4 and 5 upgrades.
    The jump from tier 3 to 4 is massive and is usually 2 upgrades worth of samples in other areas

    I think a point people don't articulate fully with non-carried stratagems is the value of damage over time and with that stratagem duration. Orbital Gatling barrage, Orbital gas strike, Eagle Napalm, orbital Laser, Mortar etc. are all amazing for bug breaches. as they last for a long while, and can effectively spawn kill the enemies fairly well. One of them is enough to hold down a bug breach long enough for you to make enough distance to where the bug breach is no longer a threat. 2 of them is enough to hold it down for the full duration of the bug breach (short of a bile titan or charger spawning, which you'll have to deal with with something else, though the orbital laser can get a Bile Titan to a sliver of health.
    What I'd like to see is an expansion of damage over time primary and secondary weapons, The incendiary breaker is very good for what it is, but it seems to be alone. I'd like to see an incendiary pump action, and some form of incendiary secondary.
    Personally I feel like the incendiary breaker is very balanced for what it is. No stagger in exchange for damage over time, and I believe said tradeoff would work for the other shotgun types in game (Pump and Sawn Off).
    The rocket launcher the new Commando is based off of is the M202 Flash which IRL shoots incendiary Rockets, which I think should make it into the game. Make them like a rocket propelled thermite grenade that can one shot or two shot chargers, but it does so with damage over time, which would make it less useful up close and more useful at distance. Hell, you could add the same rockets to an Eagle stratagem to the same effect, but with more damage, like enough to kill a Bile Titan (over time of course)
    Also we need fire resistant armor (perhaps add that to the CE-35 Trench Engineer armor which is the same orange as the incendiary breaker), honestly the Devs could probably make a whole fire damage based Warbond.

      I feel like the Orbital airburst is better for this sometimes because it does less awkward, unpredictable AoE damage like the gas strike (I don’t always see the gas), while the strikes are timed to the point that it still deletes more than half a bug breech if timed right

    I personally took the sentry and eagle upgrades first and never regretted it. I usually take two turrets with me on bot missions and almost always get the most kills. The improved turret effectiveness allows you to clean up entire bot drops, or solo objectives like gunship facilities, since the mortar/autocannon can distract enemy advances and the rocket can destroy the gunships.

    Streamlined Request Process is good getting more ammo sooner. Swap out your empty Spear and backpack for a new one that is loaded and a backpack full of rockets without needing a resupply/ammo box.

    In my opinion, after XXL weapons bay, and possibly donation access license, Nuclear Radar and Powered Steerings are absurd. An effective extra radar booster that makes the pings 3x as useful and being able to steer farther from your drop point to land on threats to teammates is huge.

      @EravinVT I mean it can overpower some walls if you get placed right. The upgrade makes it fast enough to near-perfectly counter it's ability to push you out of walls you are in, assumung you are far enough from the center of the walls area. My favorite thing is on eradicates that have the air tower, if someone puts the beacon under the back platform of the tower the steering is just enough to let you land on the platform it seems. It's nice until the 37 rocket devastators across the map say hi.

    Ironically I never warmed much up to eagles. From the start I was using ops and eagle airstrike. One of the last ones I unlocked was the 500kg. As mentioned by Eravin playstyle makes a big difference.
    By now I have everything level 3 and wonder what’s next. Very likely the orbital path to make the ops stronger with the level 5 upgrade first. Then let’s see.

      I started playing with a friend, he went eagles while I focused on orbitals.
      I quickly learned to love the walking barrage but other than the precision strike found the others somewhat lacking compared to my friends eagles. (This was when we only had 3 unlocks so no weather monitoring or explosive increase )
      Still, I do prefer not going with an eagle heavy loadout to avoid leaving stratagems running out and not recharging.

      @@225Reaver next to the OPS I used the orbital cluster for bugs since the beginning and loved it.
      My early game load out (mostly bugs) was OPS, Orbital cluster, eagle airstrike (for bug holes and utility) and a support weapon.

      Alot of the later upgrades do not appear due to the video being focused on how to get the most out of your first samples, late game players will know what they want and why of course

    Upgrade bridge first for extra fire damage, then eagle bay so you can have better napalm airstrike, make sure to get the donation access license as well to have full flamethrower mags.

      Like, how effective is high-quality lubricant? Is shock absorption gel worth it, or do turrets usually die before running out of ammo anyway. How much does this vary by turret? What's the practical increase from Nuclear Radar? Does Circuit Expansion increase the chances of friendly fire?

    Hi, I wanna ask something, Is there bug with morale augmentation ? Because i think is not working, when i buy additional eagle it show all eagle have additional such 500kg from 1 to 2, indicate it's working, but for morale augmentation the cooldown still the same like exosuit still 600 second and support weapon which mostly 480 secs but still 480 secs after i buy it

    The upgrade prices are crazy for the t5 mods, I think two of the t5 upgrades are 250 rare samples which is the max rare samples you can have, it takes at least 10 missions to get one t5 upgrade if you’re playing casually and not farming

    God I wish I had friends to play with specifically to coordinate sample farm missions
    here's hoping this ends up being the final tier of upgrades and going forward their way to get people to bother collecting samples is to introduce temporary buffs to cash them in with... I was plenty happy to finally have *everything*, then they introduced this new tier that with rares alone will take MONTHS to complete...

    Just gonna throw this out here: SPM has been très bizarre for me lately. Last night it went from being functional in solo, to not functional *midway* through a mission with duo, to working fine again when said duo got de-synced and DC'd while we were fighting a Factory Strider in the last 10 minutes.
    This thing's only working some of the time and it does seem to be tied to multiplayer, based on what I noticed last night.

    Maybe this is just me not sure really but does it seem like eagle call ins recently have been lacking in the ordnance per se? like as in they aren’t hitting nearly as hard IMO as the orbital call ins ive been doing better with those than eagles & I freakin love the eagle call ins

      I think Orbitals have been outscaling eagles with the T4/5 while the Eagles won at T1/2/3 upgrades

    You are so wrong about the samples, I had maxed out the modules by lvl 40 before the recent update that added some new ones. I am almost level 90 and I'm just close to maxing all the warbonds except for polar patriots which I never bought.

    I'm just not a fan of the sample price scaling, why do rare samples exist if you're going to require very similar amounts if not the same amount as common samples, make rare samples slightly rarer in missions and make us require like half of the current amount, at least for the tier4-5 upgrades, not sure if I'm alone on this open to counterarguments

    The tier 5 upgrades don't feel as impactful then the rest imo, but they are definitely very nice quality of life or make some strategems more consistent

      @@deliqene3191 it’s kinda wild that one of the earliest Eagle upgrade is a 20% decrease in rearm time and it’s so cheap. Like dude that’s a TIER II upgrade.

    Ironically I was not impressed with the 10% CD on the Eagle Module.
    I found more enjoyment from the EAT delivery module and 5% global CD. 😅

      Faster EAT delivery is like the 30 minute pizza promise. Drop pod comes quicker to charger or the EATs are free.

    10% weapon cooldown "irrelevant" lol
    I mean I get it, you're comparing it with everything else, but trust me the people who are still unfamiliar with ship upgrades are definitely the same guys losing their weapon all the time and getting very confused.
    That 10% is almost a full minute faster cooldown and that's a minute for them of running around like a headless chicken running through everyone's lives quickly.
    When you get team wiped or reinforced opposite side of the map from your stuff, that's when you do all your dying. It's always the recovery time that kills you. So this is a big deal upgrade actually
