    More than one third of Non FAANG companies I interviewed with asked me leetcode questions (half of them are leetcode hard) too. It's probably because a lot of those employees were ex-FAANG companies.

      Yea unfortunately the bullshit is spreading. Smaller companies have the time to get candidates to do a real take home exercise that can actually demonstrate their coding abilities but why they choose LC is beyond me

      @@crackfaang I prefer 1h coding exercise over 5-20h take home task afer which I'm rejected at some shitty startup because I'm basic in local language, or someone on the first or second call doesn't like foreigners, or I find out they wanted me to do full stack app in those 5h

    Beautiful video.
    I started as newbie over a year ago and have practiced almost every day since then.
    Couldn’t even solve basic Two Sum😅 back then.
    Im still not perfect now…not even close to where I want to be but I have improved immensely over the past year. Can solve easies now and 50%-70% of most mediums I come across.
    It takes a lot of practice but it is absolutely doable💪🏾

    • @crackfaang
      @crackfaang  Před 5 měsíci

      No idea sorry, it's a separate company that handles listing these and there's no fixed schedule. Just when a team needs more people.
      Better to just get a standard entry level job and try for FAANG later on. Spots are tight for entry level and competition is very high

    Not sure if company specific questions are helpful though. It's so very variable and depends heavily on the interviewer. It's been my experience like that anyway.
    I think it's about how well you can approach (not solve) an unknown question.

    • @crackfaang
      @crackfaang  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Agreed it’s total bullshit. FAANG or non-FAANG these questions are ridiculous. Smaller companies should do take home exercises to gauge your actual ability. FAANG I can at least understand that with the scale of applicants and interviews it is not feasible to do this and they have no choice but to LC

  • @mindrust203
    @mindrust203 Před 3 měsíci

    It's interesting how your approach differs from others I've seen. Some people say memorize patterns not solutions, but you go the other way. I say whatever works, works!
    Only thing I didn't see you cover is system design -- what are the steps to prepare for that type of interview?

    • @crackfaang
      @crackfaang  Před 3 měsíci

      Well on interview day there not enough time to figure it out on the spot, it really comes down to do you essentially have the solution memorised. When they expect you to solve two mediums damn near perfectly in 20 minutes each, it's really the only approach.
      As for systems design that's a whole other beast. There you can only memorise so much, a lot of it comes down to your actual experience with building systems which you can't really teach online since you need hands on experience

  • @AashishM007

    The main problem I face is getting an interview. Do you have any tips for that ?

    • @crackfaang
      @crackfaang  Před 5 měsíci

      Probably a lack of experience. Competition is tough and if you don't have the skillset required or experience needed, why would they give you the time of day?
      Especially with FAANG companies. Referrals do help a lot but sometimes you just need to get more work experience. Of course you can keep applying in the meantime

  • @Mylo_madness03
    @Mylo_madness03 Před 5 měsíci

    Why memorise solutions 😮 I was told against it

    • @crackfaang
      @crackfaang  Před 5 měsíci +3

      An interview is 45 minutes. The first 5 is spent making smalltalk with the interviewer. You will then get two questions.
      You need to read the question, ask clarifying questions, propose solutions, potentially define test cases, code it up without bugs, go over the time and space complexity, and dry run one of your test cases., all while explaining your thought process out loud clearly and concisely.
      You think you have the time to figure it out on the spot? No way. You need to be a machine, see the question and immediately know how to solve it. Otherwise you are playing with fire. Winging it is a bad approach, do it at your own risk
