Olly Stone's Toolbox Has Everything From Titanium T-Handles To Japanese Micrometers

  • What's inside a factory-level mechanic's toolbox? We had Olly Stone give us a tour of his spot in the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki pit, which includes a custom-fabricated cart/work bench. Stone has an affinity for Snap-On wrenches, titanium T-handles, carbon fiber trays, Japanese measurement tools, and even a few handmade items that are just as trick as anything on Austin Forkner's KX250.

Bro. The way he handled those digital calipers caused me physical pain. Some advice from a machinist to a mechanic. When storing your
calipers always make sure they are slightly open. NEVER store them completely closed. Also, those calipers came with a case. Please, please
find it and use it. That's a somewhat precision measuring device that you are tossing around like a set of pliers. And since they are digital,
always have spare batteries with you. I actually keep a set of dial calipers just in case the battery goes dead and I don't have a replacement.

I love these videos, not many out there, I have a similar track box that I’ve built over the years that is pretty similar, but it’s always cool to learn how the pros do it. I can’t ride as fast as the pros but I can at least work on them right. Especially now that I’m working on my kids bikes.

Don, you should make some contacts next time you're in Japan...Become a distributor and with all your contacts in the motorsports industries
Japan has some really high quality tools like Kyoto. Most Japanese tools are hard to get in the states as they don't have the business model like Cornwell, Mac, Matco Truck routes.
Also, Knipex is a German tool company that actually makes Snap-on's dikes, needle nose, duck bill pliers, snap ring pliers etc. but they are considerably cheaper.
