Our children are also settled abroad, we have visited them so many times, but never did we feel ignored or unloved. It is not a case of Desh or Pardesh, those children who love and care for their parents will remain like that.

Parents work hard to give their kids a great lifestyle that they couldn't have. But so many times kids don't appreciate their hardwork and think that it was the duty of parents. I'm not generalizing anything but these things do happen and it's a shame that kids change after going abroad. Fathers are so under appreciated.

Ms. Sen, is this your personal experience? If not then what is your source of info? I am a Scientist in America and coincidentally my Late ma's name was also ela. That's why I want to let you know that please do not blame the whole community. If you had such bitter experience, doesn't mean everybody does.
I am single, I never had delivered a child but my parents used to come and stay with me for 6 months till the pandemic started and yes just to spent time with me and not as AAYAS......really sad to see the term you used. Feel sorry if your kids have done that with you but my Indian batch mates and co-workers that I know about have never ever done such.

Excellent Direction, cast selection & acting. LOVED the script - especially the VERY sensible ending that was an EXCELLENT social message to ALL parents. I could relate. Born & raised in India, to Hindustani Parsi parents, I particularly enjoyed the Gujarati dialogues & the Indo-American situation. After spending most of my life here, I soon realized that my background & that of my child/children is quite different. Life on the whole has changed in the 21st century, so the dreams of parents for their children are usually based on their background, & cultural lifestyle. If our children are raised in a different culture, our dreams for them will not tally with theirs. It's a hard pill to swallow, but parents EVERY where are having to adjust not only to the individuality of their children, & their differences from themselves, but to LIFE in general. All in all, children raised in India and children raised here, are quite different when it comes to the acceptance of advise & allowing parents to decide for them. I have found that in general, children in India depend on their parents for advise. They grow up slower but mature faster. As adults & parents, they gladly live for their children. Here, children prefer to make their own choices & advise from parents & elders is grudgingly accepted. They grow up too fast, but seem to take longer to mature, and often do childish things in adulthood. As parents they expect their children to give them time to enjoy their lives tooo, as if they miss being children!? This is a general observation, of course, and my own. A Different Perspective & Point ✍of View, from USA - 🙏Namaste!!

I don't understand why parents want their children to be their shadow all the time. You gave them birth it was your decision to bring in this world so technically you have to provide them and they're not your insurance guarantee. You need to understand this world is hard enough with cut throat competition and all and with changing world world you can't follow what you were doing 30-35 years back. I also don't mean here that you should disrespect your parents but both needs to adjust with eachother for harmony.

Parents should realize that the children are not obligated to do things their way. Let them be and see how they flourish. Also, why do parents want to change things in their kid's life according to their thinking? The world is changing and parents too should understand cultural differences. Also, I was happy to have my father come and visit me, thankfully I had a father who did not interfere like these parents. Things shown in this video are exaggerated.
