A Visit From my Bros / Making Mom’s Recipes / and A Highflying Show at the Cottage/ Over 60

- It’s a Fun Week for Nanny! Her brothers are here and they’re having a greAt time revisiting their childhood….and Nanny has made a few of Mom’s recipes for Old Times sake. They also enjoyed a spectacular ‘highflying show’ at the Cottage on Friday. Join Nanny and her family .❤️
MUSIC BY EPIDEMIC SOUND
SNOW PUDDING RECIPE
PUDDING:
1 envelope Unflavored Gelatin…mix with 2 tblsp cold water for 5 minutes, then add 1/2 cup of boiling water
Add 1 cup of sugar…1/3 cup lemon juice
Separate 3 eggs …beat the whites….and add the beaten whites to mixture …reserve yolks
Continue whipping or beating all the ingredients together until thicker
Refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours
CUSTARD SAUCE:
Heat 1 and 1/2 cups of milk in double boiler
Beat the reserved 3 egg yolks…add 3 tblsp sugar and pinch of salt
Add this slowly to scalded milk
Continue cooking , stirring constantly, over medium heat until creamy
Add 1 tsp vanilla
Serve in small dessert bowl and pour custard sauce over pudding.

Wow, NANNY and MOOSIE, it is so wonderful that your three brothers were healthy enough to come to visit and you prepared so much and did so much to make it special for them with your mother’s recipes. How sweet of you I know that was a lot of work for you since you are recuperating from your name meniscus. I know you take lots of pictures and you can always have those to reflect on how sweet that they were all able to come. I’m sorry about their trip on the train was canceled. But God always knows Best so he might’ve protected them from an accident or something.so glad you had special time with family. Thank you for posting about it you all are a sweet, beautiful family and have a very handsome men and women in your family.

Hi Nanny. We’re so glad you are having good weather for your family’s visit to California. It is so fun to listen to all the names of places in and around SanDiego. I lived there for five years back in the late 60s/early 70’s. I loved it then, and love it still. We hope you have a wonderful rest of their visit. We have palms and eucalyptus trees that require trimming every 3 years …I am in fascination when they are here- the way they can climb those trees and trapeze is unbelievable, it’s like an art!

Nanny, I never heard of snow pudding, however my mother made floating islands. I used to make those. How wonderful to have your brothers visit. The tree trimmers were certainly entertaining. Blessings to you both, love, Sharon

My son's grandfather worked on the British Rails, trains, for many years. He loved trains as well. There is just something safe relaxing but at the same time adventures about being on a train. My grandfather's father worked for the swedish train company before WWl . He was an engineer. And made rail routes. (Sorry about the odd and most likely wrong words! Can't work this IPad like thing!!)
