Cape York to Brisbane Motorcycle Adventure Australia Part 6 | DRZ400E | FRENCHMANS TRACK

- My biggest, longest, hardest and hottest motorcycle adventure ride to date. In this video Josh and I head south from the northern most point of Australia Cape York.
We take on the Frenchmans Track and with some local knowledge are able to cross the mighty Pascoe River a bit more inland from the normal crossing. We set up camp along the river and then continue the next day to the commencement of the infamous Old Coach Rd in Laura. Due to the heat we call it a day and camp via the Little Laura River. We save the Old Coach Rd for the following morning.
This is part 6 of the series.

Great stuff Josh 👍and the sight of your own dirt clogged air filter has just reminded me, yet again, about something that I’ve been meaning to do myself, for awhile now, which is to make, up just a flat, oiled-foam sheet, pre-filter, to go on the top of the 3x3 mod hole on the top of my own DRZ ‘s Airbox, with the aim of keeping, the majority, of the crap, from actually getting inside the box and onto, and into, the main filter. I reckon it will work, and it would be a whole lot easier to just carry with you, a few pre-cut to size and pre-oiled 3x3 spare foam pieces, inside a plastic bag, and then just rip off the old dirt caked one, when necessary, and chuck it, and then slap on a new, fresh clean one in its place, without even having to touch the main filter inside the box for a whole lot longer, than what usually happens now, with all of that dust and crap that normally, makes it’s way inside the box. 😉
14.00 The movie Prometheus. :)
Great stuff mate.
Bloody great Lance 👍
Thanks mate.
You mentioned the bike does not like water crossings, if you still have the breather tubes coming out the bottom of the bike by the rear suspension then you just need to put longer ones on and route them up under the tank by the steering head and then back down near the air box. That should solve the issue, this is something we had to do to our MX and Enduro bikes to stop them sucking water up the breather tubes and making them bog down/stall out
Hey buddy, yeah mine were done years ago. Josh and I both have the same problem. We think it’s the rapid cooling of the bikes or similar. Mind you it doesn’t do it all the time.
Another great episode, you guys out in Australia are so lucky to have such terrific trails to ride. 👍
you two are lucky to do that ride an have so much fun on it
Awesome episode Lance... cheers. :)
loving the Adventure guys 😎🍺
Great video Lance, looks like you guys are just enjoying yourself a little too much. Safe riding mate..
Brilliant!
nice one guys
What happened at the wenlock? Just a empty sand bar? The Frenchman’s has always had the two river obstacles. I know a lot plan for the ott but I feel the old coach road is just as high on my must do list. Can’t wait to see you tackle it
Mate the river levels were just all standard heights. The Wenlock was much shallower than expected.
Yeah the Old Coach Rd was awesome. Not as much filming as I would of liked but still managed to capture the good bits.
Hook Josh up with some juice , he’ll be as ‘fit ‘ in no time
Haha absolutely 👍
There’s none left. Lance used it all 🤣
@@_JoshJB_ that’s what I was hinting at lol
Hey who am I to judge , either way. Big boy!
Great video. Did you guys see any crocs
Nah mate not one. We were looking. Would of been cool to see one in the wild.
Well I’m still traumatised. PTSD from watching this video 😂
Well I wish I had more clothes to wear but I kind of lost them all. Hahaha so good.
Did the ‘Drum Track’ join back onto Frenchman’s? Because if it didn’t, then you missed the best parts of the Frenchman’s track.
Nah it didn’t. The Pascoe was a no go at the normal crossing for us, so happy to be able to do some of it.
