all in the legs!
MaKenzie Beautte get stud fore arms
I remember in High School, our pitchers rarely did upper-body weight training, it was all lower body, especially calf-raises and squats. The coach taught us a baseball player's power either pitching, throwing or hitting, is 90% from the hips.
SusBusGaming really? Give the kid a break , geez why so hateful?
How'd you know I was playing xbox?
😂😂😂
🙀🙀 U were supposed to be practicing 😹😹
SteamyClown who th plays on xbox

Thanks this helped my throwing and I’ve been throwing harder
Awesome! I'm glad to hear that!
So...I've used these two drills for my 10-13 y/o's. Greatly improved the velocity of the throws for a majority of them. Especially for the advanced kids on the team. Great work.. Thank you for your time!
Great videos, I wish my son's coach would watch them. I remember doing thousands of these hop drills in college.
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!

“You actually have to work on these drills if you want to see improvement.” Love that comment,
Thanks Justin! The explosive arm strength is quite notable in just a month and a half of doing everything in this video and your other arm strength video, 2-3 times a week in an outdoor racket ball court. Each session is about 30-45mins followed by icing everything down.
As a mid 30s year old, my arm has been shot for about 4-5 years from playing softball. I had bad tennis elbow. And my shoulder would feel dead after one or two strong throws. Finally, I did all physical therapy stuff for both the elbow and shoulder. But I still had no arm strength. My team would joke about my arm strength- “you only play left field because of your glove and speed.” I gave my self the excuse for years about the pain and just being old. I came across your videos and I decided, it’s either get better or move to 2nd base.
I strongly encourage you to do building arm strength when coming back from injury series of videos. Some things that really helped me: 1 cross frictional rubs. 2. Extremely low weight as in a can of beans weights. (I’m now up to 2lbs. !!!!) 3. Getting back to the basics with proper mechanics (could you do a video on this with a softball for old guys like me!?) 4. Your arm strength videos. 5. Resting the arm.
Thanks again. I really went from thinking my playing days were close to being over. To now, playing as good as my high school days and have many more years ahead of me.
Thank you for improving my Aerobie boomerang throwing skills.
My 13 year old son plays house league and he does pretty well at it and he wants to make the change to Rep so we searched up training videos and yours are by far the best we came across. I have no doubt by following your training techniques he will make Rep. We had no idea such hi quality training was available on you tube. Thanks Justin. We look forward to seeing more videos.
I play softball, but this helped a ton! It really helped with making faster throws to second (I’m a catcher), and I’ve gotten more people out!
Dead a$$ when he said playing xbox I was playing Xbox and I was like dang 😂
Blake Stanley Same literally playing Madden 20 on Xbox right now
Blake Stanley legit playing 2k19 as he said it on Xbox

@@kylecurl3980 thats insane!!!😳😳😳
Great stuff coach. Incorporating it now.
Nice breakdown of the throwing motion into 2 related drills! I think they in turn can be broken down further into more motions and drills. The sky's the limit!
we do the second drill for our HS baseball throwing warm ups. helps a lot. like the first drill too. throwing with a lot of power from Centerfield. getting a lot more runners out than before
Great drills. We'll be on the field tomorrow incorporating this into our routine
Thanks! I’m newbie didn’t realized I’ve been tossing batting wrong these whole time. Now my game have improved dramatically.
Implementing this at practice tonight. Looking forward to it.

Loved this! Stepson is finishing freshman year of hs...doesn't have the greatest speed as a pitcher...wanted to see if could help...looks like great tips!
Appreciate the video, will try these out
Thanks for the tips I have practiced with a college player and I have seen big improvements and he did the rocker one with me and I gained about 10 miles and I will have to try the hoping one thanks
Long tossing 160 plus feet will streghten velocit definitely.
K Bilzs thats what trevor bauer does before he takes the mound lol
only 160+? 200+ is a long throw and would cover most of the distance from the fence to the infield. I know it doesn't make sense overthrowing a cutoff... but just for velocity improvement 😁 Aim high
RoCkeRsByMySide funny that u say that because Bauer recently did that during a game
@@TheKobiDror lmao i’m a 2nd baseman and throw from around 300 feet every day. long toss really helps you throw faster and further.
I coach JV Baseball and will definitely incorporate these in our daily workouts.
Thank you now I’m a star at baseball
This was suggested by my coach i can see why thnx 😀😀
Thanks for watching, Josh! I hope it was helpful!
Hey, thanks for sharing this video. Do you recommend doing this drill with weighted balls?
Um I wouldn’t I guess you could
Thanks Coach!
Good job bro ! Thanks for the tip ⚾️⚾️
You are a good man. Ima give you a like only cause I love baseball a lot, and would love to see more people playing it. Unfortunetly, new athletes want quick money, and they rather play basketball which is one year of college and boom!,, you are making millions,, or football where is similar.
smart kid
jimtroclus yeah I know right baseball ⚾️ is my life, hope more people start to play it
Baseball is gonna come back man. I think with all the CTE stuff that people know now... Football participation is going to go down. It already has, and those athletes are going to land somewhere. Our little league had record enrollment this year. An old classmate told me that our former high school didn't have enough people to field a freshman football team, for the first time ever.
I gained 7 mph doing long toss from the stretch in less than 3 months. Made my way up to about 93 by the time I was 15 being 5'6 150 lb.
That's incredible! 93mph at 15? Great job man. Keep working hard.
6 hours a day in the off-season for development. that's where a lot of people fall behind.
THE OBGAMER why you lying
Your so full of shit.
You're so full of shit it's not even funny. Having operated a radar gun for a major league team for four years I can tell you unequivocally you are lying.
Great explanation on how to push through with their hip leading to the throw
Thanks for the tips!
You're welcome Dillon!
Im a short stop and pitcher everyday I have my dad throw groundballs to me. I throw it back to him but I throw it back these ways. The first way you throw it and take two quick short hops than fire it or throw it with good accuracy and one other way is take two run up steps fire it or with good acurracy do it 1-2 hours a day and your arm will be stronger and gain more velocity, my arm got much stronger and I gained a lot of velocity. So try this to.
running and hop throws dont make you throw harder you 12 year old
I just subscribed and i want to learn a couple drills to slide to a base without risk of getting hurt if you can
I say this cause last time i slided to home i almost ripped my head off my body
I already have a couple of videos on the channel about how to slide properly. Check those ones out first, and I'll be sure to make more in the future! Thanks for subscribing!
This is so helpful thank u so much.
Thanks for the video!
tHANKS BIG BRO. TIPS ON FINGERS PLACEMENT ON SEAMS ON BASDEBALL???
4 seam grip is best for the straightest ball flight! Make sure you have some space between the ball and your hand

Hello coach, what do you recommend for drag on a swing? My 7yr old boy can not shake bat drag on his forward step. Ive tried many things but can not shake him from that habit. Any help would be appreciated.. Thank you
I'll make a video on this soon!

These appear to be GREAT drills!
what is the best way to throw a baseball
Whichever way that mechanically doesn't put your arm into danger and doesn't get you off balance.
With your arms
My son plays in AAA and may get an assignment in the bigs this year (Hoping and Praying) all his career even from when he was just a little guy it's always been drills drills drills. Doing drills everyday separates the good players from the exceptional players and can take anyone who puts a lot of time into it a long ways.
Trevor Przepiora what team?
6 years later how did it all go?
thanks for the drills.
this really helped me ALOT. Thanks
Im watching this to become an anime character and throw so strong that you would cry lol
12 and 61 mph. Any good?

Thanks for sharing this. My dad told me to watch videos on how to throw harder because I’m 11 and I’m playing 12u so the mound from the plate is farther so thanks! ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
We have several kids that fall off to the side when they throw - how can we teach them to carry through towards the target with their throws?
+AJ Simon Which way are they falling off? Arm side or glove side?
+BaseballSecrets glove side - we have a AAA 8U group of boys and I'd say this is one of the bigger flaws among the group. They all have pretty strong arms - but now it's about the smaller tweaks to make the mechanics match the talent ;) also dealing with some side arm non sense - which a whole other issue...
+AJ Simon I'll have to think of some specific drills you could do.. Something I do with young hitters who step in the bucket is I place an object where they tend to step that they kick over. That way it's instant feedback if they do it right or wrong. Maybe you can incorporate something similar. Maybe even draw a line in the dirt and have them square their shoulders, throw, then follow their throw all staying on the original side of the line
+BaseballSecrets this is really the last step to completing the play for us. We do the two step up / or around to attack the baseball, then the step over or hop step (whichever kids prefer)... Now we need the momentum towards the target, now away. Tried the bucket and it's too hard to setup in the flow of making a play :(
+AJ Simon Have you seen my "momentum" video?
Who was farting in the background😂
It was the microphone 😂
Hey I love your tips keep up the great work man
hey love the videos, I was wondering if you could give me some tips for faster transfer from glove to hand after fielding. (mostly middle infield)
Every time I throw hard my elbow kills and like pulses and then my hand goes numb. Is there anything that I can do to make that stop. It is ruining baseball for me
I would go see a doctor and get it checked out. There's a big difference between soreness and PAIN. It sounds like you're experiencing pain. Go see a doc to be safe man!
Ultimate Baseball Training ok I will thanks for the advice
Tommy Gibblers I hope this is a joke
Before this vid, I was throwing 65, now I'm throwing 90 ten minutes later
I mean thats okay i guess, i was throwing 45 yesterday and today im at 110 on pull downs no problem
@@robertwatson269 that's what I'm talking about👌

But...
*im a girl*
PowerGiraffe 77 It’s ok same 😂 I’m incorporating this with softball
No Xbox 😭😭
There's always time for a little Xbox, just after you put the work in on the field!
I will
using these tips to help me at softball tryouts! My throws are kinda slow and I would like to fix that :)
Man u got the best tips thanks
These drills will make you lose velocity. There's no back leg drive or front leg extension. Balance points do nothing for pitchers, and these drills are very outdated.
Tucker Dickinson These drills are excellent. Stop it.
Tucker Dickinson These are great drills as long as the pitcher leads with the front hip.....which he has emphasized over and over
AsWithinSoWithout
It isn't all about front hip lead. Hip lead is good and all but it doesn't mean anything if you don't use your back leg. You should check out top velocity. You will learn a lot.
AsWithinSoWithout Olympic lifting is great for pitching, power cleans, squats, snatches, etc. they teach your to be explosive and fast. You can't be an elite pitcher if you don't lift.
Tucker Dickinson I completely agree with you and top velocity is an excellent channel, it is much more advanced and scientific than this. But it doesn't mean these drills don't help the beginners and people looking for quality throwing exercises. All I've seen from top velocity is analysis, talking, and power lifting stuff. Haven't seen any throwing drills being taught
You thank you so much for this tip. I’ve wanted to throw hard. I just never knew how to thank you so much for your advice.
Nice! What stretches do you do before throwing?
Awesome video
thanks really helped me on my pitching
